1 out of 5 eggsWorse Service I Have Ever Received

Pros: Decent Monitor.

Cons: Literally the worst service I have ever received.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this monitor from Best Buy about 18 months ago. It worked great for about 12 months and then started to experience flickering on startup.

The problem started to get worse so I called tech support. The tech support guy said that it was a faulty capacitor, and that the monitor would die in the not too near future.

He said that they could send a replacement to a nearby UPS store and I could bring mine in, swap it out and be on my way. I was extremely impressed with this service as I got the monitor 5 days later...

But the DVI port on this one was broken. Yes the replacement they sent me was also broken. So I called in to ask for another exchange. That was 2 months ago.

I have called them 4 times since then, and talked to over 10 service people. Each time they have identified a problem with their system/process/shipping and have assured me the problem is fixed and I'll be receiving my monitor shortly.

Never buying from Samsung again.

3 out of 5 eggsAverage monitor

Pros: Bought this a year ago to replace my 21 in. Dell CRT behemoth (60 pounds). All of the sudden, I have a lot of space on my desk and I dont know what to do with it. The monitor is stylish, looks good and works ok, but for the price 279.00 I expected a bit more. Good resolution at 1680x1050, driver seems ok, but see below.

Cons: After about three months of usage the monitor developed about 10 dead pixels that are scattered all over the screen. Two are quiet large, but the remaining are small, almost like little dust bites. The stand is wobbly....but it tilts, so that's a plus. If you have a light source behind this monitor (window) you will see reflection on both sides of the screen as the light seem to penetrate through the bezel...weird. A bit of a lag where the top part of the screen lags behind the bottom part...this happens for a split second, but it is annoying. Not a big fan of black glossy finishes, but it seems like everyone adopted this unbelievably disgusting finish. Also, the viewing angle affects the overall colors as they change to pink, but then again how often do you work or play games while sitting 4 ft to the left of your monitor...:-)

Other Thoughts: Please make sure you adjust the monitor to fit your surroundings as out of the box colors are washed out. Please play with the settings before start posting negative reviews where the colors appear to be washed out, while claiming high technical knowledge (don't be radiculous). Of course they are as they need to be adjusted as the lighting, monitors position, etc, will vary from case to case. So spend an hour tweaking your settings, chances are you will be happy. As far as the dead pixels go...they are annoying and will not go with Samsung on my next purchase. This is my first and last Samsung....period.

4 out of 5 eggsNice monitor but....

Pros: Nice picture...Bright enough for anyone's needs. Overall a great 22" monitor. I didn't buy this monitor even though I do favor Samsung products in general; my experience with my older Samsung Synchmaster is a totally positive one. I must admit I went into the store with a bit of a predudice...for the last two years I have been using a Haans-G 22" monitor and the differences between a $150.00+/- G" and a $500.00 19" are debatable and are strongly depending on your needs. For regular people playing games and surfing, it cannot be beat. Now, what I saw in side by side comparisons only confirmed my initial opinion. The Haans-G HG 281, 28" blows the socks off of anything next to it. For about the same price of a 22",you can have a 28"(27.5) why settle for 21.5?

Cons: 22" (21.5) inches, Last years tech. Price per inch.

Other Thoughts: At this price range you will not be getting a "super" monitor anyway so why not get more monitor? Once you sit in front of a 28 inch screen and watch a DVD you will wish you had a remote, and you can never go back to a smaller screen; even your laptop will make you squint. Just trying to help. I have no connection in any way to the products I mentioned. Bill

1 out of 5 eggsStarted out Nice

Pros: Nice image at first. Looks cool.

Cons: I received this monitor in February and was excited because SAMSUNG normally has a good reputation. Today I returned from a six week school to find my monitor no longer work. It worked great before I left and no power was to it while I was away. It displays an image for less than two seconds then goes black. I troubleshot it and it was definitely the monitor so I called SAMSUNG only to find out they only have two service centers so I have to mail the monitor off at my expense, wait 7 - 10 days for them to determine if it can be repaired and then 10 to 14 days to procure a replacement or make the repairs, then transit time to ship it back to me. I'm deploying in 2 weeks so that's not really an option for me.

