1 out of 5 eggsDead LEDs within 9 months of usage

Pros: Keyboard's tactile is very nice. For typing, I love it.

Cons: I bough this keyboard back in January and now I have 6 dead LED. I have blue emitting LED. When I contacted Corsair, all they could offer to me as a replacement was the Red LED as this keyboard with Blue LED is discontinued. I do not like Red LED and all they told me is to deal with it as they won't replace my keyboard with a Blue equivalent. Very disappointed!!

Other Thoughts: Corsair, lesson to be learn here is to not discontinue your product before the warranty expires.

1 out of 5 eggsDead Lights On Keyboard

Pros: Great build quality, except for the LED lights.

Cons: 21 LEDs are now dead and more die each week. I would have never bought this keyboard if I knew within months I would have no lumination which is a big deal for me.

I do not recommend this product.

3 out of 5 eggsPerfect Keyboard Until Death of LEDs

Pros: Perfect keyboard for the first 7 months...

Cons: Losing LEDs by the day.. Why Corsair.. why? :(

Other Thoughts: Here was my original review of the product. When I bought the silver edition and exchanged it for the gunmetal.

Pros: This keyboard fulfilled all of the requirements that I had.

-Well constructed solid sturdy keyboard. (Can't tell much about durability yet)
-All the keys work well and I like to use the "hidden" shadow LED effect that light up after I use the keys.
-Three brightness settings for LEDs
-Multimedia controls are actually a useful addition.
-Wrist cusion is a plus for me.

Cons: None that I can blame on the keyboard.

Howerver, buyer be aware.. Keyboards and mice come down to personal taste and I wasn't exactly sure what the cherry reds would feel like in comparison to the browns. Coming from a rubber dome keyboard I am already considering returning this to Newegg and purchasing the Cherry brown version instead. Cherry reds seem to be way to sensitive to the touch while I'm gaming. My left ring finger likes to rest on they keys slightly and with the sensitivity of the red switch I sometimes press the A key and drift to the left playing an fps. It is frustrating and I will give it one more week before I return the keyboard.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you to do some research online to understand the switches and then try the cherry red, blue and brown out before purchase. I wish I had gone with a brown.

Manufacturer Response:

3 out of 5 eggsDead LEDs

Pros: Great keyboard. Everything you would want in a mechanical keyboard. The media buttons are really handy and I like the 'wheel' design for volume control.

Cons: I have 11 Dead LEDs after 9 months of use. I paid a lot of money for this keyboard I expected it to last a lot longer than it has. Everything still work fine but the dead LEDs bug me. Cost to much to be an average keyboard.

Other Thoughts: For not having any programmable buttons this keyboard isn't worth the price. Go buy something cheaper.

3 out of 5 eggsLooks great, LEDs go out

Pros: Looks very high quality

Cons: Only LEDs i leave on are the 1-6 keys, arrow and WASD keys and 2 of them are already dead in 4 months. Apparently a pretty common problem.

1 out of 5 eggsGone dark

Pros: Types beautifully. I feel like I can type a million miles an hour...if that were a unit of measure for typing, that is.

Setting which keys are lit up is pretty easy, so you don't have to have everything lit up.

Cons: Even the dimmest setting is pretty bright. It's massively distracting to have the entire keyboard lit up. Thankfully it's easy to program which keys are lit up, so you can program a more reasonable scene that isn't blinding.

The lights burn out like nobody's business. Well, more likely, the connections are just terrible and they come loose easily. LEDs aren't keen on going out, and several of the keys that are dark aren't keys that I normally have lit up. I've had this less than a year and a whopping 16 of the keys have already gone out. Who knows how long it'll take for all of them to vanish.

Other Thoughts: Very disappointed. Usually expect good quality from Corsair, but I suppose they should stick to memory. The problem I have is that the typing feel is due to the Cherry switches, which Corsair doesn't make. I feel like I could get a similar feel from any vendor that uses the same switches.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Dave,

We're sorry to hear that your LEDs are burning out. Please give us a call at 888-222-4346 and we will be more than happy to replace your keyboard.

5 out of 5 eggsK70 MX Brown

Pros: Nice aluminum body
Optional wrist rest (looks nice and feels nice if you have the desk space)
Adjustable LED brightness, 3 levels and off
Feels and sounds amazing to type on
Have owned this keyboard for nearly 7 months, no wear
Volume slider and mute button, works with Win7 sound
Media controls work nicely, albeit only with some programs (see other thoughts)
Can remove every key and clean them
USB passthrough
Doesn't move around on my desk
Riser tabs on back AND front (if you need them I guess)
The longer keys are not wobbly
Gaming mode backlight setting, WASD and 1-6 illuminated
For gaming, you can press the CTRL key with the left edge of your palm instead of putting your pinky in some strange, overstretched position

Cons: Spacebar isn't comfortable to rest your thumb on (unless you take is off and put it back on backwards, strangely. Looks funny but works). Weak con, but still. Could just be me since my hands reach up at a 45 degree angle to type.

Other Thoughts: Since I sit pretty low compared to my keyboard, even sometimes at eye level (my desk chair is a Lay Z Boy recliner), I notice the LEDs under the spacebar. They're pretty bright, especially when in the dark. But I'm wondering, why LEDs under the spacebar? It doesn't even have a place on the key for the light to shine through. Not really a con, so I put it here.

1 out of 5 eggsLEDs went out.

Pros: Good keyboard all around while everything functions correctly.

Cons: LEDs started going out less than 5 months after I bought it. Got this keyboard on 1/23/2014. LEDs started going out on 5/15/2014.

Other Thoughts: Its a shame that the LEDs went out. Really liked this keyboard.

3 out of 5 eggsLooks nice, LEDs go out within months

Pros: Looks very nice, very comfortable to type with.

Cons: Manufacturing defects and poor support. After 7 months it has 3 failed LEDs. I'm reluctant to RMA it because other owners claim it takes months to get a replacement.

Other Thoughts: While it's nice to be able to beat on keys without them breaking, the mechanical switches tend to generate typing errors. I'm a retired software developer and have been a touch typist for almost 40 years. My typing accuracy is excellent, but with this keyboard I make constant errors (double spaces, double key presses, etc.). If typing accuracy is important, this keyboard may not be a good choice.

5 out of 5 eggsMechanical Excellence

Pros: Solid construction and ease of cleaning are very good, probably the next best feature to this keyboard after the Cherry MX switches that it comes with. If you have pets and ones that insist on sitting on your desk while gaming and/or working cant go wrong with this keyboard, simple q-tip is all you need to get at dust that cant be blown off the aluminum surface. The individually lighted keys are uniform in brightness and programming the patterns is easy as can be.

Cons: The only con is that it doesn't have a built in audio and microphone jacks built in, for 129.99 it would be nice to have the option to have if you use analog headphones and your case sits on the ground. That is about it really.

Other Thoughts: Maybe offer the K70 with MX Browns in anodized black to better match anodized cases like the TJ09 or Obsidian Series. I love the gunmetal color but does not match well with my anodized black case.
