1 out of 5 eggsCannot submit support request for keyboards!

Pros: great feeling. the lighting is killer

Cons: software is a little clunky, but I have been able to figure it out for the most part. What really upsets me though is that you cannot submit a technical question to their support because THERE IS NO CATEGORY TO SUBMIT A QUESTION FOR THESE KEYBOARDS in their "ask a question" submission form. Really pretty unprofessional seeing as how this is supposed to be one of their flagship models.

Other Thoughts: I really want to give this 5 stars! but since I am unable to get technical support I am forced to try and go back to where I bought it from in the hopes that someone from Corsair will notice so i can ACTUALLY ASK A QUESTION. If Corsair will help me out i will give this a much better review.

Manufacturer Response:

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Product, Weird Software.

Pros: The keyboard is amazing the lighting is great and the MX switches are amazing. Since i am a college student i have to type a lot sometimes in the dark which this keyboard is great for, but in my spare time gaming in this is keyboard feels great and responsive.

Cons: This was more of a pain to install than what it should have been, I had troubles with my 2.0 USB ports which will cause my keyboard to bug out and say inside its software that it was malfunctioning and it would not turn off the LED when i completely turned off my comp so i had to mess in the bios a bit and changed to 3.0 USB ports for that to stop, software it self is great but still kinda weird to me so i just set the light scheme i wanted and left it alone.

Other Thoughts: I have had this keyboard for about 4 days now and i love it, amazing when typing and gaming. a bit of a rocky start to owning this keyboard, but after a couple hours of frustration i could then enjoy my keyboard like i should. love it, but it really needs a software update.

3 out of 5 eggsK70 Vengeance RGB

Pros: Okay, I'm gonna get some slack for the three star rating but it's for a good reason.

The keyboard itself looks PHENOMENAL. Even with the lighting off, you can tell it's pure quality. The keys are very soft feeling, it's hard to describe the experience with typing on this board, but there's no downside to it at all. Cherry MX RGB Red switches, so you know what to expect. The audio/media controls at the top right are incredibly convenient, but mostly go unused, for me. They also light up just like the rest of the keys (as do the Brightness and Windows Lock buttons)

Cons: No key puller, no extra 1-6 and WASD, QWER or Up/Down/Left/Right keys, and no USB Passthrough (there should be, considering most modern day motherboards have at least two USB 3.0 ports, one for the keyboard and lights, the other for the passthrough) but it was left out for complete compatibility which I cannot completely shame Corsair for.

My one gripe is that it's either the hardware or the software that makes my R key stick wrong colors, I can turn the lighting off on the board for a while to reset it, but the issue is persistent and it's not a problem with the coloring profiles or modes or anything through the software.

For these reasons I have to deck two eggs. Very rarely does a product get 5 stars unless there's absolutely no flaws, or the flaws are resolved on a newer or alternative product (like height clearance on RAM but there's a low profile version of the same DIMM etc)

Dog hair magnet, but that's not a huge issue, it's easily resolvable with a key puller and can of compressed air. This is not what earned it one less egg.

Other Thoughts: I'm just glad I didn't get the Corsair Gaming trampstamp logo, that'd have been a deal breaker. Hopefully my R key isn't actually defunct, if software updates and firmware updates prove ineffective I'm not sure if I'll want a replacement because I am most likely not going to get the "Vengeance" board instead of the "Corsair Gaming" model, unless they actually pull through with making the same original board.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear customer,

We're sorry to hear that you're having troubles with the "R" key. Although you mentioned that it may not be a problem with the software/profile/setting, we suggest that you clear all the grouped keys in your profiles and see if you could change your R key to the color that you desire. If that doesn't resolve your issue, it may be possible that you have a defective keyboard and if that's the cause we will need you to submit a ticket at corsair.force.com or call us at 888-222-4346 and we'll send you a replacement keyboard.

1 out of 5 eggsDefective Keyboard...

Pros: Beautiful Corsair design. RGB.

Cons: As soon as I booted Windows, I noticed something off about the keyboard. When prompted to enter my password, the keyboard consistently would not function for about 5 seconds upon Window's boot. Also, the corsair software for the keyboard crashes A LOT. After dealing with all these issues, I decided to do check out how it works in Ubuntu. It doesn't work in Ubuntu. I thought that this was weird because I was able to navigate Asus's UEFI fine. After restarting a couple of times the keyboard stopped working entirely. GF Corsair.

Other Thoughts: Hopefully my keyboard was just defective. Although I've heard of others who have had problems in Ubuntu too.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear customer,

We're sorry to hear that your keyboard stopped working. Please give us a call at 888-222-4346 or submit a ticket at corsair.force.com so that we can take a better look at what caused the issue as well as send you a replacement.

2 out of 5 eggsI love/hate this keyboard.