Other Thoughts: The SAMSUNG customer service was a real downer. I would have been willing to accept that every company produces a bad product from time to time, but the fact that they offer such little support, and rude customer service, is a let down and now I'm most certainly not going to purchase another SAMSUNG produce. I used to have a SONY monitor and was able to take it to a local certified repair shop and get it back in a week, not wait a month.

5 out of 5 eggsNO WOOBLES HERE

Pros: Buy it!! Fantastic monitor, no regrets at all....I almost passed on this unit after all the comments about the "wobbly base". Glad I didn't listen, base is steady as a rock. I type, play games, including racing sims with the wheel attached to my desk top (glass with metal legs)...No Problems!! Hmmm, could people have desks that wobble??

Cons: Bezel is real nice looking but attracts dust.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great resolution
Great Color (with some tweakig)
Looks pretty dang sexy with the red touch of color

Cons: *Flashlighting isnt horrible but its still definitely an eyesore
*Pre-sets for colors are a little bit off and it takes some tweaking to get an accurate color scheme

Other Thoughts: I originally bought this monitor a few weeks ago but returned it because of horrible flashlighting problems on the top and bottom of the screen and exchanged it to hopefully get a better one. I got most of my wish with the replacement being better than the previous but flashlighting is still very apparent but I will learn to live with it.

5 out of 5 eggsSamsung T220 ToC

Pros: Samsung is a very known, reputable brand in the digital display industry. I have yet to be disappointed by a Samsung monitor or television. The colors on this particular display are very vibrant, and the game mode makes everything amazingly bright. Even in a bright, sunshine filled room, I can see everything clearly.

The 2ms response time is amazing for gameplay and movies, and the contrast ratio is amazing. Go read some detailed reviews on this specific monitor from some techy sites if you need help deciding on a monitor.

If you want anything better than this monitor, prepare to shell out some $$

Cons: The only feature I miss from my old Samsung monitor is the ability to swivel it left and right but it's no big deal as I can just lift and turn it. It's a sacrifice I'm willing to take for the sleek modern look and performance.

One more gripe that I have is that, if you place this monitor on a cheap, wobbly desk (like my Ikea desk), it'll wobble left and right ever so slightly when you move your desk. I shake my legs out of habit and it causes my monitor to act like a bobble head. On the bright side, it notifies me when I'm doing it so I can stop shaking my leg. This is what you get for placing a heavy, 22" screen on a small plastic base. The base is however very durable and is definitely not cheap as others suggest. You will have a hard time breaking this monitor.

Other Thoughts: Overall, this is a very high quality monitor for a very affordable price.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent monitor for the price

Pros: Had this monitor for over six months now. Beautiful colors, no dead pixels. The games I've played on it look great, no ghosting or other problems. Movies look good too. A great basic monitor. I upgraded from an old Viewsonic 19" CRT, and the difference is spectacular.

Cons: The stand is a little flimsy, but shouldn't be a problem on a solid desk or table. Not enough for me to drop the rating, especially since I am very happy with everything else.

Other Thoughts: Note that there are no speakers, USB ports, or screen rotate capabilities. This is a very basic LCD, but IMHO well worth the price. I had a Samsung CRT years ago that I was very disappointed in, so I was a little leery about buying another Samsung monitor. This LCD has completely changed my mind. I would not hesitate to buy another Samsung monitor (after studying the reviews on Newegg, of course).

Also, another 5-egg review for Newegg's service. If you're reading reviews on this site and wonder if they are as good as the reviews say they are, well - they are, and more! I've been buying from them for close to ten years and have never had a problem. I don't even shop around anymore, I just head right here.
