With the Samsung T220 monitor on your desk you may never get up again. Samsung has combined the best of their TV and monitor building skills and combined them into this one unit. The 22" screen has a 1680x1050 native resolution for incredibly detailed pictures. The panel has a 300cd/m2 brightness rating and an impressive 20000:1 dynamic contrast ratio.
The DVI connector even supports HDCP for exceptional HD performance. There is also a D-Sub connector for analog connections. The stand has tilt adjustments to maximize viewing comfort.
The T220 uses Samsung’s new Touch of Color design that features a hint of color naturally blended into the traditional piano black frame, and features transparent rim just like Windows Vista/7. Make your desktop as art with Samsung T220 monitor!
Pros: I would like to add as well that the stand is -not- cheap plastic. It's plastic plastic. What do you want titanium? It is finished wonderfully, glossy piano. Whoever said they think it will break should pick their monitor off the bedroom floor and put it on their desk where it belongs can't get stepped on.
Cons: Don't review something if all you have to say is "it looks pretty," and can't even use common cents to evaluate anything.
Other Thoughts: I have already reviewed this monitor, but am blown away by the ignorance of the reviews here. No tilt? Come on man did you even try!? Of course it tilts, I am tilting it right now! It even says it does in the specs!
For those of you saying the buttons are a con, they are placed perfectly for the people who want the sleek finish. It was intended, if you can't remember the label of only four buttons you have serious problems and shouldn't be on a computer, after all there are a whole lot more than four buttons on your keyboards.
"I really like the red streak along the bottom" - how misleading, it's not just the bottom, it's the entire face, and it's not a streak.
"Small things - while the touch-sensitive power button is an interesting idea, if it's dark in my room, I have to fumble around in order to guess where it is" - it doesn't move when the lights go out. Bottom right hand corner, and the power on is very sleek.
Obviously a few people here have no idea how to review a p

Fantastic gaming LCD
Reviewed By: CROM on 5/2/2008
Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 day to 1 week
Pros: This is the best gaming LCD I've seen to date for its size. The 20k contrast ratio really makes the colors pop, and the refresh rate is second to none. The monitor is also very light, in terms of weight. It's got a matte finish on the screen, no glossy. My setup: Intel Core2Quad Q6600 Nvidia 8800GTX video card 4 gigs DDR2-800 RAM Windows XP Pro
Games tested on it: UT3 Diablo II COD4 Crysis Half Life 2 Ep 2 Bioshock
Cons: The base is pretty cheap plastic. It's fine in most instances, but I could see the thing breaking. It's also a bit wobbly. The display won't scale screen proportions. If you're trying to launch an older game like Diablo II it will stretch the image, it won't fit to max height and put black bars on either side. It won't switch to the nvidia driver to enable this either.
Other Thoughts: Those are minor annoyances however. This is the best 22" display I've seen to date. It's better than Apple's studio display and any Dell monitor I've used.

Pros: Nice picture...Bright enough for anyone's needs. Overall a great 22" monitor. I didn't buy this monitor even though I do favor Samsung products in general; my experience with my older Samsung Synchmaster is a totally positive one. I must admit I went into the store with a bit of a predudice...for the last two years I have been using a Haans-G 22" monitor and the differences between a $150.00+/- G" and a $500.00 19" are debatable and are strongly depending on your needs. For regular people playing games and surfing, it cannot be beat. Now, what I saw in side by side comparisons only confirmed my initial opinion. The Haans-G HG 281, 28" blows the socks off of anything next to it. For about the same price of a 22",you can have a 28"(27.5) why settle for 21.5?
Cons: 22" (21.5) inches, Last years tech. Price per inch.
Other Thoughts: At this price range you will not be getting a "super" monitor anyway so why not get more monitor? Once you sit in front of a 28 inch screen and watch a DVD you will wish you had a remote, and you can never go back to a smaller screen; even your laptop will make you squint. Just trying to help. I have no connection in any way to the products I mentioned. Bill

Started out Nice

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Nice image at first. Looks cool.
Cons: I received this monitor in February and was excited because SAMSUNG normally has a good reputation. Today I returned from a six week school to find my monitor no longer work. It worked great before I left and no power was to it while I was away. It displays an image for less than two seconds then goes black. I troubleshot it and it was definitely the monitor so I called SAMSUNG only to find out they only have two service centers so I have to mail the monitor off at my expense, wait 7 - 10 days for them to determine if it can be repaired and then 10 to 14 days to procure a replacement or make the repairs, then transit time to ship it back to me. I'm deploying in 2 weeks so that's not really an option for me.
Other Thoughts: The SAMSUNG customer service was a real downer. I would have been willing to accept that every company produces a bad product from time to time, but the fact that they offer such little support, and rude customer service, is a let down and now I'm most certainly not going to purchase another SAMSUNG produce. I used to have a SONY monitor and was able to take it to a local certified repair shop and get it back in a week, not wait a month.

NO WOOBLES HERE

Pros: Buy it!! Fantastic monitor, no regrets at all....I almost passed on this unit after all the comments about the "wobbly base". Glad I didn't listen, base is steady as a rock. I type, play games, including racing sims with the wheel attached to my desk top (glass with metal legs)...No Problems!! Hmmm, could people have desks that wobble??
Cons: Bezel is real nice looking but attracts dust.
