Pros: Sturdy design, nice and bright, sharp picture, accurate colors, fair amount of adjustability. nice looking bezel. Easy install. No dead pixles.

Cons: The contrast isn't as high as I assumed it would be. Upgrading from a Dell monitor hoping for better black levels, not so much here. Pretty average. Still a shade of gray. Side buttons are hard to use, large flashing blue light when in standby mode. No way to disable it. 5ms response time doesn't really cure the ghosting effect. There is bleed through across the bottom of the screen. Enabling the "dynamic contrast" is very distracting. When gaming, it lags behind the action. Turning into a dark room, then a half second later the screen fades black, and you suddenly can't see anything. The hud fades, and the details wash away. For gaming you will have to keep this feature off. So forget the dynamic contrast ratio. It's contrast for most will be stuck at the same ol 1000:1. Poor viewing angles.

Other Thoughts: Now, I don't hate this monitor. I am enjoying it. But it's not much of an upgrade from my cheap dell monitor. The colors are nice, and very accurate. But if you're buying this Samsung for their reputation of great contrast, you mid as well turn away. On the up side, it is very sturdy and feels like it will last me a very long time. I wish the stand was a tad bit sturdier. Overall, a nice monitor, and I would recommend it. But nothing amazing. Maybe if you're upgrading from an ancient crt or dirt cheap lcd.

Pros: Easy assembly and installation. Plugged it in, turned it on, computer recognized it and away we went. I did install the driver from the CD and it installed so easily, I thought something was wrong. The picture is bright with no distortion or dead pixels. What a difference from my old CRT that was about to die. I look for things to do on the computer now, because I love, love, love this monitor.

Cons: no tilt, swivel or height adjustment. Just stack it on something to bring it up to eye level. The soft touch controls get a bit of getting used to. Don't try to force them like buttons.

Pros: Great monitor, easy to set up and adjust. Looks great! Have a Samsung Plasma TV and expected the same performance from their monitors as well. Not disappointed!! Awesome shipping again by New Egg, no damage, no dead pixels.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: CD Manual really didnt work, but the monitor is working as it should, so I will not take an egg away.
