Corsair Vengeance K60 Black/Metal USB Wired Gaming Performance, FPS Mechanical Keyboard

  • Cherry MX Red Mechanical
  • Contoured Key Caps
  • 100% Anti-Ghosting
ICON Loading...

The Corsair Vengeance K60 is a premium mechanical keyboard designed for high performance First Person Shooter (FPS) gaming. It features Cherry MX Red mechanical key switches which are of the best of the best key switches and coveted by gamers. They are defined by their low-operating force (45g) and smooth, linear key switch design so you can get quicker double and triple clicks, without the annoying click of a typist’s keyboard.

Contoured, textured control/action keycaps (WASD, 1-6) put you in complete command and allow you to easily find the precise location of your control keys. Full Key Matrix Anti-Ghosting and 20 Key Roll-over on USB detects and reports any simultaneous combination of key-presses with each key press being reported independently. Professional grade brushed aluminum chassis provides you a comfortable, yet rugged design, ideal for single player or LAN party gaming. Soft cushioned wrist rest is optimized for comfortable FPS play even for extending gaming sessions. Wrist rest also includes standard typing key caps and a key cap replacement tool for easy switching.

  • newegg Cherry MX Red Mechanical Key Switches Cherry MX Red key switches are the best of the best — they provide the sensitivity and low operating force that professional gamers love. Reaction times are ultra-fast and responsive for quicker double and triple taps. The action is predictable and linear unlike lesser gaming keyboards that have a tactile bump or the annoying click of a typist’s keyboard.
  • newegg Contoured, Textured WASD and 1-6 Keycaps The Vengeance K60 is designed to give you complete control even during the most intense action. The contoured, textured WASD and #1-6 keys are soft to the touch and without slip so you can focus on the game without needing to look down to find the right controls. An extra set of standard typing keycaps and a keycap replacement tool are provided for general typing.
  • newegg Full Key Matrix Anti-ghosting Corsair’s expertly designed anti-ghosting technology provides flawless control even when you're pressing multiple keys at once. The K60 has individual switches with dedicated diodes for each switch so every key press results in an input and is 100% ghost free without tradeoff or compromise.
  • newegg 20-key Rollover (20KRO) on USB Typical USB gaming keyboards are limited to the USB standard six-key rollover. The K60 features increased performance with a 20-key rollover implementation on USB at a blazing fast 1ms (1000 reports per second) reporting rate.
  • newegg Professional-grade brushed aluminum chassis The stiff-suspension chassis employs a comfortable yet rugged design that's ideal for single player or LAN party gaming, and provides durability and stability that's better than keyboards made primarily from plastic.
  • newegg Ergonomic Wrist Rest and More The ergonomic soft-touch wrist rest helps you play for hours without fatigue. It even doubles as a safe and secure holder for the included spare set of WASD and #1-6 keycaps. Control all of your music with the easy access media controls. A USB port on the back of the Vengeance K60 gaming keyboard makes connecting your mouse or other USB devices a simple task.

2 out of 5 eggsTerrible firmware

Pros: Hand rest is a nice addition

Solid construction.

Cons: Firmware just won't update.

Other Thoughts: Corsair's firmware upgrade software is the worst I've ever encountered. It simply doesn't work. I've had several mice and kayboards brick. This particular model just refused to update outright. Spend a little more on a Blackwidow Ultimate from Razer and be happy.

4 out of 5 eggsCorsair

Pros: -Good Quality Keyboard
-Nice switches, Quick tactile feedback
-Love the media keys
- Love the palm rest
-Overall good for gaming

Cons: - Please note that the Contoured, Textured WASD and 1-6 Keycaps, are not rubber. Which can be a pain (in my opinion) because my hands get quite sweaty and fingers can slip, it being rubber would help greatly
- Same with the keycaps, the palm rest is not a good griping rubber, have a layer of sweat and the hand will slip

Other Thoughts: It would be nice if the the keycaps were rubber allong with a quality (griping) rubber on the palm rest. And i would have paid extra for it being backlit, but it not is ok.

5 out of 5 eggsSimple yet fulfilling

Pros: Corsair does a wonderful job in the overall construction of the keyboard. It is very solid feeling and the metal body is great, while it maintains a very low weight. The keys are very smooth in action, and everything is properly spaced with a great feel during typing and gaming. The simple media controls (pause, play etc.) are tucked away in the corner so they are not bothersome. I really like the scroll feature for the volume.
I am not bothered about it not being a "fully" mechanical key board, but the keys that truly matter are mechanical so this is not a problem. I have gone through a few keyboards, this one being my first actual mechanical keyboard and I am very impressed. It is very simple, but has it's own bold statement in a way. If you are looking for something not very flashy, but with functionality, this is a good keyboard for the price.

Cons: The only con I can list would be the quality of the palm rest pad. It feels cheap, and although it does the job i feel like it could have been built a little better.

Other Thoughts: The price does some what reflect on the features. It lacks any back light features as well as any special macro keys. This, however, is not truly a con. Corsair did a great job by releasing new models with the features, of course for a higher price.
For the few extra bucks, I would recommend in getting the backlit version, Corsair's K70. It is the same construction with true fully mechanical keys, a better full-board wrist rest, and comes in different finish colours. It has slightly more functionality.
The K60 is still a great keyboard and is very cost effective if you are not looking for a back light feature.

5 out of 5 eggsITS GREAT!

