The Samsung 2443BW 24" Digital/Analog Widescreen LCD Monitor offers razor-sharp, widescreen image clarity and a host of innovative features, like Samsung's MagicBright3, which optimizes its output based on content. With 1920 x 1200 resolution and a dynamic contrast ratio of 20,000:1 you'll be amazed by the clear, life-like images this wide-spectrum monitor produces.

Thanks to the 170º/160º viewing angle and 4-way adjustable stand, you can place the monitor anywhere you like and know you'll have a perfect, comfortable view. There's a convenient USB port in the stand, as well, for quick connections to transient peripherals like your camera, smart phone, or video camera. The monitor automatically re-orients itself when pivoted, so you can see both portrait and landscape-oriented documents full-screen, without scrolling.

The 2443BW's impressive 5ms response time virtually eliminates the "blur" found in slower monitors. Whether you're rendering video or graphics, enjoying your photos and movies, or gaming, you won't believe your eyes when you see the stunning color and clarity of the 2443BW.

  • newegg Fast Response Time The Samsung 2443BW features a world-class 5ms response time to greatly reduce image blurring and provide silky-smooth motion video and gaming experiences.
  • newegg 4-way Adjustable Stand The Samsung 2443BW provides height, pivot, tilt and swivel adjustments for extreme viewing comfort and flexibility.
  • newegg Ultra-thin Bezel The Samsung 2443BW 's 24" screen is wrapped in an ultra-thin, 15mm bezel that lets you see more without taking up valuable desktop real estate and is ideal for side-by-side multi-monitor configurations.
  • newegg DVI with HDCP Support The Samsung 2443BW features a DVI interface with HDCP support to unlock ultra-high resolution and superb-quality protected content.
  • newegg Ultra-High Dynamic Contrast Ratio The Samsung 2443BW's impressive 20000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and 300cd/m2 brightness ensure accurate color reproduction and sharp images even when displaying darker scenes and images for even more breathtaking games and full-motion video!
  • newegg Samsung MagicBright 3 The powerful MagicBright 3 provides an optimized viewing environment based on the images being displayed with 7 viewing modes: Text, Internet, Game, Sport, Movie, Dynamic Contrast and Customized. With the pre-configured Brightness, Gamma and Contrast in each mode, viewing modes can be selected simply for the best experience.

2 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: Good stand.

Cons: Poor color consistency, narrow viewing angle, difficult buttons.
With such a large monitor, the same color looks dark blue
at the top of the screen and light blue at the bottom.
There's always some part of the screen that doesn't look right.

Other Thoughts: Am very disappointed, would prefer to return this monitor.
With NewEgg's policy, it's just too much of a risk to buy
an LCD monitor from them.

2 out of 5 eggsNo dead pixels, but poor image

Pros: Tilting screen is a huge bonus. Portrait mode makes viewing web pages much easier and more enjoyable.

Cons: The color temperature seems way off on this monitor, and the on board settings don't seem to help. I have this sitting next to a 24" Westinghouse L2410NM that I have owned for about a year, and the Samsung pales in comparison. When I move a web page with a white background from the Westinghouse to the Samsung, the clear white background turns to light blue. Also, text is not as legible - apparently also due to the colors being 'soft'. I have tried swapping cables and video card ports between these monitors to no avail.

Other Thoughts: I have bought many Samsung monitors for home and business and have always been a fan, but I am severly disappointed in this monitor. I will probably not be willing to invest in another Samsung without being able to return it for quality issues besides dead pixels.

4 out of 5 eggsHits and a Big Miss

Pros: It looks great (matte finish), and the image display looks very good as well. I have this paired with a Samsung 244T, and the 2443BW looks better. What you're paying for here is the quality of the display images.

Cons: The lack of a tactile feel for the control buttons is a big minus. I use this monitor often for gaming, and switching the Magic Bright to "gaming" mode is huge pain. Changing the mode is an excercise in hunt and peck, and accidently changing settings you don't mean to. The monitor has a USB connection and this should allow the control of the monitor settings via the computer, but it does not.

I may switch my 244T to the main monitor because of this. It has raised buttons for the controls that you can feel in any lighting condition.

This monitor also lacks any cable control. It's not a big deal, but it does detract from the appearance.

Other Thoughts: The display time defaults to 20ms. You'll probably want to switch it to 5.

I don't understand the complaints about the 1920x1200 resolution for gaming. All LCD's have a native resolution, and running any other resolution forces the monitor to scale the image, thus degrading it. There is no other way around it. If your computer cannot game at that resolution, don't buy an LCD with a native 1920x1200 resolution.

