5 out of 5 eggsThis keyboard. WOW!

Pros: This keyboard is more than i was hoping for. The fact that it is my first mechanical keyboard does have a part in it but wow this thing is amazing! The way this creation types is really outstanding and makes you feel like you're typing on a never ending track of spot on key strokes. The cherry MX brown switches are definitely my favorite and are phenomenal to type on. I was a bit skeptical about the glossy finish but it barely barely attracts any prints HONESTLY! And don't get me started with the cleaning cloth they provide h0ly cow that's one piece of majestic cloth. now im just typing randoms stuff cause this keyboard is fantastic.

Cons: No wrist wrest included. No key puller included. Cable is not braided. Bit pricey.

Other Thoughts: Even though pricey if you have the money and you're looking for a fantastic gaming and typing keyboard do yourself stop being cautious and buy this keyboard.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome keyboard

Pros: Great mechanical keyboard awww yiss

feels great to touch.. and type...mmmmmmm so smooth im typing on it right now and its like orgasms on my fingers..
...oh and feels good to type on and game with too i guess.. definitely can feel the difference

has USB port on the side for flash drive or something or to finger... (i dont recommend sticking body parts in it)

different font for the characters unlike other keyboards

looks cool

easy to clean

Cons: USB port on the side of the keyboard gets really hot after use

doesnt light up(but they dont advertise it as such either)

dont know if its just me, my PC, or the keyboard but i had my USB drive plugged in the USB on the keyboard and a while later my windows explorer started bugging out. never had the issue before that or since i took it out and rebooted. but i havent tried to use the USB ports since then either.

Other Thoughts: only thing that sucks that i didnt really think that would matter is the letters/numbers lit up. I knew about this before i bought it though so thats shouldnt be a con

also took 1 egg off because of the USB issue i had with it

oh and also the keyboard shell is glossy so it gets dirty and smudgy easily but does not impact performance.

5 out of 5 eggsKicking myself for waiting too long

Pros: I'm loving my new Professional "MX Brown" keyboard. It reminds me of the old electric typewriters back in 1984 or 1985 when I was learning how to type. I have been using my Mac G4's keyboard that is about 12 years old. It was good to finally retire that thing and just use it when I need to get my Mac out.

Now that I have a better keyboard to use, I'm having to relearn how to type properly. This keyboard is making it very easy to get back into it.

When I went to work today, I had to use the Dell keyboard that came with the computer. I can tell a difference!! It felt clunky to use after using my Das for one day.

Cons: Didn't come with a key cap puller when you need to clean the keyboard.

Other Thoughts: I highly recommend this if you're a fast typist and play games secondary. It works great for both.

5 out of 5 eggsSimply awesome

Pros: - click tactile feel
-curved keys to help your fingers find the center based on touch
- very well made
- 2 USB 2.0 ports on the right side
- nice and long (2 m) USB cable

Cons: Not cheap

Other Thoughts: I used to work in technology. I am now a college professor. In both jobs, I did my fair share of computer work. I have owned almost every processor architecture sine the very first IBM PC. I always loved the original IBM keyboard, and I found that my typing has become far less accurate over the years -- in part, due to age -- but also due to the cheap membrane keyboards that I have had no choice but to use for the past 20 years. I have been using a Microsoft Elite since the 90s (wore 3 out since then), but when I came across this keyboard a few months back, it peaked my interest. I just purchased on when I bought the parts for my new rig. Wow -- this is really nice. It has an awesome feel, the keys are perfectly placed, and the unit has a very substantial feel to the materials used and the build quality. I have been using it now for about a week, and I like it the more I use it. In fact, I feel a little foolish having not gotten one sooner. It's not cheap, but it's definitely worth it -- IMHO. If you take your typing seriously, or if you simply spend a lot of time behind a computer screen, you owe it to yourself to give this a good hard look. I doubt that I will be buying a new keyboard ever again.

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding keyboard

Pros: Very nice tactile feel of it and layout is excellent for my typing. Nice piano finish on it. Never have any problems of having fingerprints all over it.

Cons: None so far. Just remember that "silent" part is being compared to the MX Blue switches.

Other Thoughts: At home I used to have a m$ ergo membrane keyboard but I had to replace it due to some keys not working properly. I never thought I would have issues with going to a straight keyboard instead of the ergo style since I use a laptop keyboard at work. Love the sound it makes when I'm typing.

1 out of 5 eggskeys get stuck

Pros: Good tactile/audio feedback; cable length.

Cons: durability

Other Thoughts: This is my [second] das keyboard, i had to buy a new one because some keys were getting stuck.
Now the same is happening with the second one just a week after the warranty expiration date. I've just contacted das keyboard in hope of a replacement. For now I'm sticking ( pun intended ) with my rating until this matter is resolved.
I have just received a response from das keyboard and their solution is to provide me with a replacement keyboard for [just] 75 USD because the current one is out of warranty -- be this a warning to you.

