2 out of 5 eggsWas great... while it worked

Pros: Nice form-factor, perfect for controlling media player (really makes youtube and other web services feasible)
Seamless installation - plugged the dongle into WD TV Live, turned it on - the keyboard was working
Back-lit keys and laser pointer are nice extras

Cons: Refused to sync with the dongle on the second day of use. No response to any type of attempted troubleshooting

Other Thoughts: The only reason I give it 2 stars, instead of one is that it was good while it lasted (one day). I've returned it and looking for a better device.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible

Pros: Not many. I Don't consider working as advertised as a pro so I don't right many of these. The product has to be very good (5 eggs) or very bad (1 egg). It doe's work with Ubuntu Linux. The Battery is rechargeable over UBS and holds a good charge.

Cons: The wireless is it's BIG down fall. As advertised it is supposed to work at 'up to 30 feet away'. I broke out the tape measure, and was 12 feet away. I had direct line of site with the dongle. I live in the mountains, no one in a 1/4 mile to interfere. So way does this keyboard, at random times, drop its signal. Then when you try to reconnect it stores your key presses in a buffer and on the reconnect it sends the WRONG KEY PRESSES!!! Oh ya the laser pointer was out of focus too.

Other Thoughts: Last saturday we had the septic tank pumped. That is were my VisionTek Candyboard 900319 now resides, right under the inlet. If a wireless divice won't work here, it won't work were your sitting.

5 out of 5 eggsGotta Plug it into the front, Duh!!

Pros: Small form factor. RECHARGABLE!! Great Range. Fairly easy to work with. I use this w/ my HTPC from 20' on a 52" LCD. The mouse scrolling is great. Typing is like texting on new phones. If your looking for the fuctionallity of a fullsized keyboard and mouse, keep looking. This keyboard is the about the same size as a cell phone. 6"(L)x2.5"(W)x1/2"(Thick). I have plugged it into an old PC(Pentium 4), Dell Laptop(2 core), PS3, & a modern PC. It worked in all of them.

Cons: I have large hands. The only con for me is I want to wrap my index fingers around the front while holding it. Bad idea. It don't work so good like that ;). I have to keep my fingers underneath for it to work from a distance. Also, You gotta plug the receiver into the front(think line of sight). I bought a USB extender cable here on the egg for less than 2 dollars which enabled me to shut the front door on my HTPC and still use this remote. Non of these cons are worth an Egg though.

Other Thoughts: New Eggs super slow egg saver shipping. It blows. I know they want you buy the 2nd day offer which is free for 30 days. Then it cost 79 a year. Thats to much IMO. So after years of buying from New Egg I'm now looking to other eTailers for better shipping. Free 3 day shipping was instrumental in defining New Egg's great reputation. I can only hope they haven't jumped the shark.

4 out of 5 eggsA few flaws but still good.

Pros: We bought this to use in our home theater setup for when we are watching TV shows on Hulu or similar sites. It works great for our purposes. It also has a laser pointer, which is additional added entertainment with our pets.

Cons: It seems to go to sleep when it sits for a while. This is good on conserving battery life but there is a bit of a lag to get it going again and the mouse movement stutters on screen. If you were using this for a presentation, as it was intended for, this lag could cause some issues during your presentation. The laser pointer is useless in bright light as well, which could also be bad for presentations.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome equipment!!!

Pros: The Candyboard small form factor (roughly the size of a large remote) is easy to work with I have had no noticeable issues between key press and action on screen.

Cons: The only real con I can find is that from time to time one or more keys will stick sending multiple signals to the screen. Easily fixed by pressing any other key on the board and problem resolves.

Other Thoughts: The laser that is built in is a great way to give your dog exercise.

2 out of 5 eggsFail

Pros: Newegg's return policy

Cons: None. I am sorry I didn't pay more attention to the negative reviews before I bought this. I bought it for an HTPC with the receiver in a front panel USB port only across a small condo living room from where I would have liked to use it. The range is so bad that I had to sit on the floor directly in front of the TV and computer for it to work properly. The touchpad no matter how much I adjusted it never was more than sketchy at best. Typing on the keyboard was inconsistent and missed as many letters or inputs as it displayed. I tried changing the frequency by the directions several times in case it was interference causing the poor performance but nothing helped.

Other Thoughts: It is small and cool looking. I really wanted it to work properly but it just doesn't. It is disappointing and now I have ordered a regular wireless keyboard and mouse to control my HTPC. I did not want this on my coffee table but there was no other choice.
Newegg issued an immediate RMA and I sent it back and should receive a refund minus a stout re-stocking fee plus shipping from Florida to California. It was an expensive lesson.

1 out of 5 eggsLesson learned

Pros: Not one. This is a shameful product.

Cons: So frustrated with this thing I had to review it. Range is just awful. I mean AWFUL! Line of sight, less than 9ft to the HTPC, the signal is junk, NO software to fine tune the touchpad, and the list goes on and on. I should have bought the "generic" version directly from China for half the money. I did not want to wait to get it. If this item had better range, it would be decent, but as it is, this item should be recalled and discontinued. ITS THAT BAD.

Other Thoughts: I have spent tens of thousands of dollars through Newegg through the years, and this might be the worst one yet. Stop selling this item. Do yourself a favor, and get a touchscreen app for your smartphone and save $50

1 out of 5 eggsVisionTek Candyboard 900319

Pros: Nice size and layout.

Cons: This has to be the most frustrating item I have ever bought. The touch pad is almost useless. When the keyboard is not in use the cursor darts around the screen on it's own. I can't adjust the mouse sensitivity since getting to that menu item is a task that would require being able to control the cursor. When I need to use this HTPC I usually connect another keyboard and mouse.

Money wasted, but lesson learned.

Other Thoughts: The next time I buy a mini keyboard I'll make sure it has a track ball.

Wish I could rate this zero eggs.

4 out of 5 eggsPerfect size. Touchpad janky.

Pros: I really like that this is no bigger than a remote. I get good range on this. It's for my HTPC and it's perfect for that. I've tested range out to about 30 ft and never had an issue.

Cons: Touchpad can be a little finicky Sometimes it does not pick up my touch. Cranking up the mouse sensitivity in Windows helps. P

Other Thoughts: I've been really happy with this purchase. For the guy with the two foot range, that's not right and you should get it replaced.
