With the Samsung T240HD monitor on your desk you may never get up again. Samsung has combined the best of their TV and monitor building skills and combined them into this one unit. The 24" screen has a 1920x1080 native resolution for incredibly detailed pictures. The panel has a 300cd/m2 brightness rating and an impressive 10000:1 dynamic contrast ratio.
The T240HD with built-in DTV tuner delivers TV programs without an additional TV tuner. It handles a standard D-Sub 15-pin, a fast DVI, Component, Optical and dual HDMI connection. A pair of integrated 3-Watt speakers provides clear, bright sound without taking up precious desk space. 1080p input makes watching hi-def movies a cinch.
The T240HD uses Samsung’s new Touch of Color design that features a hint of color naturally blended into the traditional piano black frame, and features transparent rim just like Windows Vista/7. Make your desktop as pretty as the pictures on the screen with Samsung's T240HD monitor!

Pros: For the questioner below, the monitor is capable of displaying any resolution over DVI or D-Sub. It will even display 16:9 resolutions, but will stretch to 16:10, which looks atrocious. Keep all resolutions at either 4:3 or 16:10 and you're golden.
First, the main reason you're buying this monitor - the multiple input options. I have not tested the component input, but all the other inputs, including Digital HDTV tuner, works very well. TF2 looks good, even with a 1280x800 resolution. The PS3 looks gorgeous on 1080P. Digital channels in 1080i and 720p looks very good.
The scaler on this monitor gives you a lot of options (16:9, 16:10, 4:3) for all inputs. (DVI only has 16:10 or 4:3, but why would you need anything else?) This was a major concern for me before purchasing, but I'm glad it can display most resolutions.
Off-axis viewing is better than expected, but I wasn't expecting much. There wasn't much color tuning to do out of the box.
Cons: Off-resolution scaling is just okay. There's a good amount of backlight bleed at the top and bottom of the display. This monitor definitely isn't for serious users or experts, but the colors will look great for anyone else. No height adjustment, only backwards tilt, which is almost useless with a monitor this size.
Off-axis viewing is okay. The horizontal viewing is actually pretty good, but the vertical off-axis is bad- it's definitely a TN panel. It's not terrible, though. There's noticeable dimming at the top and lower right corners of the display - mine might be defective in this way. I can live with it, though.
Touch-sensitive power button is an annoyance. You'll have to get used to the way it detects your input. The side-mounted panel buttons makes the remote absolutely necessary for any respectable tuning.
The display is prone to wobbling - the pivot on the monitor should have been better designed for stability. No VESA mounting
Other Thoughts: This monitor can pass DDL through the optical port in the back. The monitor's speakers are okay, for TV speakers. You can't really notice the "touch of color". The piano black finish still looks nice. The screen is anti-glare, not glossy, for those who are wondering.
I'd buy this again - it's more than enough for me, let alone your average user.

Excellent Display

Pros: Excellent color reproduction, 1080p24 works like a charm.
Cons: Cheap sounding speakers, no wall mount, GOOD not great viewing angles.
Other Thoughts: I have already wrote one review for this display and I have noticed some of the newer reviews of this product. I think that the last reviewer was mistaken about which display this is. This is the T240HD NOT the T240. The T240 does NOT correct the aspect ratio. The T240HD DOES. The remote shown in the owners manual that I downloaded from Samsung.com is the IDENTICAL one that came with the display.
This monitor does NOT support SRS (anyone THAT concerned about sound quality should know that NO display has quality bulit in speakers). It will however pass thru Dolby Digital via optical.
As for coloring issues, I noticed SOME coloring problems when I first hooked the monitor to my Mac. This was VERY EASILY corrected by calbrating the montior. Both Windows and OSX have monitor calibration utilites and sites like drycreekphoto.com can provide help.
I also wanted to add that anyone looking to hookup a Blu-Ray player, this display will handle and properly display 1080p24 via HDMI.

