1 out of 5 eggs0for2 w/ Samsung Monitors

Pros: Looked good, while it lasted. Got new mobo, vid card and cpu out of the deal.

Cons: Died at 23 months. *el* would not warranty, Samsung says "Whart-sosolly".

Other Thoughts: I bought 2 Samsung monitors within 1 month of each other, based on glowing reviews. This one came with a D**l high-end XPS9000 desktop. Failure mode was such that De** replaced graphis card, cpu (965 xtreme), and mobo (twice!). Monitor would turn on, then go to black at exactly the same point in boot-up sequence every time. 2nd Samsung monitor died 1 month out of warranty. Pure c**p. Never again.

1 out of 5 eggsMontior No Longer Works

Pros: I thought the monitor was pretty dang good while it worked. The picture quality wasn't really that much better than a lot of lower priced monitors I've seen. But, I never used the 3D glasses on this monitor. It's not worth the $400 for sure.

Cons: The monitor lasted until the service warranty ended and then one day I turned it on and it wouldn't stay on for more than a few seconds. I took it into a local repair shop. It's been two weeks and they are still looking for a replacement for the broken parts so they can give me an estimate.

Other Thoughts: While this monitor lasted it was really great. I have a huge boxy monitor which has lasted 10 years now. It's only like 18 inches but it lasted 5 times longer than this piece of junk.

If there was a 0/5 I would give that rating because I value reliability over any other feature. If a monitor breaks for

3 out of 5 eggsGreat picture, poor quality.

Pros: Monitor works great for 3D and 2D viewing. There is a small amount of interlacing or something when using the 3D mode of Nvidia 3D vision but otherwise the picture is always perfect.

Cons: Worked great for a year then the backlight would shut off after a few minutes of use. Finally got to the point where a few seconds of use would cause it to shut off. Returned to Samsung for a repair under warranty, they paid shipping and fixed it in a reasonable time. One week after getting it back (it worked great) I got a purple line of pixels down the monitor. Great, now I have to send it back again. Not cool Samsung.

Other Thoughts: Would recommend you buy it as Samsung's warranty service is good. Otherwise, find another 3D monitor.

5 out of 5 eggsWhy aren't there more of these 120hz monitors?

Pros: none

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I just wanted to know why there aren't more of these 120hz monitors around? Why isnt Sam***g making anymore of these? Please make more!!! I've been trying to find one. I can't seem to find one at this price that has as good reviews as this one.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very beautiful monitor. I love it... Smooth gameplay with games like COD and QuakeLive and the picture quality is excellent. Received my monitor in 2 days.

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: If you're worried about this not being a true 120hz monitor then I'm here to tell you not to worry at all. This game can handle 120 FPS easily. This is also coming from someone who hated LCD monitors.

4 out of 5 eggsNO DVI CABLE INCLUDED

Pros: Great monitor perfect for people who play cs. 120hrz is awesome once you get the correct cable. Samsung tech support is awful. Stated it would be 9-14 business days before they could ship me the cable that THEY failed to include.

Cons: Samsung TECH SUPPORT

Other Thoughts: Monitor is perfect and is everyting that I thought it would be. Be aware that the tech support SUCKS if you do have any issues.

5 out of 5 eggsBeautifull

Pros: This monitor is the best purchase I've made for my gaming system, hands down. The picture quality is beautiful bright and crisp.I found the over quality to be excellent.

Cons: None !

Other Thoughts: Some have noted some light bleed on top and bottom of screen and also poorly designed base....But I didn't experience either of these issues. setup took less than 5 minutes. With the onscreen menu it was up and running @ 120 Hz 1680 x 1050

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Exactly as the Reviewers Said

Pros: The title says it all. The display quality looks great and I have not seen any ghosting at all! This is expected if you've read a single review on this monitor.

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: You should know this monitor doesn't have any height adjustment or tilt, and only one DVI input.

Still, this monitor is absolutely perfect for what it is. If you want a 120Hz monitor, THEN YOU NEED THIS MONITOR! :D

5 out of 5 eggsBest Gaming LCD *EVER*

Pros: + 120hz refresh is completely WICKED SICK (ut2k4 reference...) for *competitive* gaming without 3D Vision turned on (which is pointless for competitive gaming anyways). What do I mean? Ghosting is more reduced on this beast than any other monitor I've ever tried, for one - but also, all those jerks saying refresh rate doesn't matter for LCDs are finally eating their words, because now I'm owning them all at TF2. ;)
+ Nice and bright!
+ No dead/stuck pixels whatsoever, but TN panels have been good with this for a little while now. Still impressive since I've been building for a while and I've seen my fair share of imperfections.

Cons: - The stand is pretty poor for front/back tipping support. I almost want to find a different stand for it as long as it's going to last a while.
- MagicBright is useless in all but 3D Vision mode, it causes serious problems in dark scenes because it turns down the brightness by itself...Samsung, come on. I'm glad 3D Vision works flawlessly with it, at least.
- The price still isn't where I want it to be for this level of quality (not extremely high, but pretty good overall)

Other Thoughts: Read: http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/monitors/display/samsung-sm2233rz_11.html#sect0

That's the conclusion - I found that my opinions matched up well with this author's findings.

As others mention, the bottom stand is sort of painful to pop in and out, but it makes the box way smaller, so I'm willing to deal with this compromise. I move around a lot and the nice size of this monitor's box has convinced me to get rid of my 30" Samsung 305T. Also, this product is FAR superior for overall usage, because 120hz makes a difference to my eyes even in normal OS usage! It just feels like liquid, so smoooooth... =)

THIS is new monitor technology, and it's where I'd like to see the general consumer market going. If you're a gamer, buy a TRUE 120hz(or higher, though none are available yet) monitor. You'll "see" what I mean.

Finally: Make sure you FORCE your graphics card settings to 120hz ALWAYS or you'll never even see the smoothness I'm talking about! I wish this was automa

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor, even if you don't use 3D

Pros: 120Hz screen is a big pro on this monitor. As other people have stated it makes a difference even on the desktop. I'm using windows 7, and a lot of things on the desktop seem a lot smoother. The biggest difference I noticed was when moving around windows, there's less of a trail when moving windows around and the windows don't tear if you move them around quickly.

In games this monitor is great. I tried it with a couple FPS's (BC2 and L4D2) and it works great for both. In L4D2 I can lock the game at 120fps with maxed out settings, it really looks fantastic on this screen. In BC2, I can only push about 50-70fps while playing, but the game still benefits from a high refresh rate screen. On my old LCD I got really bad screen tearing in BC2 since vsync is broken in it. With this LCD the screen tearing is non existent, I have not noticed the screen tear once while I've been playing since I got this monitor.

Cons: It's still a TN panel, and still uses a CCFL backlight. The backlight bleed isn't bad, as other people have said it has a little bleed on the top and bottom edge of the screen, and it's only noticable on a black screen.

I came from an IPS panel so the colors seem a little washed out. They looked terrible out of the box but after adjusting the settings quite a bit I got the colors to look quite nice. Still not as good as my old IPS, but it's not bad enough for me to take any eggs off for it.

Other Thoughts: The OSD on this display is nice, my older LCD had a barebones menu so it was refreshing to get something with a menu that has a lot of settings.

Out of the box the picture quality was pretty terrible, the brightness was maxed and the contrast was too high. Also everything had a blue tint. After some thorough adjusting it looks really nice though, so don't get too discouraged if the picture looks kinda bad out of the box.
