5 out of 5 eggsMechanical 4 Life Now

This review is from: Corsair Vengeance K70 CH-9000067-NA Black 6 Function Keys USB Wired Gaming Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: First time ever using a mechanical keyboard...wow what a difference! Plug and play with just a firmware update from the website. Love how you can make just the W,S,A,D and arrow keys light up with a push of a button (great for FPS games)

Anti ghosting is a must have for any gamer.

Cons: Price? But compared to the junk Razer Deathstalker I was using, it's only a little more.

Other Thoughts: I hated the Deathstalker with all my heart and soul. The buttons were weird or something, as I kept miss typing and hitting multiple keys when I typed. They were short keys, the Corsair Vengeance has nice raised keys, that you KNOW what you are pressing as you can feel and don't have to constantly correct spelling.

4 out of 5 eggsVery good addition

This review is from: Corsair Vengeance K70 CH-9000067-NA Black 6 Function Keys USB Wired Gaming Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: Lovely feel (cherry MX Brown) and great LED configuration capability. Ease of cleanup a great plus.

Cons: Needs a bit of getting used to, and my office keyboard is membrane-based. So the first few minutes of playing are always a bit unsettling... Not the Keyboard's fault.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat, But Loud

This review is from: Corsair Vengeance K70 CH-9000067-NA Black 6 Function Keys USB Wired Gaming Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: I decided to upgrade my keyboard. I needed one with a smaller profile, but still provided better functionality and usage (my last keyboard did not have Print Screen key).

Typing on this beast feels majestic. It's got the snap of pressure when pressing down on a key. Having used soft keys for years, I never realized how much I actually missed a mechanical keyboard. And while it may entirely be a placebo effect, I have to say gaming wit the K70 feels much more responsive, each keystroke responding instantly.

No regrets!

Cons: Can still be quite a bit loud. The Brown MX switches are the quieter of the bunch, but if you're looking for a quiet keyboard this is NOT the keyboard for you. That said, it's not as loud as other mechanical keyboards, it's definitely noticeable.

Other Thoughts: The cable on this puppy is quite thick. I've never seen a keyboard cable with two USB connectors.

5 out of 5 eggsK70 Mech Brown

This review is from: Corsair Vengeance K70 CH-9000067-NA Black 6 Function Keys USB Wired Gaming Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: Great feel, I use the wrist attachment. Write research papers and game. Can pop off keys to clean anything that falls inbetween as well.

Cons: None I am aware of?

Other Thoughts: I have spent over $110 on keyboards which would be considered ergonomic from microsoft and from Razer. Was dissatisfied every time. I expressed restraint buying a mechanical keyboard for so long because I just didn't want to pay the money but I have no regrets. The asia girl who is on the newegg youtube channel did a comprehensive review on these keyboards and that was helpful

2 out of 5 eggsMajor flaws, but it does work.

This review is from: Corsair Vengeance K70 CH-9000067-NA Black 6 Function Keys USB Wired Gaming Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: Solid construction, not as loud as some mechanical keyboards. Looks nice. It works, which is the only reason I give it any eggs.

Cons: LEDs started dying not long after I got it. 5 are completely dead and maybe a dozen more are dimming. That's just not acceptable in a $100+ keyboard. It's either bad quality control or bad design. The lighting is badly done to begin with, for example the numbers are dim but the symbols above them on the same keys are bright.

Other Thoughts: The USB cable is stupidly over engineered. It looks like it's designed to run 200' alongside a power main, not 4 feet across my desk. It's 1/4" thick and very stiff. If you put force on it near the plug it would happily pry the USB jack off the motherboard. I would be afraid to use it with a laptop.

It's clearly hobbyist grade, flashy and feature heavy but low quality and badly designed.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Keyboard

This review is from: Corsair Vengeance K70 CH-9000067-NA Black 6 Function Keys USB Wired Gaming Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: Nothing about this keyboard feels cheap. It's very well made and looks amazing. Excellent for typing, all the keys feel great. The media keys worked perfectly. The attachable hand rest fits under your palms well and makes typing easier.

