This ultra-durable keyboard is designed for heavy combat. The Cherry mechanical switch extends its lifespan to 50 million keystrokes. You can stop wasting time reaching for Macro keys all the way across the keyboard since its modular D-Pad can be adjusted to perfectly complement your hands natural gaming position. As we know, too many Macro keys lumped up together in the same place or split to all corners of the keyboard will only bring additional confusion and stress. AZIO’s simplistic design approach improves your speed and accuracy by keeping just 5 Macro keys to the immediate left and 6 additional ones (D-Pad) directly above your hand -- all at your fingertips.

What’s more, you can attach the Numeric Keypad on the left-wing of the Mech5 and instantly add 17 additional Macro keys to your arsenal. Or attach it to the right-wing and use it as a standard numeric keypad or leave it detached to make more room for your mice. Virtually all keys across the Mech5 are user programmable! In addition, this keyboard is designed to be water resistant, featuring special seals and drainage gutters. Spilling your drink on your keyboard is no longer an excuse for losing!

  • newegg Mechanical Keys The Cherry Black mechanical switch is widely believed to provide the best gaming experience. Featuring a linear design, the Cherry Black mechanical switch is ideal for rapid pressing of keys. And the right stiffness helps prevent accidental key presses.
  • newegg Fully Programmable Keys The included Software allows for full customization of the entire keyboard and 11 dedicated Macro-keys.
  • newegg Modular Design: The numeric keypad can be attached to either side of the keyboard or remain detached. The included Macro Keypad module is the first of many accessories that will take advantage of the keyboard’s rail system.
  • newegg Macro D-Pad The add-on Macro D-Pad expansion allows for 6 additional programmable keys. The expansion module rail enables custom positioning by sliding the D-Pad left or right.
  • newegg Anti-Ghost Ensures multiple commonly pressed keys register when pressed simultaneously.
  • newegg Water-Resistant Engineered to remain functional even if accidentally exposed to liquid. Do not flip or shake the keyboard and the liquid will properly drain itself.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat gaming keyboard

Pros: All keys feel very solid and highly responsive. Every key except the sound control is Cherry Black. Tons of extra keys with an infinite number of profiles. A few of my friends are left handed and I know they'd be grateful to know that the keypad can be easily switched to the left side of the keyboard.

Cons: Occasionally one of the keys might squeak, but this might be due to it being so new. I also find myself slowly sliding the keypad off its USB dock.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty Good for work!!!

Pros: water resistant. Solid build. stays foot. Xtra keys. Modular design.

Cons: Loud, Very Loud (but might be Pro, depends how U look at it). Thin wire for D keys board.

Other Thoughts: I have had this keyboard for about a month now.
I use this for my work. I wouldn't really say its "typer" friendly. My fingers feel little cramped (I am used to wide keyboards), it might be because of that, that I miss keys a lot. So accuracy kinda goes down, but thts only when I attempting to type at super speed. Usually its pretty good.
This thing is loud folks. It took my ears abt a week to get used to sound. I got a comment from my coworker, "you like loud keyboards right" So I am guessing it annoys them.
Best thing about this is water resistant. I am paranoid that some one will eventually spill my drink while coming over my desk (we slide across each others desk using our chair, so accident do happen). With this keyboard, I am not worried about my investment going to waste. The very first day, we did water spill test on it. Just dropped a bottle of water, and kept typing. hasn't had single problem till date.
The numpad when attached, makes this keyboard very wide. When I keep it on the right side (the usual position for numpad), the mouse feels far to reach. So I usually detach it. Then it becomes annoyance when I have to type IPs.
Extra keys are definitely big pros for this kb. Setting macros through the provided software are pretty st forward, but I can see some people having trouble with them.
Since I have it at work, obviously dnt do any gaming on, but when I am at home (gaming), I miss the extra Dpad on this thing. And keys being near to each other (cramped) would actually be better in tht scenario.
I say give it a try like I did, might stick with it, like I did.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Mech Keyboard

Pros: Keys are loud, but a true mechanical keyboard. Lots of extra buttons, which can be confusing when you are hardcore gaming. Outside of gaming, a decent keyboard.

