4 out of 5 eggsGreat Qualiy, but missing a key feature.

This review is from: Corsair Gaming K70 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Cherry MX Brown

Pros: - The keyboard's frame / body is aluminum, meaning the build quality is great.

- The quality is there as well with the keys. They're plastic like most keyboards, but they all feel "substantial".

- The lighting is even and can get very bright or dim (customizable in the software). You can even customize how the lights work. You can have the light periodically strobe or wave across the keyboard in rainbow colors. My favorite is the typing ripple effect where ripples of light emanate from each key you press and spread out across the keyboard like when a stone is dropped into a calm body of water.

- The cable is thick and braided.

- Corsair's warranty is 2 years.

- Cherry MX Brown switches give tactile feedback without the audible clicks of the MX Blue.

Cons: - The cable is thick and hard-wired into the keyboard

- The keyboard could require plugging in both USB cables (the end of the cable splits into two USB A-type plugs) if you do not have a USB 3.0 port.

- The keyboard does not have a USB pass-through port and no pass-through for audio (headsets) like similar offering from Razer and Logitech.

Other Thoughts: Overall, this keyboard is great. The customizability of the backlighting is great, has many options. The build quality of the keyboard is great. It's not going to die before the two year warranty ends.

It's a little expensive though at $169.99.

The MX Brown switches are quiet (I personally like the "clicky-ness" of the MX Blues), but at least you do get some tactile feedback with the Browns.

5 out of 5 eggsI was blind, but now I see

This review is from: Corsair Gaming K70 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Cherry MX Brown

Pros: -Metal construction
-Clean/Sharp Design
-Volume controls are excellent
-Key action and Sound

Cons: -no USB passthrough....this is really the only gripe I have. The other cons I included just because I think others may be bothered by them.
-girthy braided cord
-requires 2 USB plugs
-backlight just stays on all the time. Like a nightlight but much brighter

Other Thoughts: Love, love, LOVE my fancy, clackety keyboard with all the pretty lights. I had no idea keyboards could be like this - been doing IT work for years but somehow had never been exposed to such a nice 'board. My fingers thank me every day.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than I expected!

This review is from: Corsair Gaming K70 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Cherry MX Brown

Pros: - Great lighting effects, you can literally do anything
- Quick brightness toggle to turn lighting off when you're watching a movie
- Premium feel

Cons: - The white lighting has a blueish-green tint

Other Thoughts: This was my first mechanical keyboard and the first time I've used browns. I was told there was a tactile bump when you press the key down, but it's not that noticeable to me.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome mechnical keyboard, with tons of color options to pick from!

This review is from: Corsair Gaming K70 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Cherry MX Brown

Pros: Looks feels and sounds great!
Tons of color presets such as spiral-rainbow, sweeping colors, colors that ripple out from keys you press, etc.
Sturdy build with a metal frame, feels solid!
Optional wrist rest

Cons: The wrist rest will droop down if you life the keyboard as it slides in but doesn't snap in.
Not cheap when you can get a regular keyboard for $20
Takes 2 USB ports and has no ports on it. (might not be an issue for most but my Motherboard usb ports are nearly full)

Other Thoughts: This cost me $140, and I think for the price you get a quality product. This keyboard is a good entry level mechanical keyboard for those who don't want to spend several hundred bucks but want more than a few color options. The software was not hard to use in my opinion, at least if you only want to change through the various presets as mentioned above, or set the individual keys colors. If you want to go into the more advanced options, yes it's more complicated but totally not necessary if all you wanna do is play with color and display options.

Finally, there is a bios switch on the back of the keyboard which I believe can be used (there are 4 settings on it) to make the keyboard work before installing the software. Initially I had to install the corsair software before the keyboard would work so I had to use my old keyboard to log into my computer and go to their website. (no cd included).

Final Thoughts: This thing is awesome, I really enjoy the sound feel and look of it. I'm very happy with my purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Keyboard

This review is from: Corsair Gaming K70 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Cherry MX Brown

Pros: Solid quality build. Excellent key feedback. Bright LEDs. Volume roller. Small footprint.

Cons: I just wrote a long review and lost it during preview... CUE software stinks. No extra gaming key caps or key puller. No USB hub.

Other Thoughts: This is a great keyboard but if you think you're going to plug it in and have the ultimate control over lighting out of the gate, prepare to be disappointed. The CUE software is its Achilles Heel, but otherwise it is the best keyboard I've ever used. I installed 2 O-rings on each key that makes a big difference in noise and travel while leaving functionality intact. I have to plug in both of the USB leas into USB 3.0 ports to make it work, unlike what some other reviewers have experienced. I love the Cherry MX Browns for their relative quiet and feedback. The built-in lighting profiles are customizable and are all I need to enjoy the RGB features. Re-mapping keys is relatively painless and I was able to create shortcuts in a few function keys to launch my preferred programs.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing keyboard corsair

This review is from: Corsair Gaming K70 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Cherry MX Brown

Pros: love the fact that it's brown switches. Love the response time on the keyboard and love the fact that their software is easy to use for basic things and yet if you want to change everything you can. It's fantastic.

Cons: 2 gripes. 1 it costs more than an standard corsair k70 non rgb which is fine but they didn't put a usb passthrough on the keyboard. Also with the other keyboards they include different keycaps for numbers 1-6 and wsad and didn't include them on this keyboard that to me doesn't make any sense at all they should of included those. I had to spend 20$ just to get the replacement keycaps but those should be included in

Other Thoughts: overall amazing keyboard and i am so happy i switched from my old keyboard love the keys and i had a red but i like browns a ton more.

5 out of 5 eggsQuality keyboard

This review is from: Corsair Gaming K70 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Cherry MX Brown

Pros: -Great build quaility
-New logo (Not the ugly gaming one)
-Keys feel nice although I got new ones.
-Love the brown switch. At first I got reds for the K70 RGB but I didn't like the feel of it since I was coming from the blue switches.

Cons: -Pricey but I don't mind too much
-No USB pass-through
-Odd key sizes for the bottom row (Such a pain trying to find different keycaps)

Other Thoughts: Not sure why there are a bunch of meh reviews. I guess time will tell with how well this keyboard holds up. I'll update my review if anything changes.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent keyboard

This review is from: Corsair Gaming K70 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Cherry MX Brown

Pros: Cherry MX Brown switches
RGB backlights
Solid construction
High quality feel

Cons: Software does not want to save my profiles some times

Other Thoughts: I don't seem to be having any of the issues other people had with the K70 RGB. None of my keys stick, all my LEDs work and are bright, and I didn't get a refurbished model.

Overall, I like the feel of MX Brown's a lot more than I like the feel of MX Blue's. Blue switches are way too clicky for my tastes and are a lot louder over. Don't get me wrong, the brown switches are loud, but they don't get annoying after a long period of typing or gaming.

Build quality is excellent on this keyboard.

Overall, the K70 is a good buy, especially if you can get it for cheap like I did.
