4 out of 5 eggsDas or Corsair?..your choice

Pros: This is my very first mechanical keyboard having used nothing but the cheapo membrane keyboards for as long as I can remember. Only other decent keyboard was my original IBM keyboard which came bundled with the very first IBM pc. For those who have never ever had a opportunity of typing with a mechanical keyboard do yourself a favor and treat yourself. Not only will you be amazed what a joy a mechanical keyboard brings but it will be easier on your fingers/and wrist. I had a opportunity to test out a few of them at the local pc megastore then armed with Newegg reviews my choice came down to either the Corsair or Das. Went with Corsair purchased on Newegg accessed via ebates dot com along with a cash rebate credit card and saved quite a bit when bundled with Eggsaver shipping (ugh!).
I find this keyboard quite a value but more importantly so much easier to type. Having now migrated off a membrane type keyboard I'm find myself still pounding away however it will take a few days before I can acclimate myself to now type gently. I suspect this keyboard will last for years but just in case it doesn't I can use the credit card company to double the Corsair warranty typically offered from all credit card companies.
I may just upgrade my household to mechanical keyboards seeing how nice and quickly I now type. Stay with Corsair or give Das a try?...decisions, decisions, decisions! Leaning towards Das simply because they are USB3, give educational discounts but most importantly provide you with 3 usb ports versus Corsair's one...slightly more expensive but not by that much...Corsair, are you listening?

Cons: The braided cable is quite stiff making it presently difficult to lay flat on my desk. Shouldn't be a ongoing issue as I will flex it until it lays flat to my liking. The keys are somewhat close to one another which is my biggest concern. I suspect Corsair purposely designed the keyboard this way since it forces the user to type properly leaving both your index fingers at the home position and minimize hand movement. The brightest setting for the backlight is quite bright and not to my liking. There are quite a few reviewers who voiced concerns some of the keys eventually had non functioning lights so I will leave my illumination at the lowest setting just to minimize burnt out led's.
Eggsaver shipping is still terrible but getting better. From order submission to delivery of this keyboard took 4 days which for me was excellent. Prior eggsaver delivery times took over a week even when Newegg had the item in stock across the river at their Secaucus warehouse.
Each key appears to have printed letters or numbers which are not as durable as laser etched keys which Das offers on all their keyboards.

Other Thoughts: If you have a educational email the Das mechanical keyboard appears to be a better deal than Corsair otherwise this K70 is worth the $119

5 out of 5 eggsIncredible Typing experience

Pros: -Cherry MX Blues soft, tactile feel with every keystroke.
-Modifiable Backlighting
-USB Passthrough port
-Soft, Never Chafing wrist wrest
-Solid Aluminum Construction
-Media Keys
-Windows Lock keys
-Long thick braided Cable

Cons: -Rather obviously for Cherry Blue switches, it's very loud
-Included WASD Keys are uncomfortable to the touch, I prefer not using them
-USB Port is 2.0 not 3.0 (Not a problem though)

Other Thoughts: This keyboard is an incredible typing experience, which works incredibly for gaming and typing alike. As someone who is quick to start writing a 10 page thesis as soon as open up a competitive match of CS:GO, this keyboard provides an unquestionably grand experience for the user. I'm a huge fan of all of Corsairs products, and will continue to buy them in the future.

4 out of 5 eggsFirst mechanical kb!

Pros: -love the clicks
-love the lights
-love the feel of the keys
-keys are very responsive

Cons: My one gripe is that it doesnt feel as ergonomic as i hoped it would be. After several hours of gaming, my wrist is cramped.

Other Thoughts: Overall, GREAT KEYBOARD!

4 out of 5 eggsFantastic Keyboard

Pros: It looks amazing, and feels amazing. The keys are wonderful and are so satisfying to type on. I'm currently typing this on a membrane laptop keyboard and it just feels awful. Comes with extra keys, and a nice bright backlight. The aluminum base is amazing, especially when it's nice and cold in the morning. And the media keys (Mainly volume wheel) are fantastic.

Cons: The cord isn't detachable, not a huge deal since the board isn't really portable anyways, but would have been nice. Kind of expensive, but I got mine for only $10 more than a Quickfire board. The extra keys are kinda hard to type on. And the backighting is noticeably uneven on some keys.

3 out of 5 eggsLoved it while it lasted

Pros: The keyboard looks great and comes with a variety of mxswitch choices. I really like the contoured WASD keys for FPS gaming. I have the Gunmetal/BlueLED version and I love the aesthetic. Also I am a big fan of the volume scroll wheel. The key board itself feels very solid which is nice when you are paying so much money for a keyboard. I also really like the lock windows key button at the top of the board. very handy if you tend to fat finger things like I do.

Cons: I really liked this keyboard but about 2 weeks after the warenty was up LED's started dying. Apparently this is a common problem with the K70. It has now been 16 months of owning the K70 and I have 13 dead LED's. Everything on the Keyboard functions perfectly other than the LED's. The only other con I can think of is the relatively low number of light pastern options (no breathing, waves, etc.)

Other Thoughts: In summation, if the LED's wern't dying on me this would be the best Keyboard I have every owned but because of this issue I am hesitant to buy this brand again.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome keyboard

Pros: Wonderful keyboard.
Very responsive, looks amazing (and the varying brightness settings are nice). The keyboard is a bit smaller than my last, but I was able to adjust extremely quickly. It's overall fantastic, and the media buttons and usb ports are a nice touch.

Cons: Absolutely none, as of yet. Everything is working as intended and advertised.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: Does NOT have the new "Corsair Gaming" logo
Very solid
Nice LED's
Clicky clicky clicky

Cons: Very soon after buying this keyboard it dropped $20, which is a timing con on my part :/

Other Thoughts: Newegg will show you a "newer product available" when looking at this keyboard, but unless you're into the new logo and a overall cheaper looking keyboard (in my opinion) this keyboard seems more appealing.

5 out of 5 eggsI love this keyboard!

-all blacked out
-very durable
-plug it in and it works no software needed
-back lighting can be turned off