Pros: This keyboard is amazing but has its issues. I've been working with this board for a month now and I love the idea of it. I can say this... being able to set the colors up for different things is great way of knowing what key to push in the time of battle. Setting up a macro for game play is cool and great for spamming :) . And since this is a Corsair product I had great customer support ( thank you Jacob). I would love to keep this keyboard but due to the issues it must be returned. As I type this... I still love it and wish it was perfect so I could keep it. I mean come on now... being able to change color profiles and macros for any game or program you use is a huge +. The black metal design is super sexy and strong. I love this keyboard! You will too... but wait for the bugs and problems to be fixed.

Cons: Firmware...its hard to understand but in time you learn. Took me almost 8 hours just to figure out everything I need to know about setting this up. I didn't have videos to show me or forums. It needs to be reworked and fixed. The firmware would get stuck on a profile and you won't be able to change it until you unplug the USB cord. Now this only happen when I spent long periods of time on one profile during a gaming session but once you tried to change back to the daily profile you made, it gets stuck. Then you must unplug and restart the Corsair Utility Engine in order to fix it.

Key lighting issues...I notice today that the key lights were beginning to change color on their own ( not part of the profile). Then I see that if you hit the key to hard the color was changing ( white would go to light blue, pink, light green color). Then after I saw that if I was to bump my desk or tap on the wrist rest the keys would change colors. This is bugging me so bad that it makes me sick.

Key dimming... The number keys along the top are dim compare to the !@#$%^&*()_+ part of the keys.

Power cord...Super thick and annoying...also it take up two spots on the USB ports. You must have both plugged in to enjoy this keyboard.

Price of this keyboard with all these issues is not worth it. I would keep it but only if I receive 30% off.

Other Thoughts: Now, I love this keyboard and I love Corsair. But I will not get another one until they fix the problems. Plus my keyboard is not the same as it was pictured. The Corsair logo on the top of the board shows the old logo and not Corsair Gaming. People.. understand Corsair is great! The products they have are beyond great... but when they rush something because of a release date then except issues and bugs. Would I buy this keyboard again... YES! Would I recommend Corsair to friends...YES! But only when they fix the problems will I give them money for this board.Until then I go back to my old keyboard of shame and wait for the keyboard of my dreams to be fixed. Newegg is amazing, understanding and the only place I will order from. They take good care of me and my needs. I will miss this keyboard and all the cool features it has to offer but fix the issues and I will return to buy another one!

Manufacturer Response:

Dear customer,

Thank you for the review. We are sorry to hear that you're having troubles with the software and backlight acting on its own. Generally when a profile is attached to a specific game or program, the colors/macros assigned to that profile should revert to whatever the default profile is when the game or program is closed; if the settings from the profile created for that game/program persists, then it is clearly a bug and we would like to know which game or program was in use that caused this. As for the lighting affects that appear even though it wasn't programmed in an existing profile, it is possible that it enters demo mode. There are a few ways trigger Demo mode, such as plugging the keyboard into a powered USB hub/pass-through while the PC is off or if the keyboard is being powered but isn't transferring any data (if the PC is sleeping or off and still providing power via USB ports) and after about 30-45 seconds it should enter Demo mode. Unfortunately there's no way to remove demo mode from the keyboard, although if you press ESC or the Space Bar it should take you out of demo mode. If this doesn't resolve your issue, please contact Customer Support team by submitting a ticket at corsair.force.com or calling us at 888-222-4346 and we'll be more than happy to take a look at these issues.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing!

Pros: This keyboard is absolutely fantastic, well built and beautiful lighting. Braided cable and came with a palm rest. Perfect

Cons: The software can be difficult to understand but learning something is different for everyone, but it's software so it can be patched which is relatively easy.

4 out of 5 eggsNot Quite Perfect

Pros: -Aesthetically superior; visually pleasing with customization
-Very practical media keys and volume knob
-Highly sturdy construction

Cons: -Difficult software to learn
-Software is buggy (especially when changing brightness)
**-Inconsistent key feel

Other Thoughts: ** This is the deal-breaker for me, and I have already requested refund for this very issue: the keys feel inconsistent.

I have owned a K70 w/ blue LEDs for about a year, and some of its LEDs died so I bought a RGB to replace it.

However, the key-press on the RGB feels inconsistent and even rough or gritty on some keys. It is both noticeable to the feel and to the ear.
I gave it a week of heavy typing use to see if there's a 'break-in' period, but i detect little to no improvement.

This issue causes typing discomfort and inaccuracy, as my finger will instinctively double-press a key that feels inconsistent with the others.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsVery good Keyboard

Pros: -Great Red switches
-Customization is amazing
-Very sturdy/strong keyboard
-Love the media part of the Keyboard.

Cons: -Takes a bit to get used to the program
-Could be a wee bit brighter

Other Thoughts: All in all its a great keyboard. The customization once you get use to the program is fantastic. I have it set to light up the keys i hit red or when I hit my numbers it shoots a line of colors thorough the keyboard. The switches are not too loud but not too quiet(I like the sound). And its a good size for a smaller desk as well. Would buy again.