Cons: none honestly

3 out of 5 eggsOkay, not great.

This review is from: Corsair Vengeance K70 CH-9000067-NA Black 6 Function Keys USB Wired Gaming Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: Sturdy feel; has a bit of weight to it. General typing feel is good. Audio mute button and volume wheel, both very nice.

Cons: Red backlight LED dimming is obviously accomplished via pulse modulation. I find it very distracting in the same way that a CRT monitor was distracting with vertical sync set to 60 hz. It buzzes, visually, and effects my eyes such that the keys appear almost like a double image. Secondly, a pet peeve is the fact that they use a different color for num and caps lock LEDs (in this case, white). Why not match the color of the other keys? I disagree with any argument suggesting that a contrasting color is more useful

Other Thoughts: I've just purchased a $130 keyboard and I'm a bit disappointed. I can't look directly at the backlit keys in a darkened room (which is exactly when I WANT backlit keys) because the "buzz" bothers my eyes. There are other small anomalies: The mute button and other multimedia controls are barely lit compared to other keys; the cord is weirdly thick (almost 10mm diameter) and stiff; the white color of the num/caps lock LEDs are a further distraction. I chose Cherry Brown keys without actually trying them. As I understand, brown offers tactile feedback without additional "click" sound. The tactile feel is barely (and I mean BARELY) noticeable. It's so small of a difference that I'm pretty sure I'd be happy with the Cherry Reds, since they cost less (at NewEgg, currently). I own a cheap non-mechanical RGB LED keyboard from an obscure brand and thought I was making a major upgrade. Not so. I'm not going to send it back, but even as I type, I am not using the backlight and that is a bummer.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

This review is from: Corsair Vengeance K70 CH-9000067-NA Black 6 Function Keys USB Wired Gaming Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: This keyboard is absolutely amazing. I do light gaming and I type a lot for both work and school, so the MX Brown is a godsend.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I started out with the K70 MX Red because the MX Brown was out of stock and I really needed a keyboard. I was very happy for the first two months, but when I got the email that the MX Brown was back in stock, I jumped at the chance. I just got it today and it's what I'm typing on right now; I can tell you that the MX Brown has no equal and is the superior keyboard in just about every way (even though they're exactly the same except for the key switches).

5 out of 5 eggsThis keyboard is the best

This review is from: Corsair Vengeance K70 CH-9000067-NA Black 6 Function Keys USB Wired Gaming Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: I got the Cherry MX Brown in "black" color with red LEDs. As a gamer who also does a ton of typing for work, I needed the best of both worlds. I can't think of a better keystroke the the Cherry MX brown for me. I've tried the MX red, and it feels too smooth. The Blue is too loud. The brown is smooth but your fingers know when you hit the key.

The LEDs are cool though I keep them off.

The tactile coating on the keys feels great under my fingers. Maybe as I "grease" the keys up over time that will change. for now feels amazing.

Sound knob is also A+. Great for gaming, 1ms response time.

Black brushed metal looks great.

Cons: Cable could be a little longer, I used to have a wireless keyboard and miss the flexibility, though it is still about 4-5 feet. Very thick cable, which is fine with me, but just something to keep an eye on.

5 out of 5 eggsOver joyed!

This review is from: Corsair Vengeance K70 CH-9000067-NA Black 6 Function Keys USB Wired Gaming Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: They made it again with brown switches! I purchased the gun metal finish with blue LEDs and fell in love this keyboard after installing o-rings! When I had to have one for the office, couldn't find one anywhere, when I saw this version I was over joyed!

Clean, simple, professional look with a small foot print

No bezel makes for easy cleaning and hard to damage with accidental liquid spills

Smart placement of the media keys with a amazing volume control

Hand rest has a nice feel and works well without being bulky

Backlighting is nice, and has a programmable mode which allows selection of which keys to illuminate and 3 levels of brightness

All the awesome that comes with a mechanical keyboard featuring cherry brown switches

Cons: I had to wait to for the new version to get another one!

Other Thoughts: Hands down the best keyboards I have used, the build quality is top notch.
