5 out of 5 eggsVery nice

Pros: does as advertised, haven't experienced any of the problems other reviewers mention.
-good range
-good connectivity
-touchpad isn't as smooth as an apple trackpad, but is decent.
-i have pretty big fingers, and the keys seem big enough, with enough spacing between them (though i have learned to type proficiently on a smartphone). i have a pretty easy time typing.
-battery is pretty good so far, i even tested an old nokia battery i happened to have that was the same voltage, and it worked fine.

Cons: touchpad is a little smaller than i would like, and it doesn't remember the sensitivity setting after you turn it off, you have to change it each time if you want the lower sensitivity.

the backlight is good, but the color of the Fn symbols (the orange symbols on the buttons in the picture) on the keys is solid and not opaque like the white color of the normal key function symbols, so it doesn't show up with the backlight.

Other Thoughts: very worth the price to me, not sure why the other visiontek remotes are more expensive. i chose this one because i thought it would be the easiest to type on, and the arrow keys are around the "e" button in the center.

4 out of 5 eggsOver all GREAT keyboard!

Pros: Wireless range is good. Able to control music playing in my room from the kitchen. The compact size is awesome as well, takes a little getting used to though. Same size as a Hersheys bar. Nicely placed on/off switch to the side right above usb charginging port. Convenient LED's to indicate keyboard status. Backlit keys make night usage incredibly easy. Unit automatically goes to stanby mode after a period of no usage to conserve battery. Works right out of the box without the need to install drivers. I use Linux, identifies as a standard keyboard.

Newegg is da bomb!

Cons: USB dongle needs to be placed on the front/ top of case to be affective. If your case doesn't have front ports then a USB extension should be used to bring the dongle towards the front (luckily I already had one).

Other Thoughts: This thing is super sweet and for the price not much is competing with this thing. I got it as a temporary solution until I cough up the cash for the MX5500. Then I'll probly use it for my HTPC build. Probly get a few more in the future for gifts and other builds.

4 out of 5 eggsthis thing is sweet! but will not charge

Pros: this thing does everything you could want. quick launch for media player, media controlls, email, web, print, windows key, on and on. mouse ad is really good, dpi settings. backlight is awesome. web scrolling. single key ctrl+alt+del. just plain sweet. bought a gear head wireless unit kinda like this for $5 more sucked so bad i returned it and got this, would be happy if it would take a charge

Cons: will not take a charge. kept plugged into computer for 12hrs/wall for 12 more nothin. in one weeks time i have ordered this, and a set of crucial ballistics 2x4gb 1600 ddr3, this wont charge and the set of ram one was bad so i rma'd the ram (took over a week) only to get 2 bad sticks back in return! ram was for a customers custom computer build so i ended up going and buying a set out of my pocket just to finish his computer in under 2wks! is there no quality controll what so ever at newegg? out of 5 thing 4 were defective, almost afraid to see what they rma me back this time (in a week)

1 out of 5 eggsExtra Info

Pros: Compact, has USB dongle holder, works OK.

Cons: Warning: I purchased the standard battery size from Nokia, since the unit had a dead battery when I bought it. The Nokia battery will not allow the back plate back on, as it is 1mm thicker than the OEM battery, even though the part number is identical. This means that when the battery dies, you might not be able to replace it.

1 out of 5 eggsBattery DOA

Pros: Very small. Think Blackberry. Comes with charging cord, and place to store dongle.

Cons: Since the battery it came with had under 0.2vdc, it won't charge. Box looked REALLY old. Cellophane had discolored.

Other Thoughts: Battery is cheap, it's used for Nokia phones. I ordered a battery so I can test it.

5 out of 5 eggsNice!

Pros: Great solution for HTPC/media center. Small footprint with better than average functionality. Rechargeable battery and long battery life with great range.

Cons: Considering its intended use, none.

Other Thoughts: Purchased this to use with a mITX machine I built for my wife to use in the kitchen. I found none of the functionality issues mentioned by other reviewers; most likely because I read the little manual that came with the device.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great so far

Pros: Works out of the box. Plug the receiver in and turn the remote on. No driver installation or anything. The unit is a prefect size for my hands. Trackpad works pretty well with no lag. I haven't really tested for distance, but from where my couch sits to the htpc, it's only about 12' and I have no problems.

Cons: This thing is small, so if you have big hands it might be troublesome. The track pad is small too, but like I said, I it's a prefect size for me.

Other Thoughts: I used this for my 1st htpc build and didn't want to go all out as far as hardware goes. I went with this vs a harmony remote because I just use my htpc to watch movies, no recordings, so I basically needed an input device that wasn't a keyboard and mouse. This fit the bill.

5 out of 5 eggsreal neat-o

Pros: It's REALLY small, long range. plug and play, responsive, more than I expected. Receiver is small and mounts inside the keyboard for travel. Removable battery. Is not expensive, for what I got I think the price was good.

Cons: the split keys make sense but would take getting used to if you were going to type a lot. Luckily this keyboard isn't for typing a lot.

Other Thoughts: the touch pad is smaller than a typical laptop but works great, the size is not a hindrance in mouse navigation at all.

Works on boot/bios menu as expected

It's so cool I had to come on here and make a review right away.

I didn't get it for a HTPC but will likely use this one or one of them for that purpose some day.

I got this as a replacement for a flexible keyboard that died annoyingly and prematurely. this is so small it is a good replacement for my purposes - and having the touchpad built in is a huge bonus.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: Good design, small size, and most importantly it can do everything I need it to do from the comfort of my couch. The trackpad in the center means that typing feels comfortable and evenly split between your thumbs. Also, the additional ability to rotate the trackpad so that you can use the device like a TV remote is awesome.

Cons: The range is a little limited. My computer is on the other side of a wall from my TV, and the reception is spotty at best when I sit on my couch a ways away. I have a USB extension cable which I wrap around the door though and it works fine.

The only thing that I can say is a problem is that the shift key is only on the left. This means that capitol A (or any key on the left side of the keyboard) requires you to play some hand twister lol.

Other Thoughts: The on/off switch is nice to have to be sure it isn't wasting batteries, and is a nice work around for it's sometimes slow wake up from sleep mode while it's in the on position. I am super happy with the keyboard overall.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good design, good battery life, easy to use with 1 hand, a great option for the complete computer control from the couch.

Cons: Range is a little limited, but I have a USB extension cable so I can mitigate that a little. The only thing that I can say is a problem is that the shift key is only on the left. This means that capitol A (or any key on the left side of the keyboard) requires you to play some hand twister lol.

Other Thoughts: Overall I'm super happy with it. Another user mentioned that there are no arrow keys, but that's because they didn't read the manual (regular acronym not allowed). The silver ring around the E is a set of arrow keys, which is clearly described in the manual. The trackpad rotation is also right handed, not a surprise, but I thought I'd mention it.
