Other Thoughts: I purchased this LCD at another retailer during a Cyber Monday sale and was extremely excited to see it arrive. I plugged it in and Win7 immediately recognized it and adjusted accordingly. I pulled up photoshop to do a few quick tests for dead/stuck pixels and found none. The picture and aesthetic of the monitor were amazing.
Then after a few hours, the monitor began emitting a high-pitched, headache-inducing buzz. I changed the refresh rate, resolution, brightness and even the power cord to no avail. I noticed that when I "jiggled" the power cord the buzzing would change. Obviously the fault lied with a poorly-built power inverter. I soon after set up a return.
I'd be more than pleased with this monitor had the power supply not been faulty. I was actually sad to see the monitor go. However, upon further research I found that my experience isn't an isolated one. This kind of poor manufacturing shouldn't be tolerated, and I'm awarding only one star based on my experience.

Amazing color, image & quality

Pros: Bought this in early November. No dead pixels. Installed driver and used software tools to dial in brightness & contrast. Then used Pantone Huey Pro to calibrate. AMAZING image! I do a lot of photo and video editing, and this monitor outperforms monitors costing twice as much. Once adjusted and calibrated, and printing with a calibrated Epson R1800 printer, large glossy print outs look exactly as they do in Photoshop on the monitor.
Almost no banding in gradiants, terrific, smooth motion on video playback in full HD. Even lighting across the whole screen. Just an awesome screen at a great price. You won't be disappointed!
Cons: OK, no HDMI. But since this monitor doesn't have built in speakers, so what? An inexpensive HDMI-to-DVI adaptor and you're golden. There is no advantage to HDMI over DVI on this monitor as it can't show the deeper color space of the latest protocols.
Other Thoughts: This monitor allows you to step up to the high end for a mid-range price. Love it, love it, love it.

GARBAGE! IT MAKES NOISE!

Pros: Are you kidding me?
Cons: Samsung's customer service. Oh, and the fact that the monitor I bought made a humming noise whenever there was a decent amount of dark color on the screen. So did the second one they gave me, and the third as well.
Other Thoughts: First off, I'd just like to say that I am giving this monitor 1 egg because there are no negative eggs. I have been in the middle of the worst consumer experience EVER for the last 8 months. I used to think highly of Samsung, until I bought a monitor that made noise. That wouldn't make me give a 1 egg rating, but the fact that its been over 8 months and 3 monitors later, and I still don't have a refund (nor do I have my monitor anymore. I sent it back to Samsung) makes me irate. I can't even begin to explain my displeasure with this company without breaking into a frenzy of profane and vulgar language. I'll keep it short and sweet. Samsung has the worst customer relations department that I have ever encountered. EVER! DO NOT EXPECT ANY SERVICE FROM THEM AFTER THE INITIAL PURCHASE. It took about 20 phone calls and a typed letter to the headquarters to get some action from them. Pathetic.
