Plagued with Bad Pixels
- Pros: I think it would be a nice monitor if I could find one without problems.
Newegg rocks and I buy almost all of my computer equipment from them. However, I didn't buy these monitors from them (see "cons" below).
- Cons: I didn't buy this monitor from Newegg because I refuse to support their aweful dead pixel policy. I purchased three of these from a local retailer, and I had to return all three of them. The first one had 5 defective pixels all in the same area it looked horrible. The second one had 21 defective pixels (I counted them three times)! The third one simple refused to work (e.g. it wouldn't power on). I've had a lot of samsung monitors and I've generally been very happy with them, but this monitor is a mess. I recommend staying away from this one.
- Other Thoughts: I tried the three major methods of fixing the defective pixels and none of them helped. In fact it created one dead pixel on the first monitor.
When you return a monitor with defective pixels, I recommend that you simply tell the store that it doesn't work (i.e. do not elaborate). If you say you're returning it because of defective pixels, then you're likely going to make the return process more of a hassle. Just say "it doesn't work." They might think you're some hill-billy idiot, but in most cases they'll just give you a refund and you'll be on your way.
Another suggestion for Newegg: Please adopt a zero defective-pixel policy. You've lost about $3400 of my money over the last 2 years because I won't buy monitors from you.
- Pros: Good color, great stand.
- Cons: Does NOT scale as advertised, not 1:1 mapping, does not scale aspect ratio to input source as advertised. Don't buy if you want to use with a 1080p device.
Also arrived defective, what looks to be a smudge but isn't. Probably a back light defect of some sort. (not dead pixels)
- Other Thoughts: New egg did not provide good support on trying to exchange this monitor for the above reasons, do NOT buy a monitor from newegg under the LCD return policy.

- Pros: Gorgeous screen, great price.
- Cons: 1 dead pixel, but it's not noticeable on all background colors.
Dust-magnet!
- Other Thoughts: Others have commented on the difficulty of finding the power button. I've found myself to be pretty proficient at starting a finger on the far right edge, and sliding left until the light comes on. Once it's on, it's easy enough to see the rest of the buttons for other purposes.

- Other Thoughts: My shipment was a little beat-up. This is UPS fault and I'm sure Fed-ex isn't much better. Fortunately the item was packed well and didn't suffer any damage.
As advertised
- Pros: This monitor is everything they said it would be. I changed monitors because I needed one that was HDCP compatible for Blueray movies. No dead pixels. The hidden buttons don't bother me in the least, as I don't change setting very often, and when I do, I can see them OK. The picture quality with a Blueray movie is impressive.
- Cons: Really don't have any.
- Other Thoughts: I think for the price, this is an excellent buy. It does all I need a monitor to do for a decent price.