Cons: Certain keys used during gaming, will stick when it comes to when you are typing an email. Very annoying. Will probably see if Azio will do an RMA to fix this problem.

Other Thoughts: Consider a refurb when it comes to buying a mech keyboard, mech keyboard or don't switch, doesn't really make a difference, unless you are using it for an MMO game.

4 out of 5 eggsNot what i expected

Pros: Lot of features, keyboard feels great.

Cons: I returned it because it just looked much cheaper in person, had a "fake" look to me. Also would've been nice to have backlit keys.

1 out of 5 eggsBroken Already

Pros: Looks nice and worked great, initially

Cons: Started noticing keys weren't registering, now the enter key doesn't work at all, not even a year old.

Other Thoughts: The keyboard I replaced this with was 3 years old and I only replaced it because it was damaged while moving. I saw this keyboard had good reviews, but clearly it can't even last 1 year. Without a functioning Enter key it's a bit pointless to even keep. Waste of money and a big disappointment.

1 out of 5 eggsThings were great...

Pros: Great feel, responsive, solid.

Cons: Keys have started failing within 2 months of owning. Tonight the "see" (sound it out) key has stopped working entirely. Maybe I just got a lemon, but for a high prised (typing this review without that key is going to be irritating) keyboard like this to have failures this soon is absolutely not ok.

Other Thoughts: Would not pay $100 for this ever again, nor would I pay a sale prise. My off brand keyboard lasted literally years without a single issue and I regret upgrading to this. Buyer beware.

1 out of 5 eggsNice while it lasted

Pros: Cheap price, Mechanical keys, Nice macro keys for gaming, Cool looking design

Cons: I really liked this keyboard until one day it just decided to stop working completely. Nothing would work when I plugged it in to any of my PC's like it just went completely dead and it was only after a few months of using it. When I tried to return it their customer support was a headache to work with so I eventually just gave up and bought a Razer.

Other Thoughts: It was really nice while it lasted and I wish it didn't die so fast. I'd give it 5 stars but the fact that it died only after a few months of gaming coupled with their horrible customer support I'd advise anyone to stay away from this. Apparently I wasn't the only one that this happened to.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Keyboard

Pros: This keyboard has Cherry MX Black switches which I feel are a great switch on the market. The modularity of the keyboard helps to let me make it the way I want. I also enjoy the programmable keys (16 in total) and enjoy the volume adjustment knob. The build quality is great and it even includes a button to disable the windows key. Even though the Cherry MX Black mechanical switches aren't known for typing I'm having no issue typing this review at a good pace.

Cons: My three biggest complaints, and only complaints have to be regarding that most of the keyboard isn't back-lit, the volume knob doesn't work in every situation, and the somewhat difficult to use software.

Other Thoughts: A definite buy in my book. If you're in the market for a nice keyboard this is one you should definitely consider!

4 out of 5 eggspretty happy :D

Pros: Great weight
Mechanical keys for a cheap price
Modular design
Macros

Cons: usb ports are a bit finnicky...
Thing is HUGE!! But I can detach my numpad so that helps

Other Thoughts: first I bought the aziocorp levitron clicker mechanical keyboard. Within a couple weeks paint was fading from shift ctrl alt z x c v f r e q keys... couple weeks after that c t i o l n keys all stopped responding to first keypresses unless I smacked em good...

opened an RMA ticket on azios website, and was PROMPTLY sent a replacement mech 5 (which I am now reviewing) had to give 4 stars due to the usb ports not liking being bumped... they could be a lot more solid, although Im sure some glue would fix that...

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible, DO NOT BUY

Pros: Okay, the keyboard is pretty cool and it does have some nice functionality with the buttons

Cons: Where the hell do I start? This $80 paperweight didn't last for but a month before the thing just completely stopped working. Not only that buy every time I hit one key it sounds like a nuclear bomb went off and it almost woke my wife up when i used it late at night. If I could give 0 eggs I would. Trying to return this thing but Azio has terrible customer support.

Other Thoughts: Probably never buying anything from Azio again unless their other products are not like this one.