5 out of 5 eggsI think i just bought my last keyboard.

Pros: Solid and heavy at about 3lbs. Very fast to type on with nice sound without being crazy loud like cherry blues. Makes my want to type. Sure it's a bit pricey but I'm confident this baby will last.

Cons: non

Other Thoughts: I've always felt it's best not to skimp on input devices. Piano black wouldn't be my first choice but far from a deal breaker.

5 out of 5 eggsQuality Keyboard

Pros: -High quality, the first thing I noticed when I took this out of the box was how heavy it is. It feels solid like it will last for a very long time.

-Sleek, I got this primarily for gaming. I've owned big gaming keyboards in the past with fancy lights and a ton of macro keys but the truth is I've never used them, not even once. I decided I wanted something streamlined without all the extra bells and whistles. I'm pretty much over the light thing as well, maybe I'm just getting old.

-USB hub, this works great, can charge your phone, plug in a usb drive, tablet or whatever and transfer files. It takes up two usb slots to use but that shouldn't be a problem since you're gaining two more usb slots right there on your desktop.

-Clickity Clack, I decided I wanted a mechanical board. I spent weeks researching and reading about different switches. I was worried this board wouldn't have that satisfying click but there is absolutely nothing to worry about there. The brown switches are perfect for me. I share a computer room with my wife and she hasn't complained about them so that tells me they aren't too loud. I bought this for gaming but typing on it is very enjoyable. The keys are responsive and it's very comfortable to use for long periods of time.

Cons: -Left CTRL key, I noticed in the pictures that with the added function key the ctrl key is rather small. I play mostly BF3 and other FPS games and I use that key as my crouch so I use it quite a lot. I'm not taking an egg off because honestly it's something you get used to. I'm thinking in another month I won't even notice it anymore. It is something you're going to have to think about though if you use this for gaming.

-Glossy, not really a big deal but I'm trying to think of anything I can to put in the cons. They give you a little cloth you can use to wipe it down so really it's not that bad. It does attract dust and fingerprints though.

Other Thoughts: I've been buying parts on Newegg for 10 years and this is the first review I've ever written. That's because I feel that good about this keyboard but also I spent weeks looking at this and other keyboards in it's price range. It's not easy throwing down that much money on something you don't even have a chance to use first so I looked for every review I could find.

I'm 100% satisfied with this keyboard and I know I'll be using it for years to come. When (if) the day comes that I have to replace it there is a very good chance I'll buy another just like it.

Ok another reason I wrote this is just so I have a reason to type on it. If you're on the fence I say go for it.

5 out of 5 eggsA Joy to Type On

Pros: I have the MX Cherry Blue switch keyboard made before the change in manufacturer and the addition of the function keys. This soft touch model was purchased in order to have a quieter keyboard for working in an open office environment and while people were busy on the phones. Very impressed with the typing dynamics, the speed that I'm capable of while using this 'board, and also its lack of loud noise.

For my own purposes, I love the click sound of the Blue switches, but the Browns give up very little in terms of dynamics, while remaining friendly to coworkers.

For the purpose I'm using this 'board, which is to type, not game, I have found no real drawbacks thus far. It's fast, quiet, and just makes me happy when I'm typing. Good stuff

Cons: I suppose that I would have preferred the function key be somewhere else, because it makes for smaller Windows, ctrl, and alt keys, but I'm not really bothered by it enough to ding the manufacturer. I have yet to see any hint that there's a manufacturing defect, or any drop off of quality from the previous model. So, long story short, no cons.

Other Thoughts: You can see from this fairly lengthy review that I'm typing on the keyboard in question, and don't really want to stop. I've been busily thinking up reasons to type more since I hooked the darned thing up. While it may not *quite* be as magical as the keyboard that features the MX Cherry Blue switches, it's pretty darned close, and it's possible that people coming from the membrane keyboards will like the sound and feel even better. Get one, or get both, if you're a really typing snob.

5 out of 5 eggsImpressive, Skywalker

Pros: Top-quality craftsmanship
Useful USB hub

Cons: The left ALT key is a little oddly placed in tandem with the function key that has been added to the newer keyboards.

Other Thoughts: Something in the way she moves... extremely high-quality keyboard. It feels very elegant, like a balanced martial arts weapon. The key faces are sculpted to fit your fingers, and the speed/action/dynamics of the keystroke is just phenomenal. It took me several hours to get used to the key action after having used a previous budget Logitech board for a year, but I'm already starting to feel the great speed and clarity of typing that the DAS allows. This is an expensive, luxury item, but the price is worth the level of quality associated with such a piece of equipment. Highly recommended for people who type frequently.