Do not call Samsung to complain about the non-native resolution quality. Get a faster computer.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy

Pros: Great price, brilliantly bright screen, no dead pixels (yay). I got this for gaming, but certainly appreciate the extra space I now have on my desktop as well. I don't think I can ever see myself working on a smaller display as a main monitor again!

Cons: Barely fits on my desk!? (Can that even be a con though =P ).

Other Thoughts: I think at this price point (and probably beyond) you would be hard pressed to find a better quality display. After using NEC's for the past 6 years I didn't really think that this could "WOW" me as much as it has.

To the guy complaining about resolutions, I have had no issues running this lower than native. However, you should realize BEFORE buying an LCD that they are ALL best viewed in their native resolutions and you should buy one that will meet your needs within that resolution. If you are a "Gamer" then you should already own a graphics card that can play most (if not all) of today's games @ 1920x1200 anyway.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor for the price

Pros: * Vivid colors -- really looks fantastic
* Sharp picture
* Games look great, lots of screen real estate

Cons: * The stand install as others mentioned. I was prepared for a struggle but it really wasn't bad. Flipped the monitor upside down, pressed down on the stand and wiggled it back and forth until it popped in.
* The stand connection is flimy, with very little downward adjustment and no horizontal. When my desk wobbles, the wobble is magnified through the stand and the whole monitor wobbles.
* The buttons on the side are a bit difficult to work with but that's really a minor issue
* On a black screen/desktop, visible brighter bands around the top and edges

Other Thoughts: Overall I am very happy with it. The picture makes up for the more superficial external elements. I bought this because I wanted the most LCD for my buck and I feel that's what I got. Gaming on this thing is incredible. I started with standard D-sub VGA at 1900x1200 and it looked great. I upgraded to an $8 HDMI-DVI adapter cable (This only has DVI in but my laptop outputs HDMI), thinking that'd make it even better, but the picture only looks ever so slightly sharper and the difference is marginal at best.
To the person who said you need to run it at 1900x1200; not sure what you're talking about, I game in 1440x900 all the time on this. It looks great, and gets me better performance from my 8800M GTS.

1 out of 5 eggsNo 16:10 below 1920x1200

Pros: Good Color
Great stand

Cons: This monitor does NOT support 16:10 wxgaresolutions 1280x800 or 1440x900. It only allows me to use 1920x1200 which is too high for gaming with anything less than a cutting edge computer.

Tech support was clueless and kept telling me that it was my video card. It is NOT my video card (Nvidia 9800 GTX+).

Finally a guy in level 2 tech support told me that the monitor does not support those lower resolutions and that it should only be viewed in the optimal 1920x1200.

I spoke to 4 people in tech support and not only did they have very little information on the monitors supported resolutions but they all had attitudes (I was very polite) when they did not have the information I needed.

5 out of 5 eggsI Love Samsung

Pros: Great monitor, great color. I use samsung monitors on all my computers, even the older models are great. The new features are really nice.

Cons: Don't really like the new control buttons. They are flush and you can not feel them. Sometimes miss intended controls.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Choice

Pros: Very clear with excellent brightness. The buttons aren't actually buttons but little sensors which is a very cool feature. I purchased this because it had a fully adjustable stand which is very nice.

Cons: Previously I owned Dell monitors which cannot hold a candle to this monitor except for the location of the USB ports. On Dell's USBs are located on the side of the monitor itself, on the Samsung USBs are located in the base which are very easily located. But if you are using infrequently or with something that gets plugged in and forgotten about then it is good.

Other Thoughts: It has been enjoyable to watch HD movies with my Blu-Ray player as well as play games.

4 out of 5 eggsgood

Pros: Nice display, great for portrait view.great price, thinner and more vibrant than the dell 24 inch monitors.

Cons: cant set to portrait mode using the menu buttons, have to go through the software provided for xp/vista and in linux you have to configure the xorg.conf file.

Feather touch buttons a pain in the neck in the dark or wherever there is less light.

Other Thoughts: go for it! its worth the money, MUXH BETTER THAN DELL

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very good viewing angles and response time. Magnificent colours and a matte screen. Small, blue (not blinding) power LED. Feather-touch buttons.

Cons: Nothing.

Other Thoughts: It's massive! I've been used to a 15" for a little over a year and this is a huge upgrade. No stuck or dead pixels.

Feather-touch buttons take a little getting used to. The layout and menu functionality will take a bit to get used to as well. You'll need to see the button pictures to see what you're pressing for a bit.

This is a matte screen, so it won't be as vibrant as glossy screens, but there's no worry with lights. It is very good for a matte screen anyway.
