5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Monitor/TV

Pros: This Monitor/TV works great as a monitor and tv. I actually have 3 computers and my cable box connected to the various ports. I was also able to connect it to the cable directly, but I needed the cable box for HD because of my cable company. I like to play games with good graphics and this Monitor works very well. The unit was easy to setup and get started

Cons: I used to use 2 monitors for my 3 computers, because this is so much bigger, I only have room for one. Switching input feeds is easy but a pain. Probably not the best gaming monitor, but it works for me.

Other Thoughts: Buying from Newegg is easy and my first place to go when shopping. I have never had any issues and they are quick with delivery.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor

Pros: Color reproduction, size, color mode settings, refresh rate

Cons: Viewing angle, adjustability of stand

Other Thoughts: Love this monitor! I have had it for just over a year and it is as good as new! The on/off button is a touch sensitive. The vertical viewing angle is not that great. If eye level is below half way down the monitor, screen tends to get dark very quickly. That can easily be compensated for by tilting the stand however. Very good monitor, will buy from Samsung again.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Big and beautiful, there are no dead pixels, and no ghosting during gaming. There really is nothing not good about it except...

Cons: ...when it attempts to auto-detect a source, it seems to check HDMI twice as long as Analog and Digital. It is rather annoying because I am using a KVM on it with both Analog and Digital connected. HDMI inherently supports auto detection when there is a signal so this is a rather odd behavior. It is a minor inconvenience that won't affect most people though.

Other Thoughts: UPS mutilated the box (tore the top panel about 8 inches) but the internal styrofoam packing around the monitor spared it of damage.

3 out of 5 eggsIt's nice, but wouldn't be my first choice

Pros: This display is huge! It's difficult to really understand how big it is until it's sitting on your desk staring you in the face...and that's even when coming from a 22" display!

The color is outstanding...very bright and vivid. Very little light leakage. 1920x1200 resolution is amazing.

Cons: Not a huge fan of the aesthetics...it looks more like a small TV rather than a computer monitor.

The stand doesn't let the monitor tilt forward enough for my sitting position, meaning I have to sit even closer to the monitor for the optimum viewing angle. There's also no VESA mounting options on this monitor so you're stuck with the stand it comes with.

The biggest issue I've struggled with is getting text to look good. I've never had to tweak the settings more than I have with this monitor. It's been a struggle to minimize text ghosting.

Other Thoughts: I got a refurbished T240 from Samsung as a replacement to a 2.5-year-old 225BW that was humming and couldn't be repaired. If I was shopping for a monitor this is not the one I would buy.

Another reviewer had posted some initial brightness/contrast settings and I found them to be a much better starting point than it comes with out of the box. Be sure to use the ClearType tuner in windows. For Windows 7 users, use the calibration utility under display settings and tweak the gamma to help get rid of text ghosting.

1 out of 5 eggsBusted

Pros: Bright and beautiful for all but one column of yellow pixels.

Cons: Defective 30 days in! I have a solid yellow pixel line down the right side of the screen for an entire column.

Other Thoughts: Samsung has the WORST possible customer support ever. Don't expect them to do anything helpful. Samsung says I am eligible for a new replacement, what they call A-stock. However they do not ever have any in their inventory. They even cancelled my request for a replacement because they didn't have any in stock without telling me. They do have plenty of refurbs. Google the Better Business Bureau and the Consumerist about Samsung's shady customer support tactics.

This is my third Samsung screen that I have owned. I trusted their brand for many years. Shame on them for losing a loyal fan.

4 out of 5 eggsQuality TN Panel

Pros: As far as TN panels go, this is a fine product. I retired my older Acer 22" LCD (P221W) for this one and the differences in picture quality and color vibrance is noticible. The rear removable panel that covers up the cords is a very nice bonus as well, especially if you're a cord management freak like I am.

Cons: The frame surounding the actual screen could have been slimmer. This LCD takes up more space than it needs to I think.

Other Thoughts: Seems to be the perfect size. 27" was far too large for my tastes and the 22" just wasn't big enough for my multitasking. Native 1920x1200 is a winner.