Pros: I LOVE THIS KEYBOARD. I love it so much in fact I'm getting a second one and its coming in 2 days. The main thing for me is the palm rest, which really helps cause I was developing sign of carpels tunnel. And don't get me started on the cherry mx switches. Just glorious. I wished they updated this model which a new one that had back-light keyboard. But you cant have everything. As long as corsair keeps making this keyboard, I'll keep buying! :D

Cons: NONE! Just that my first one crapped out. ;~;

Other Thoughts: NONE, BUY IT NOW!

4 out of 5 eggsNot as Advertised, but still great

Pros: Great, nice build quality, and I won't get anything stuck in between the keys, however, this is a tad bit more spread out, and on the first week, it felt weird, but you will get used to it, got this for 60 bucks, and I am well impressed!

Cons: Not fully mechanical, but it says mechanical on the box, would like to see that in the specifications

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: - Cherry MX red switches
- I got it for 60 bucks with all rebates
- I like that there is no cover around the keys, so it is easy to clean
- The cable looks really cool and is very sturdy

Cons: - When my Macbook goes to sleep, the keyboard stops working. I have to take the usb cable out and plug it back in again for it to work. Today that didn't solve the problem. I had to re-plug it 3-4 times for it to work. I have a feeling it will stop working altogether soon

- Caps lock LED is always lit (even if caps lock is not on)
- Num lock and scroll lock keys never light up

Other Thoughts: I got this keyboard because I wanted a mechanical keyboard and this was the cheapest one available at the time. I figured I could throw away 60 bucks and not feel bad about it (if the keyboard doesnt work properly)

Out of the box, the keyboard's caps lock LED wasnt working properly. It is always on. And, the other LEDs are always off (num lock and scroll lock). It didnt bother me that much as I had expected it to not work properly 100% (from having read other reviews). The escape is hard to hit initially but its ok after I broke it in. Although it still feels funny.

I want to RMA this but it will be such a hassle. I will have to send this back, then they will send me a new one. It's good I didn't throw away my cheap Dell keyboard.

I would not recommend buying this keyboard at its retail price. If you can get it for 50-60 bucks, then go for it. You will get to know whether you like Cherry MX red switches and you can buy a decent keyboard after you have an idea.

1 out of 5 eggsYOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Pros: Placement of mute, volume, overall size

Cons: Errors in typing, glitches, 35% rubber dome keys, cheap keycaps, poor customer service.

Other Thoughts: Item is pure junk. I read all the reviews mostly after buying this directly from Corsair for half of retail. Brand new keyboard started exhibiting odd behavior almost immediately. This item was treated flawlessly with only gentle usage. The very latest firmware update was successfully applied and did not change the faults.

I get the same things described regularly, phantom keypresses, key ghosting, just plain unusable.

The 1/3 rubber dome keys are a horrible experience, you can get some kind of flow going on the mechanical keys, them bam, you hit a spongy hard rubber dome and it almost hurts your joints, its awful and an absolute deal breaker.

The keyboard is aluminum and stores static that never discharges, it just loads up the board inside and causes permanent faults.

If you email Corsair, you get no response. If you call them you wait on hold, then get someone who will promptly put you on hold to check with the one person who knows whats to be done for the day. To sum it up this keyboard was shipped to me in error to begin with, the incompetence is glaring.

I have used Corsair for ages in dozens of computer builds, I consider their ram trustworthy and reliable, but i would NEVER buy any kind of peripheral, or item where RMA service may be needed.

How do you release a keyboard that does phantom keystrokes and quirks at any given moment? I have an old Compaq keyboard with Cherry Blues that has survived for 15 years, too bad it only has a ps/2 connector. I expected a real mechanical keyboard, this is the appearance of quality with junk chinese design and construction

1 out of 5 eggsAngry and lied to

Pros: Some of they keyboard is mechanical.
Nice design
Solid build

Cons: THIS IS NOT A FULLY MECHANICAL KEYBOARD!!!!!

Function and navigational keys are not mechanical. This is clearly not noted on the packaging. I feel like I have been ripped off by Corsair. I will be returning this week and probably go with another brand because I hate being lied to.

4 out of 5 eggsYay for new keyboard

Pros: Volume feature is useful. I use the wrist support more than I would have thought. Types beautifully. Solid construction. I like the textured keys for FPS games

Cons: The wrist support breaks down into two pieces to hold the red textured keys. It does not like to stay closed some days and may require tape. $80 keyboard should not require tape.

Other Thoughts: This keyboard makes me hate my cheap plastic HP piece of junk I have to type on at work. My typing has improved because of this keyboard.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Keyboard, Minor Issues

Pros: This keyboard looks absolutely fantastic minus the hand rest (it isn't comfortable at all anyway).

The mechanical keys are great for everything in my opinion. I'm never again going to buy a membrane keyboard.

Build quality is amazing. This thing will not break unless you make it your life goal.

Braided USB cable is fantastic.

USB port is handy.

Cons: Unfortunately this keyboard has some minor flaws. The keyboard isn't fully mechanical, sadly, but their newer line is.

Also I have a weird problem where if I press a certain amount of keys in a certain way, it repeats the last key I pressed until I press it again, it's very peculiar.

The Corsair logo is just a sticker.

The letters on the keys got dirty quite fast (I tend to wash my hands a lot so i have no clue what happened there).

I took all of the keys off for cleaning one day and now the space bar has an issue where it gets tilted to one side and stays that way until you push the other side back down, so be careful there.

Other Thoughts: This keyboard is overall fantastic but I am not going to recommend it due to the fact that their never line is definitely better than this and there are other even cheaper choices that may be a better route to take.
