3 out of 5 eggsLEDs

Pros: The keyboard feels amazing. The Cherry Red MX Switches are absolutely delightful. Each key press is smooth and light. The software is easy to figure out without any tutorials.

Cons: About half of my LEDs have either burnt out or have diminished to the point where it is impossible to tell if they are on or not. It started with just a few keys but quickly progressed like the plague to keys all acrosse my keyboard. Now I keep my LEDs off, to quarantine the survivors from the impending death that is burning out. Truly a shame. Also, the macro keys have rubber domes which provides a substantially different feel when pressed. Sometimes I am unsure of whether or nott I have actually pressed it, however, this is a matter of personal preference.

Other Thoughts: Overall, good keyboard. Would be a great keyboard if not for the LEDs. I have not tried sending my keyboard back because I did not keep every single scrap of paper that came with the box, which is what Corsair says you need to get a refund. Oh well. Buy this keyboard if you don't mind not having LEDs on even though you paid for them.

2 out of 5 eggsLEDs

Pros: The keyboard has a nice feel to it. Good design makes it easier to clean. That's about it

Cons: Most of my LEDS are burnt out. The software is absolute gargabe. I didn't spend over $100 for parts to start failing me.

2 out of 5 eggsTerrible software, defective hardware

Pros: Nice design; looks and feels great

Cons: LEDs burn out really quickly; have to ship back to Corsair for a fix.
Software is absolutely terrible; it has less functionality than the SW for my 9-year old Logitech G11

Other Thoughts: The keyboard looks great, the LEDs are nice and bright (until they start burning out). This is a major problem with the white-LED K95s, If you are bent on getting this keyboard for some reason, you'd be better off buying it in-store locally, and springing for the IPR; it'll save you hassle and shipping costs when the LEDs inevitably burn out.
The feel of the keys is alright, though a little soft for my liking.
The software was the dealbreaker for me, TBH. I use the keyboard for work, and have all of the macro keys tied to specific actions. If you want to open bins or folders, you literally have to write individual cmd prompt scripts and tell the keyboard to run them. Brutal. Sorry, Corsair, not going to write a pile of cmd prompt scripts JUST TO OPEN A CUSTOM FOLDER.

Returned the keyboard, bought the Logitech g510s instead. Not as nice-looking, LEDs not as bright, but a billion times more useful.

3 out of 5 eggsGood keyboard LED's No Good

Pros: The mechanical part of the keyboard is top notch. It feels solid and I really like it. However, the LED’s will not last. (see comment below).

Cons: Although I purchased this keyboard in July, I did not take it out of the box and start using it until the beginning of November. Less than two weeks of use, a couple of the LED’s went out.

Contacted Customer Service regarding burned out LEDs. They were very courteous and helpful and immediately issued an express RMA. That was November 15, today is February 1st and more LEDs have gone out. Originally it was 2, now there are 8 burned out LEDs. Every time I inquire about it, I keep getting: “sorry out of stock”. This is a very popular keyboard and I can understand having a limited supply during the Christmas rush; but come on, it is the beginning of February. NewEgg and other vendors have it in stock, yet they cannot obtain one for existing customers?

To be fair, they did offer an exchange for the “non-sailboat” version; but that is not what I bought originally and this other version sells for $20 less. They also suggested sending them my defective keyboard so they can speed up the return process once they have stock available. So, what am I supposed to use in the meantime? Go buy another keyboard, No ThankYou.

2 out of 5 eggsUpdate from 8/20/14

Pros: Nice Looking Keyboard

Cons: So I have had this keyboard just over 2 years now. It still functions properly, but I don't think it's as responsive as when I first bought it. At 1st it did not bother me that the LED lights were burning out, but now over half the LED lights are out. It makes me angry that I spent so much money on a keyboard that is already showing signs of wear. My last keyboard that I had before this one (Microsoft Natural Keyboard) lasted 10 years before I noticed any problems.

Other Thoughts: This may be a little nit picky so take it with a grain of salt. The caps lock button is way to close to the "A" button in my opinion. I am constantly hitting it when I am typing. Of course it doesn't help that I have big fingers, but I never had this issue with other keyboards

3 out of 5 eggsBe careful.

Pros: The best mechanical keyboard I've ever used. Aside from the con below.

Cons: After a little more than a year of owning this.. the LEDs are starting to fail. Last week only one had failed. Woke up this morning and 6 more are out. Going to contact Corsair tomorrow morning and see if I can get a replacement. After paying so much you'd expect a keyboard to function perfectly for YEARS to come.

Other Thoughts: N/A

2 out of 5 eggsMy first mechanical keyboard.

Pros: - Action feels decent.
- LEDs were nice for the first few weeks.

Cons: - Huge
- Keys seem oddly "tall", I had little clearance between the keyboard and my desk.
- LED failures. I had this keyboard for three weeks before the first LED failed, after that they stopped working one by one until I replaced it, after about six burnt out.

Other Thoughts: I used it incredibly lightly. I work every day from 10 to 8, meaning on average I only use it for 2-3 hours per day at night. For it to have had all those LED failures with such usage- I am extremely disappointed. I bought it for the Corsair name, as I have various other parts of my build from them and have been satisfied with their quality.

I bought a Razer BlackWidow Chroma to replace this one, and have been completely satisfied with it. No burnt out LEDs, nothing.

1 out of 5 eggsShoddy LEDs

Pros: Wonderful finish, sleek look, doesn't have the new Corsair "trampstamp" gaming badge, cherry reds are a pleasure to type on.

Cons: I have owned the keyboard for 2 months. In that time, not one, not two, not three, but TEN LEDs have gone out.

On a product that costs in excess of $100 this is unacceptable.

Other Thoughts: I don't know what's happened to Corsair in the past two years, but they need to do a bit of soul searching lest they become as much of a joke as razer.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear customer,

We're deeply sorry to hear that your LEDs started burning out. Please submit a ticket at corsair.force.com or call us at 888-222-4346 and we'll set you up with a areplacement.

3 out of 5 eggsFailing LED's

Pros: Beautiful, sleek, and feels sturdy. Great typing action.

Cons: Failing LED's

I was optimistic after receiving this as a gift, because I have always loved Corsair products, but now, ~3 months after receiving, 4 LED's have failed.

Corsair is willing to replace it, but only if I pay the shipping! For a keyboard that, according to numerous reviews obviously has lighting issues, and is $150, it's crazy that I should be expected to ship this defective product back.

Other Thoughts: I'm going to Keep this model, the LED's are a huge dissapointment, but I'd rather save the $$$ to ship this towards a new, more reliable keyboard.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat keyboard, bad lights

Pros: The keyboard feels great. It's very responsive and the software is easy to use.

Cons: The light's can't be replaced. A full RMA is needed if a light goes out. I RMA'ed it once and within two months 3 lights had gone out on the new one.
