5 out of 5 eggsAZIO MGK1-RGB-BLU MGK1 RGB Gaming Keyboard

Pros: if there were 10 things to rate, ALL ten of them would be perfect. These KB's, are VERY well made, the braided cord is JUST slightly smaller than the diameter of a No.2 pencil, which is REALLY large, and beefy. the Keys are Kaith Blue, which are what i wanted, the LED implementation is Flawless, and the material the keys are made of is Very satisfying on your fingers. There are Several lighting modes, ALL of which are customizable, and configurable. I am VERY happy I bought this KB, and the $60 price tage was REALLY nice.

Cons: The only thing i can think of is that the Puctuation marks are inverted on this KB. I contacted the Manufacturer, and they told ME it is this way for Lighting purposes. I look @ the KB as I type, so it throws me off, but I hope to get over it.

Other Thoughts: buy this KB if You want a Really Nice Mech KB with FULL RGB support.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Keyboard and Customer Service

Pros: Keyboard feels solid and the RGB lighting is beautiful. (Not too bright or too dim, also adjustable)
I got the blue switches which has the clickety clack that some like but not too loud which is great
BEST THING is the customer service was quick and easy, unlike my expensive Ducky Shine that I still haven't heard a word about for weeks....

Cons: No Macros; if that is what you're looking for, which I wasn't. So not really a con for me.
Nothing else

Other Thoughts: A great cheap mechanical keyboard with an amazing customer service. I really recommend you buy from them because their products seem solid and the customer service is quick and easy.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than expected -- with a few quirks

Pros: This is a rock solid keyboard. I use it for work, not gaming and I am quite impressed. I had purchased a Corsair K70 which is going to be returned. The Azio offers a multitude of lighting options, easily accessed without having to install any software or drivers. But more importantly, the "blue" switches for the keys produce the right amount of "click" when typing (I had used one of the the legendary Northgate OmniKey keyboards for over 25 years before it gave up the ghost -- so I have experience with how a quality keyboard works). The volume control and mute bottom are nicely placed on the keyboard -- making them very convenient. All in all, a well-built, solid keyboard.

And as an added bonus, Azio's tech support is located in the USA and you get a knowledgeable live person immediately.

Cons: This keyboard, however, does have a few quirks. First, the key caps reverse the usual placement of the numbers and symbols by placing the symbols under the numbers -- which just feels unnatural after decades of using keyboards where the symbols are placed above the numbers. Similarly, the punctuation marks in the row of the shift keys are reversed so that the ones that require the shift key are on the bottom of the key cap. That's simply backwards. In just a few days of using this otherwise excellent keyboard, I've frequently gotten it backwards and failed to hit the shift key when necessary thanks to the reversed labeling on the key caps.

The User Guide has a bad typo which can leave users trying to set a single color for all the keys scratching their heads. On page 5 it instructs users to hit the FN+DEL key combination to stop the motion of the color flow when in Spectrum Cycling Mode. It should tell us to hit the FN+INS key combination instead. And that's the reason I called tech support. They allegedly will fix the typo in the PDF of the User Guide on their website. It may take a while to get it corrected in the printed manuals.

Other Thoughts: I realize that people rarely need tech support for a keyboard. But any tech company that places its tech support in the USA deserves some kudos for doing that. The one troubling issue I'm facing is that Azio will release a more advanced keyboard in the second quarter that will be a bit larger than this one and include some macro keys. I admit to being tempted to return this one and wait for the newer keyboard. Tough choice. But if you need a well-built keyboard now, the Azio MGK 1 RGB with its blue keys is a really good choice -- unless you prefer to type in near silence.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat keyboard, but not for the MSRP

Pros: I own both the MGK1 and the MGK1 - RGB they were both on sale for black Friday and couldn't pass up the sale for grabbing them for me and my girlfriend. This review will be for the MGK1 - RGB obviously.

Keys/Quality:

- Keys feel smooth and have a nice clicky sound to them but not with out some gripes which will be in the cons.
- The Volume scroll control is very nice and feels sturdy
- The overall feel of the keyboard feels very nice and doesn't feel cheap at all, though I cannot say how this would fair against other 150+ keyboards as I have only owned 50-130 dollar bracket keyboards and this so far is my favorite one.

Back Lighting:

- The RGB lighting is bright and the functions for different lighting are a nice touch.

- The brightness of the backlighting is much brighter then that of the MGK1 non RGB. You can also control it much better, you can either press once on the brighten/dimming key to go through preset light out puts or you hold on to them to dim/brighten manually to what you like.

- You can set certain colors to different keys if you want your hotkeys to differentiate from your other keys.

Cons: This are just my own personal gripes and maybe you might find the same when using this keyboard.

