5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: BEST KEYBOARD EVER. Great for typing and gaming. Very solid build. Highly repairable for anyone who can solder.

Cons: Annoys at least one co-worker.

Other Thoughts: Research and try out (if possible) key switch types before buying a keyboard.

5 out of 5 eggsI can't move on

Pros: The tactile feedback, feel, and look of the keyboard is just pure awesome.

Before owning it, and to this day - I keep playing with other mechanical keyboards, but I cannot find it in myself to replace this bad boy.

Cons: The height-feet don't have rubber bottoms when in use.

USB ports in a somewhat intrusive spot

Costs an arm and a leg

Once you go black...

Other Thoughts: Know where all your symbols are before you buy!

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: very nice clicky feel when you type, great tactile feedback. has a lot of weight to it and feels high quality, i like how it doesn't slide around at all cuz its heavy

Cons: two keys were broken upon delivery. (see other thoughts) also doesn't have any media controls (volume, mute, etc), and because the keys are not labeled and it doesn't come with a manual you have no way of knowing if the keyboard actually has a 'Fn' key for these controls but you just dont know about it.. but after checking on the daskeyboard website i have concluded it does not.

Other Thoughts: im sure newegg would send me a replacement because it arrived with broken keycaps, but i dont wanna wait so I just bought some new keycaps and moved the page up/page down keys over in the meantime. also it is a little difficult to double tap on as should be expected with cherry mx blue switches because thats just the way they work. But being my first mechanical keyboard it doesn't really matter because its still infinately faster than double tapping on rubber domes.

3 out of 5 eggsI Did Not Buy This

Pros: I Did Not Buy This
It looks like it might be solidly built

Cons: No way to know what key is what, except for the 'f' and 'j' keys.

This isn't a problem if you know the layout, but some keyboards switch up the CTL / ALT / Windows keys, may have 1 or 2 Windows keys, and put the Home, End, '-', '+', Page Up/Down keys in different places.

Even if you know where they are, do you use them so often that you don't have to look? Not me, and I haven't needed lettering to know where the alphanumeric keys are for more than 35 years.

Other Thoughts: The whole 'no lettering' thing could have been better thought out. Identify everything above and to the right of the non-alphanumeric keys and it's a good idea. Leaving that off really makes the thought of using this unappealing at best.

Tell me honestly you don't have to look at the keyboard you're already using to find the scroll lock key. I never use it, and you probably don't either, so try this instead:

On the picture of the Das keyboard, point out the print-screen, Num Lock, Home, and Page Down keys. I bet you use them occasionally... and how about '/', '*', and '-' on the keypad?

5 out of 5 eggsNext Level

Pros: Don't laugh but I was playing Fallout 3 and whenever you hack a computer in the game you get the clicky clack keystroke sound that this keyboard makes and it is fantastic. Music to the ears. After playing the game, I remembered Das Keyboard and have always wanted one. Finally bought one and I love it. The thing looks awesome on my desk too.

The keys are satin and the housing is gloss which makes it look and feel beautiful and well built. This thing is a tank in weight. I like that it feels like a rock. Has USB ports on the side 2.0 that are great if I want to quickly plug in thumb drives or phones or what not.

Installation was easy and it comes with a USB pass through for the side ports and a USB with a PS2 adapter if you want for the keyboard.

Cons: Glossy and black so smudges can be seen, but comes with a microfiber cloth to clean it up.

packaging let me down. Presentation needs to be upped on this amazing keyboard.

Other Thoughts: Obviously loud so consider having an office with a door so you don't drive everyone crazy.

Keeps plebs off my keyboard which is both funny and useful.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product.

Pros: Great construction, Awesome aesthetic, and it'll definitely make you a better typist. (Hard work is required.)

Cons: 2 USB 2.0 inputs, instead of 3.0.

(Hot a huge deal, but 3.0 support would be nice!)

Other Thoughts: Want a challenge? get this keyboard. It'll push you to be a better geek, and you'll look great while doing it.

5 out of 5 eggsEven for Hunt and Peck

Pros: Amazing feel, sleek look, it is really just a wonderful keyboard. I hunt and peck, and still easily maintain 130 WPM with 98 % accuracy even on a board with no visible keys. I would suggest this keyboard for anyone with typing experience and if you are afraid to buy this board because you hunt and peck don't be. You will not see any difference as your muscle memory already knows what to do. This is one of the best purchases I have made in some time and I think it actually may increase my WPM over time.

Cons: The board is glossy black so you will need to clean it every so often ( not really a con but whatever )

Other Thoughts: Buy this keyboard, you won't regret it.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing keyboard

Pros: -150% speed increase
-Nice tactile feel
-Clicky switches make me happy
-USB2.0 hub for my flash drives

Cons: -Could have been cheaper, but I've had no problems with it.

Other Thoughts: I don't know why people are complaining, I met the owner of the company in Austin, TX at RTX at their booth and their demo keyboards were amazing so I bought one.

1 out of 5 eggsDas Keyboard of Hype

Pros: Sounds and feels great to type on when it works. USB hub still works.

Cons: Made in Taiwan, and died in 2 weeks.

Other Thoughts: A $XXX keyboard should last longer than 2 weeks. I bought another keyboard (for the same price) with cherry MX blues after this one died, with more features and the keys have significantly less play.
