Samsung is continuing to develop better monitors for your entertainment as well as for the planet, like the EX2220X. The 21.5" screen features an LED backlight to yield a brighter screen with less energy, and is more eco-friendly to the environment.

The EX2220X has a native 1920x1080 resolution, 250cd/m² brightness rating and 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio for incredibly detailed pictures. The DVI connector supports 1080p digital video input for exceptional HD performance, and there's a D-Sub connector for analog connection.

A full suite of Samsung’s Magic Technologies works in the background to maximize picture quality. The MagicBright 3 automatically optimizes brightness, contrast and gamma correction, based on the mode you choose: text, game, internet, sports and movie. So, hook the stylishly thin EX2220X into your system and enjoy the best for work and play.

Pros: good picture quality (except for grays)

Cons: On the one I got, the monitor would flicker really bad when rendering grays of any shade. This kills the usefulness of it for me.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome display

Pros: Awesome display, bright, clear, cool and a great price. I decided to purchase it instead of the unit that came with my new HP computer.
Easy setup and did not need the drivers as Win 7 took care of automatically setting up the display.

Cons: None, except it would be nice if it had an HDMI connection

5 out of 5 eggsWorth every penny

Pros: Coming from a sony xbrite display, I can say I am truly impressed with these monitors. I am running two of these in a dual display, and both monitors are flawless. No dead pixels, no variation in color intensity etc between the two.

I was worried about quality based on their current low price, but that has proven to be an invalid concern.

Did I mention the display is beautiful? You will need to do some tweaking to get the colors corrected to your liking, but you'll have to do that with any monitor you order.

Cons: I've seen a lot of complaints about the placement of the buttons, but that has not been an issue for me. I have no real issues with the monitors that I wasn't aware of prior to purchase.

If I were to complain about anything, I would have liked a taller base.

Other Thoughts: For the price, you can't go wrong with this monitor. I picked up two of them for a third of the price I paid years ago for my 19" sony xbrite with limited resolution.

If you do have a problem with the size/placement/availability of the control buttons, Magictune is supposed to give you access to all of the options from within your OS - though I have yet to get it working in win7 x64.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Looks amazing, wide viewing angle. LED for a great price, uses very little power.

Cons: The first one I purchased had a faulty power plug. Returned got a new one, not all the LEDs turned on immediately, magically worked later.

Other Thoughts: buttons are on bottom and difficult to use, and not the best feel. Although I prefer the cleaner look this affords.

be careful not to damage the power socket, and make it wobbly.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent monitor

Pros: Top-flight picture quality right out of the box, having made almost no adjustments in using with cable TV set top box, and HDTV looks beautiful. The LED backlight, with its instant-on and no change in brightness with warmup (as is the case with my Samsung SyncMaster 244T), is so much better that LED backlight is mandatory for me from now on, unless I'm going super-cheap for some pedestrian application. Power switch is easier to use than with 244T.

The brightness & contrast don't need adjustment with changes in room light level (daytime to night), seeming to always be optimum.

Cons: Too limited tilt control — I've had to resort to spacers under base to get good vertical alignment, as vertical viewing angle is rather limited, with color & intensity going off at only 30° off axis (below axis is worse than above axis). Limited inputs, VGA & DVI only, could be a minor limitation, especially compared to the full variety on my 244T. The glossy black frame and its reflections is annoying, much less desirable than the matte black 244T frame, but it looks like Samsung has gone to all gloss, all the time, which I don't like.

Other Thoughts: Didn't buy at my prime online vendor NewEgg, having gotten great deal at local store after seeing in operation and loving what I saw.

4 out of 5 eggsJust got it. WOW!

Pros: Much better than the asus flourescent backlit model i bought last year. Colors look UNBELIEVABLE. I watched a bit of fifth element on netflix and loaded up minecraft. my brain can't handle the goodness. Beautiful 60hz monitor so far

Cons: instructions for putting stand together dont' make sense unless you pop the cd in and go to the instructions there.

Other Thoughts: The magictune software ran once. then never ran again (Windows 7 64 bit).

Also, LCD's are finally getting close to CRTs. I can see what looks like the familiar 60hz flicker on the screen. Just like with the old CRTs. I may end up trading up to a 120hz if my budget allows it.

The other huge plus is that LED backlights are much easier on me than fluorescent ones. I am currently electrosensitive (tube CRTs give me nasty headaches, flourescents vary in how they affect me). This one, especially on 'standard' magicbright mode - doesn't really affect me all. Just have to get used to 60hz eyestrain I guess.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: bright

Cons: flashing standby light bright and intrusive

Other Thoughts: single dead pixel in the middle of the screen in the bottom right quadrant. newegg won't cover the return cost as they're not the manufacturer. not too noticeable unless screen is a solid color.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Everything looks great connected through DVI, LED backlit, better viewing angles than some other LCDs.

Cons: Feels a little cheap, bad menu buttons.

Other Thoughts: Definitely worth the price.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Display

Pros: The Display is wonderful. Next to my other two screens their white looks like yellow. The Contrast is beautiful, and I couldn't ask for more. As a Graphic and Web Designer I cannot afford a cheap monitor. This is worth the buy... big time. I am replacing my other two monitors for two more of these bad boys.

Cons: Button position bad

Other Thoughts: Great

1 out of 5 eggsNo stand adjustment

Pros: Regular LCD screen with LED backlighting

Cons: Stand is really bad, no adjustment. The lack of position adjustment makes the monitor unusable unless you are very short.
