5 out of 5 eggsSamsung 940B & 740B

Pros: Bought 2 Samsung monitors from newegg MNTR SMSNG|LCD 19"8MSDVI 940b-Black - Retail $319.99 Monday, February 20, 2006 and the MNTR SMSNG|LCD 17" 8MSDVI 740b-Black - Retail $229.99 Monday, March 06, 2006.
My girl friend got mad and recked my room and both monitors were in a pile along with my towers and all my other things, I just sat there and looked at the mess knowing they were ruint, After cleaning up the mess and putting my system back togather to my serprise both monitors were still perfect as the day I received them, I was so happy I forgot I was sick to what she had done to my room and equipment.

Cons: They didn't come with a DVI cable!

Other Thoughts: They are super greate monitors with ajustable heigth and angle and automatic setup for what ever your VGA/PCI card or onboard graphics controllers are!
They go off when you shut down like there suppose to and have no long time delay comming on when you turn your PC on! I cant beleave how some people just have no luck with everything they buy from newegg, I have never got 1 single item defected from newegg and have built 5 new computers so far, These monitors are so nice everybody who see's them want to buy them and tell me I can buy another and for what I payed for them in 2005/2006 I could have saved $60.00 bucks!!

4 out of 5 eggsDecent monitor

Pros: It's a decent monitor - great deal for a 19" monitor at the time. It's bright and clear.

Cons: It's definitely lighter on the bottom. For normal usage it probably doesn't matter - I didn't even notice it at first. But I do web design work and after a while I noticed colors towards the bottom were lighter. Put up a solid black wallpaper and you can very clearly see this.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Monitor

Pros: Clear, crisp, bright display. Love the pivot. Comes with VGA and DVI cables and pivot software.

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: Excellent buy for business; those widescreen displays are not especially suitable for business use.

3 out of 5 eggsGood Stand, Still a TN Panel

Pros: Quality stand. It rotates, pivots, swivels, and has height adjustments. Best of all, it seems pretty sturdy.

Great for text and office work.

Cons: It's a TN panel. There is a noticeable "dark on top, lighter on bottom" problem, which is normal with any lower-end panel tech.

This problem, however, is made worse when rotating the monitor 90 degrees. It's not so much "dark on top, lighter on bottom" - now it's "dark on the right, lighter on the left," which is more noticeable. This doesn't affect text as much (it's definitely there, though, and easily seen on a white background).

Other Thoughts: If you can live with the viewing angle problems, go for it. Definitely check it out in a store first, and ask if you can view the panel under low-light conditions (the backlight bleed disappears somewhat when in front of or under a light source) or with a background that uses a single color or very simple pattern.

If you want something to watch movies on, I would go for a P-MVA panel or an S-IPS one. You'll be spending a bit more, but the differences are very apparent.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Great monitor! This monitor's contrast ratio is a dramatic improvement over my old CRT!

Cons: Refresh rate lower than my other monitor, but because this is an LCD, that can't be helped. Max resolution 1280 x 1024.

Other Thoughts: Overall good quality, stable stand, cool 90-degree rotation feature!

5 out of 5 eggsA top performer

Pros: What a great value! The screen image is bright and one of the pre-set color selections looked great to me. Ghosting is not evident in Q3A or D3. Up-down adjustment is a MAJOR plus! Dead pixel free!

Cons: None noted

Other Thoughts: Unlike some other reviewers, my monitor DID COME WITH A DVI CABLE. The monitor gets 5 Eggs. I bought it here, and I must say that this website ain't what it used to be, but I'm sure most of you know that already.

5 out of 5 eggsAWSOME

Pros: This was a great improvement from my 17" samsung lcd.

Cons: i have not found any at all

Other Thoughts: having the digital out cable makes the picture for games and movies very nice...a big plus there was no dead pixels

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice display

Pros: Very nice display. Fast. Multiple modes, such as "Movie", "Sports", and "Text", that adjust contrast, brightness, and other settings. Easy install. No dead pixel. I love the 90 degree rotate. And the screen is larger than either my 19" Iiyama or my 19" Dell -- which makes text easier to read at the standard resolution. It took about 10 minutes of use and I've decided to purchase another one to replace the Iiyama.

Cons: My only slight is that the DVI cable isn't long enough for my configuration. But that just means that I have to move my tower - no biggie.

Other Thoughts: I was going to purchase a Dell 1907FP because I liked the thought of having USB ports. But after reading reviews that indicated that Dell was using multiple sources for their LCD panels, and that the good reviews were the ones that had the Samsung panel, I figured I'd just buy Samsung and not risk the chance of getting a low-grade panel from Dell.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor!

Pros: Great Image, no dead Pixles. Nice and bright, was an upgrade from an old 17" CRT so it was like everything was new again! Running with a 6800 and am able to run everything at 1280x1024 with no ghosting!

Cons: Stand dosn't adjust and no DVI cable.

Other Thoughts: Of course Newegg got it to me fast and worked straight out of the box.
