5 out of 5 eggsTop Notch Quality

This review is from: Corsair CH-9000067-NA Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: Metal Body
Intuitive Control of Features
Spartan Simplicity / Durability
Compact Size
Excellent Keypress Feel

Cons: Only Comes in Red LED
Metal Body Amplifies Keypress Sounds

Other Thoughts: They shipping weight immediately caught my attention, 7 lbs? A seven pound keyboard! As soon as I pulled it out of the box, it instantly impressed me. Extraordinarily fluid keypress with just the right amount of feedback and resistance. It plugged in with no issue, and setting my custom keys and proper brightness were completely intuitive, without needing a manual.
The only thing I didn't account for,was that the metal body with raised keys adds an acoustic value to the keyboard. Most cherry brown switches that I've felt have been somewhat quiet, because of the quality of the construction, when you bottom out on one of these keys you definitely know it and its quite audible.

5 out of 5 eggsNice, solid gaming keyboard

This review is from: Corsair CH-9000067-NA Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: I bought this keyboard based on a PC Gamer recommendation. I have to say they were right! This has been a very responsive keyboard and I love the mechanical nature. I love the solid 'click' you get from using it. It isn't quiet so it may not be friendly in situations with other people around. Very happy with my purchase.

Cons: Not quiet but then you probably already know that when purchasing a mechanical keyboard.

1 out of 5 eggsPile of junk!

This review is from: Corsair CH-9000067-NA Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: It's loud?

Cons: It's loud (but ok, it is mechanical)
Their app doesn't work. Even on a new load of Windows. 2 machines. So the colors don't change.
And check out what just started happening with the backspace key:1234567890-=1234567890-=1234567890-=`123457890-=`

Other Thoughts: Pile of junk!! Going back to $8 Dell keyboard.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear customer,

We're sorry to hear that you're unsatisfied with your keyboard. To address your issues, the Corsair Utility Engine only works with our RGB products such as the Corsaiar Gaming K95 RGB, K70 RGB, K65 RGB, etc. and this model (CH-9000067-NA) is strictly red LED. As for your backspace key problem, we suggest that you click the link below or go to corsair.com/downloads and download the "Corsair Gaming K70 (Non-RGB), Vengeance K70" software/firmware pack and update the firmware on your keyboard. If you have any questions feel free to contact us by submitting a ticket at corsair.force.com or calling us at 888-222-4346 and we'll be more than happy to answer any further concerns you may have.

Thank you,

4 out of 5 eggsMac owners do not beware!

This review is from: Corsair CH-9000067-NA Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: Extremely sturdy construct
Pleasant to the touch

Cons: On the expensive side, yet have a good notion it will prove itself worthy over a long time

Other Thoughts: Keyboard is driverless (unless there is something on the website) and I am using this product on a 2011 Apple iMac running 10.10 (Yosemite). I was concerned that the media keys/function keys would not work and that a driver was needed for them to function. This is NOT the case! OS X ran the keyboard identifier script automatically when I plugged it in and the keyboard works fine. The NUMLOCK, CAPSLOCK, and SCOLL LOCK lights do not function yet, to me, it is not even a slight disappointment.

This is a premature review but I thought it would be good for Mac users to know that I have zero-compatability issues with my iMac.

2 out of 5 eggsBad quality control

This review is from: Corsair CH-9000067-NA Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: The leds look great and the build quality is solid. Dedicated media keys are a plus

Cons: I owned this for 2 months and have taken great care of it. With every key stroke, 1 out of 4 times it will let out a squeak which is extremely annoying when you actually consider how many times you press a key.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear customer,

We're sorry that your keyboard has a squeaking issue. Please submit a ticket at corsair.force.com or call us at 888-222-4346 and we'll set you up with a replacement.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Keyboard I have ever owned

This review is from: Corsair CH-9000067-NA Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: • Easy Set UP

• Small File to Download

• Perfect shade of Red (Not too light or Dark)

• Amazing Look (due to metal finish)

• 3 well chosen LED Brightness levels (dim, medium and starring at the sun)

• Sturdy

• Cable length feels like it is 7 Feet (better to have more than less)

• Cable is Sturdy bendable (won’t break anytime soon)