Keys/Quality:

- Like I put in the pros for the keys, they are smooth and clicky, but not across the whole keyboard. Space bar, Enter, Shift, and Back Space so far do not have the same clicky sound/feel as the rest of the keys on the board. So the feel of the keys on the board is not consistent across all keys. Its up to you if this is a deal breaker or not.

Back Lighting:

- RGB lighting is nice, but you cannot set one solid color to the whole keyboard, if you want one solid color you either
A: Let the color switching mode go through the sets of colors and try and perfect timing stop the animation of the color on the one you want.

B: You can individually set each key to one color across the whole keyboard with the manual key color setting functions (this one is the best way to do it but its annoying pressing every single key just to have one solid color across the keyboard.)

Other Thoughts: This keyboard is amazing and for the price that I grabbed it for I can't really complain too much about it. My cons are just what I noticed right off the bat so what I found to be a con may not bother some others on here. But if you are someone who has had the more premium K70 RGB or Razer I would say stick with that one for the time being. This board isn't worth the $150.00 MSRP (taxes included). If you are going to spend that much just go for a k70, but if you find this on sale like I did on black friday for $70-80 dollars(maybe $100 would be the highest) then I say you can't go wrong if you are first timer to Mechanical keyboards. Anyways hope this helps, enjoy if you purchase!

5 out of 5 eggsVery impressive!

Pros: *Tactile feedback and a nice audible click when typing.
*Aluminum front plate gives a premium look.
*Detachable UV coated wrist rest.
*Only uses 1 USB port to power keyboard and lights.
*LED's are nice and bright.
*Price.
*Volume knob.
*Generous three year warranty.
*No bloated software required that are sometimes prone to bugs, crashes etc...

Cons: *At the $80 I paid for the RGB edition, it's very hard to find cons with this.

Other Thoughts: I've got to say this keyboard was amazing for the price I paid. For the record I own a Blackwidow Chroma and used to own a K70 RGB and out of these three keyboards, I can positively say this is currently my favorite so far. Azio basically took the things I liked about the Blackwidow and K70 and combined it into one keyboard.

The lighting is nice and bright and almost up to the level of the Blackwidow and it's definitely brighter than the K70 RGB lighting which was a big complaint on that keyboard. The color spectrum cycle on this keyboard is extremely smooth with no flickering when changing colors.

When it comes to switches they use Kailh, for those that don't know, it's the same company that manufacturers Razer's Green/Orange switch found on their Blackwidow line. I've used both Cherry MX and Kailh "clicky blue" type variants and I find the Kailh switches just as good as Cherry MX and never had an issue with them. So for those on the fence definitely give it a try, the fact it comes backed with a three year warranty was also great as that's longer than all the big brands offer on their keyboards.

The other nice touches were a 6 foot braided cable that feels premium along with a nice aluminum finish that'll be less prone to scratches in the long run over a matte plastic body. The volume wheel is also something I love on keyboards and even the mute button on the volume wheel gives a crisp tactile feel not found on the more expensive Corsair K70 which instead had more of a mushy feel on their media controls, so I really like that attention to detail by Azio. You may not be able to play "Snake" or have audio visualizers on this keyboard like you can on the more expensive RGB keyboards with software but that's honestly something I never bothered with as I usually just set my keyboard to either the wave, spectrum cycle or a static color.

All in all, a great product from Azio and I'd definitely recommend it for those looking for a good RGB keyboard.

5 out of 5 eggsGet it!

Pros: i just got it today and i don't know why more people aren't jumping all over it! its everything i was expecting and more. LED are amazing. Its my first mechanical keyboard and i'm hooked! Yeah there not Cherry MX. But I don't give a @#$% i cant justify the extra 100 bucks for other Keyboards. I just got another one for my brother and if the price stays that way im getting more. Not joking. I got it for the office.

Cons: For $80 Bucks.....Notting

4 out of 5 eggspretty good

Pros: Pros:
-Nicely made
-Clicky (may be a con for some but I love the sound)
- Nice wrist rest
- Multitude of lighting settings
-Backlit
-Fast responsive keys

Cons: Cons:
-Unusual metallic spring noise when keys are bottomed out
-Poorly placed volume adjust wheel
-CTRL key seems to be the hardest key to press on the keyboard
-Sometimes the lighting indicator will stay blinking even when no lighting setting are selected

Other Thoughts: Overall a solid offering form AZIO. Keep in mind this does not use Cherry MX keys, instead it uses Kailh blu switches. This is the second mechanical keyboard i have owned my first being an IBM Model M which i managed to finally kill after about 7 years of heavy use. I am hoping that this keyboard will last me as long if not longer than the IBM. another thing to mention is that the volume adjust roller is somewhat inconvenient only if you are sitting farther away from your keyboard deck.
