Beautiful monitor
- Pros: 120hz!!! Smoothest monitor available (at time of purchase)! 5ms is NOT slow on this baby... as of yet, not a single ghosting OR artifact seen!
- Cons: Price... but it is coming down.
- Other Thoughts: Worth it.
Games played so far: HAWX, EVE Online, HL2, GRID, SoaSE, etc! Played with a 4890...
Good while it lasts
- Pros: BEAUTIFUL screen. 120hz rocks new 3D games. Stereoscopic vision also fun to play with, though dizzying after even a short use.
- Cons: Pricey. Lasted less than 6 months. After 5 months the monitor was unable to remain on for longer than an hour. After that it would black out.
Called Samsung support, had to pay $90 to get it shipped to California for repair. 3 weeks later I get it back. No change. STILL had the same problem the same day I got it back. I even included a detailed description for the repair techs. What a joke for an already pricey monitor. I'll be asking for my money back this time around.
- Other Thoughts: This is likely incompetence on the side of the repair center they use. Regardless, it was extremely poor. I'm out 3 weeks and $90. Never had this problem from any other manufacturer.
1680x1050@120hz ROCKS
- Pros: Crystal clear 1680x1050@120hz is SOOOOOOOOO much better than the 1024x768@100 or 1280x960@85 I was playing before on a CRT. Playing at the same resolution as you're gaming makes alt-tabs less awkward too.
- Cons: The complaints about the monitor stand are for real. It wobbles as I type!! Typing in another monitor I see this one wobbling off to the side. Typing on the monitor itself I see it wobbling. What the hell???
- Other Thoughts: Brightness controls work at 120hz. Also seems like other resolutions are supported at 120hz like 1280x960.