Pros: Wow, huge compared to my 17"! Picture looks great. The built in HD TV tuner is a plus, even though I will be using the monitor specifically for my computer. Tested the monitor with L4D2 and it ran great. Watching standard DVDs look great too. I strongly recommend this monitor.
Cons: I believe this is standard on a monitor this size, but it makes a little buzzing noise depending on what is displaying on the screen. Not a big deal, but just to point it out.
I tested the speakers and they seemed good for what they are. However, I will be using my 2.1 Logitech system instead XD.
Also, (don't base your choice on the following statement) something inside, like a small screw or piece of plastic, was rattling. Fortunately, the monitor still works.
Other Thoughts: Running Gv2 (Short for Grill Version 2) AMD Phenom II x4 940 Black Edition 3.0GHz 4GB of DDR2 800MHz 9800GTX+ w/ 1GB DDR3

Clearing up aspect ratio
Reviewed By: TheJakeyl88 on 12/22/2009

Pros: Built in HDTV tuner, does both TV and PC superbly, usually you get one or the other. Now for PC, you will want to use the entire 16:10 aspect ratio at a resolution of 1920x1200. This is a little higher than 1080p. Windows supports this resolution and it looks fantastic. I personally prefer 16:10, as it gives you more view vertically. All games support 16:10 aspect ratio. This monitor also looks very nice, no complaints there. I also have the T260HD version and this one has a better pixel pitch, .27x where the 26in. has .28x, so this one looks a tad sharper if you are sitting close to it. From a distance that small difference in pixel pitch is not so noticeable. Comes with a remote! Price is fantastic for what you get. OSD is decent and you can play with the settings for a while to fully customize and/or calibrate the monitor to your personal preference and needs.
Cons: Viewing angles are slightly worse than most monitors. I personally use an S-PVA panel with 178/178, this one has 160/150. The 150 vertical seems like it would be a problem, but if you keep yourself level with the screen its not a deal breaker, just don't have this panel set up high or low, keep it eye level. TN panels are cheap, but they are fast. 5ms is fast enough for most people. My S-PVA is 6 ms GTG but I have it tweaked along with my ATI cards color properties and image sharpening which take care of any ghosting there may have been, and I have yet to notice any ghosting, without the tweaking on this Samsung. I wish it had more HDMI inputs, but two was the norm at the time of this release.
Other Thoughts: Aspect ratio. Now the Xbox 360 cannot do a 16:10 aspect ratio. The monitor has two settings 4:3 or 16:10. Now 1920x1080 is the highest the Xbox 360 displays, which is 16:9 AR. But, the trick is, to set the monitor to 4:3 AR with the OSD and set the Xbox to 16:9, 1920x1080 and it will keep the image at 16:9, and not stretch it! I know its weird and many people do not think to switch it to 4:3, but it works and you are able to run 16:9 AR with the Xbox 360, and most likely the PS3. This will also work for HDTV stations that are 16:9 AR with a resolution of 1920x1080. So with this monitor/TV you get the best of everything! You can display 4:3, 16:9 AND 16:10 for that extra 180 lines of pixels. Try running your game at 1920x1080, then 1920x1200. May only be 180 extra lines but you will DEFINITELY notice the difference. 16:9 monitors cannot run all three resolutions, so don't listen to people who are constantly saying 16:10 monitors suck, because they don't understand the tech.

Very good picture and no ghosting

Pros: No dead pixels, quick shipping as always, best monitor I have owned so far. The remote is a nice feature instead of having to fiddle with buttons on the screen. I haven't tried hooking my cable up to it yet, but I assume it should be fine.
Cons: Sound from the monitor feels like it's coming from a tin can, but if you own this you probably have your own set of speakers. The custom labels for each input is nice, but they're too generic. I use a DVI connection for my PC and the default label for the VGA port is PC, so the list of inputs is confusing when cycling through. Wish you could ACTUALLY re-label them with a keyboard, but not enough of an issue to remove an egg.
Other Thoughts: The touch panel power button is nice, but sometimes when it's dark and you want to turn it on, it takes a few seconds to find. Just swipe your finger across the bottom corner and it will find it.
