5 out of 5 eggsHighly recommended

Pros: After comparing a handful of monitors, this was the best, at least to my eyes and those of my wife. It does a great job of displaying text clearly at non-native resolutions. The non-glare design is great, so too is the contrast.

Cons: 16x9 aspect ratio means the height leaves something to be desired if moving from a square monitor (i.e. 4x3 or 5x4 aspect ratio).

4 out of 5 eggsUpdate

Pros: just an update, This monitor produces an extremely sharp image. great for movie watching, photo viewing, design and general color intensive application, autoCAD, and various professional apps.

Cons: response time seems slower than advertised after trying it out on a few games i regularly play. But this is not a monitor for gaming so should not be counted as a negative

Other Thoughts: make sure to set Red to 50%, Green to 37%, and Blue to 40% to compensate for the slightly heavy green. leave all the rest of the settings along and set response time to "fastest". Gamma shift still is a problem for a certain level of black (particularly 25% on the color space spectrum). But still produces a way better color and image quality than most of the TN panels you see today.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent for the money

Pros: Not a TN. Amazing contrast ratio (true non dynamic contrast ratio) for a typical monitor, especially compare to the 98% of TN panels out there. Better viewing angle than TN. decent response time compare to IPS panels. Color representation is above average, meaning better than most TN, on par with most PVA, still can't compare to S-IPS.

Cons: Gamma shift issues. apparently it's a PVA technology disadvantage, not the monitor's fault. the so called black crush issue is NOT as bad as some mentioned earlier. IMO they were a bit exaggerated. in color correction, color space (black, gray, white) are all within if not above spec. The color representation is also beyond the standard of sRGB. However, this monitor has a weakness towards 25% gray spectrum, which explains why some might see it as crush blacks, but not to a point that you cannot differentiate the difference between the two dark levels. Above and below 25% gray level spectrum are mostly all above spec and better than majority of the TN. What may constitute as a problem is in situations when the shadow happens to be 25% gray level on the spectrum and is off center of the screen. In that case the shadow may disappear due to gamma shift, NOT because it cannot produce that color. for more information google for "gamma shift an PVA"

Other Thoughts: This monitor is also a bit heavy on the "green" color spectrum, but lower the green down to 37%, and blue to 40% easily solves it. Viewing angle is probably my biggest disappointment. i was hoping for true IPS grade 178 degree h/v. it turns out due to gamma shifting issue of the PVA technology, 178 degree advertised spec doesn't feel as true as what you get with IPS. It's really difficult to judge just how many eggs this monitor really deserve consider the kind of bloated ratings you see people give to the TN's. This is my first PVA monitor, i had very high hopes after previously owning one high end IPS, and several other TNs. unfortunately, my hopes were too high. But to be fair, this monitor still destroys any TN panels out there. This is a perfect monitor situated between the TN and S-IPS market for those who can't afford the high end professional grade, but don't want to settle for a TN. you get all the great contrast, above average color representation, better than TN viewing angl

1 out of 5 eggsWay Too Dark - Not Graphic Pro Friendly

Pros: Cool stand and swivel, but thats about it.
Colors are rich but seem overly saturated. I havent calibrated yet, but according to other reviewers who did calibrate, looks like the saturation doesnt go away.

Cons: SHADOWS!! I noticed a couple reviews talking about super black shadows here, but then saw many more saying how good it was for professional use in graphics. I should've listened to the 'web designer' review!

The monitor is so black everything passed 70% grey just goes deep black and gets completely washed out. I work in photoshop a lot for texturing 3d modeled designs and all the textures read very flat and lose all color depth with the blacked out results.

And the darkness problems happen on 100% brightness and low contrast.

Monitor is good business pro's only (text friendly)

Other Thoughts: Looking to replace this monitor ASAP. Wasted $350 on this.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Panel for Graphics

Pros: Great price and very good color, even for professional graphic design. The tilt/swivel height-adjustable stand is great, and the bezel is real small. Overall a quality product. Thanks newegg!

Cons: Only 1920x1080 (instead of 1920x1200), not an IPS

Other Thoughts: This would be a great entry panel for someone who wants to avoid the troubles of a TN.

1 out of 5 eggsVery Disappointed!

Pros: Good base and very easy to adjust height, angle, etc.

Cons: The color is horrible! Way over saturated and way too much contrast even after adjustment. Absolutely no detail in anything that's dark, especially grays and blacks. Pull up a few pictures on this screen and you will be sorely disappointed in the loss of detail due to too much contrast.

5 out of 5 eggsCompletely satisfied

Pros: Colors, Price, Design, Easiness of choosing different modes (Custom, Text, and so on)

Cons: Blinking light when in "Stand by" mode, but it's not very bright so it doesn't bother me

Other Thoughts: No bad pixels, No buzzing sound

5 out of 5 eggsNice monitor nice price

Pros: Elegant design. Beautiful colors. Responsive display. Great price for the features. Ubuntu 9.04 picked it right up.

Cons: The blinky stand-by light is weird, but this is in my office so it doesn't bother anyone at night.

Not the best for fast-twitch games like Quake 3, but far from un-usable.

Other Thoughts: Not a con for the product, rather the screen size. Having lived with my first widescreen monitor for several weeks, I wish I had gone for a 1920*1200 display to get a bit more vertical resolution.

5 out of 5 eggsSerious Monitor for Serious WORK

Pros: Crisp, perfect, identical monitors in every way (I have 2 side by side). Absolutely perfect color and contrast. Crystal clear text. Full pivot, full height, good tilt, wide viewing angle. A Professional monitor for Professional use.

Cons: 8ms is too slow for fast games. I do miss my CRTs, (I went from Sony Trinitron and NEC FP 21 inch CRTs to two of these), but I don't miss the power bill, the heat, the sagging desk, or the rot that afflicted those decade old workhorses.

Other Thoughts: This monitor is not for gamers. The gamers who gave this a bad review just bought the wrong product. Samsung are very clear that the target audience for this monitor are office workers and graphics professionals. We need sharp contrast, color fidelity, and low eyestrain (no glare/reflectivity, wide viewing angle and lots of adjustment).
If you LIVE and WORK on your monitor, this is the best value on the planet.
If you are a candidate for "Idiocracy", buy the biggest 2ms TN panel you can afford, and stop taking eggs off a monitor that meets the needs of people who make a living on the computer, so that they miss this gem.