• Cable is not heavy

• Keyboard is not heavy

• Keys themselves feel great to the touch

• Keys have perfect spacing between them

• Keys have perfect elevation to them

• Keys and Keyboard don’t easily show stains or finger prints

• Keyboard doesn’t slide around during typing or playing

• 4 stand-up legs instead of 2

• Not loud (my opinion coming from a ps2 membrane keyboard)

• Tool provided to easily remove keys and clean

• Despite having a metal body, the keyboard isn’t reflective

• No Dead LEDs

• USB pass-through (won’t use it, but it is there)

• Windows button lock key

• Media keys are useful and well organized, not just thrown on there

• Old Corsair Logo, not the new dumb logo

• Feels like I am typing on air, not much force is necessary to activate keys

• Very quick response from the keyboard to the computer

• Easy to light up individual keys

Cons: • Some characters are better illuminated than others (the letters are better than the numbers just above them)
• Corsair online support isn’t helpful at all (previous experience with them, see other notes)

Other Thoughts: Other Notes:
I originally purchased the Corsair K70 RGB model with red cherry mix switches. But after several problems and a terrible online support from Corsair, I decided to return said keyboard. Flash forward 3 days, and I was missing the keyboard because it is actually one of the best feeling and looking keyboards I have ever had. But I found myself missing the media keys the most, because I listen to music and they were surprisingly useful. Only problem was, no one else had keys like corsair, so I came crawling back to them.
• With the Red Cherry Mix switches I was making lots of typos. This was due to the fact that the keys were more sensitive and required very little to no force just to activate them. Perfect for gaming, but not for typing.
• I originally did not want to get the Brown Cherry Mix model because I was afraid that typing would not feel smooth and instead it would be a bumpy mix. Glad to say that it isn’t, I can’t even feel the bump that activates the key! Still smooth and I can type very quickly!
• If you need help, don’t contact Corsair through their online pages, call them instead. I spent two days waiting for a response from my old broken K70 RGB keyboard. Just to be told to include my receipt of my keyboard to show proof of purchase and that I was within the warranty. Like, what the heck man, couldn’t you have just asked for that earlier?! Called them by phone and got a human for technical support within 30 seconds, with helpful service.
• I am using two of the legs to tilt the keyboard down slope because it is easier for me to type this way. Glad they included 4 and not 2 legs.
• Download the file from corsair.com/downloads so that the media keys actually work with the computer.
• No pulsing of LEDs. These keys don’t flicker. A review from a similar keyboard said they did, but they don’t pulsate at 60 times per second.
• This model includes the old logo. I never understood why people complained about the logo until now. The new logo really stands out in an annoying way. The old logo with sails blends into the keyboard and is there when you want to see it. Hard to believe Corsair is losing sales just because of this one fact.
• In the past I was told to stay away from USB keyboards because they weren’t as reliable as PS2 keyboards. Rumors were, that keys would not always register when they should, or in the order that they should. Glad to say this Keyboard is very reliable.
Amazing!

5 out of 5 eggsSplendid Keyboard!

This review is from: Corsair CH-9000067-NA Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: I haven't owned this keyboard very long, but I can already tell it was worth the money. High quality construction, great lighting, and solid keys all make this a very nice keyboard. Corsair can never seem to disappoint me.

Cons: Nothing...No cons as of yet, and there probably won't be for a while. I would say that this keyboard is too expensive, but I would be lying. It's worth every penny.

Other Thoughts: One of the best gaming keyboards on the market in my opinion. Great for both gaming and regular, everyday typing.

4 out of 5 eggsCherry MX Keys OP

This review is from: Corsair CH-9000067-NA Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: looks solid, feels solid, does everything i need it to do.
all a round good keyboard, does everything i expect from a keyboard except for macros.

Cons: the red LEDs reflect off my IPS panel, sort of annoying
louder than i originally thought, going to get O-rings
it feels like my eyes cant quite focus on the red LEDs, i wish they where white instead.

Other Thoughts: this is personal preferance, but since i usually smash the keys as i type, the brown keys are too light for me. next time, im picking up a cherry MX clear switch type keyboard.

also, it feels like my eyes cant focus on the red LEDs, i wish they where white instead.
