3 out of 5 eggsDecent monitor, but has some shortfalls

Pros: Picture is bright and clear.

Cons: Monitor cannot be removed from the stand, so it is not mountable in any way. Stand has no height adjustment, very little tilt adjustment, and is not very stable. No VGA input if you have integrated graphics or a legacy system. External AC adapter making clean cable management more difficult.

Other Thoughts: Overall I wouldn't definitely not buy this monitor again. It looked great as I purchased this back when LED was the new hotness, but it definitely has enough usability issues to consider other options now.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Samsung (reliable). Great picture after over a year of heavy use. Thin.

Cons: Not mountable (loses an egg here). I don't like the external power supply, but that's just personal preference.

Other Thoughts: I swear by Samsung. My secondary monitor is a 17" LCD that I've had for 10+ years. Picture isn't close to as crisp as this monitor, but it's been through major moves and heavy use and doesn't seem to be quitting any time soon. I use it for web browsing and word processing as I really prefer square monitors for those tasks.

I'm a gamer and also use this monitor to watch movies and TV shows.

REALLY wish this monitor was mountable. I'm thinking about replacing it because of that factor as I want to install wall mounts to save desk space among other factors.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful Monitor!

Pros: Nice and bright, clear picture it's an amazing picture quality. I used to wonder why people would say Samsung made the best looking monitors, now I know why. Packaging was great and of course setting it up was a breeze. Nice stand but sits a little low. It's decent size monitor so it doesn't matter that much.

Cons: Samsung's MagicTune software didn't work at all. I typically adjust my monitor from the monitor but I thought it would be nice to be able to use the keyboard to adjust settings on the fly while gaming. Apparently it's not compatible with my EVGA GTX 580. I looked on the compatibility list and most of the video cards it is compatible with are integrated and very low quality. They should look into that.

Other Thoughts: All in all, wonderful monitor, going to buy another one. Very happy with this purchase and I'll keep Samsung in mind in the future. If you're in the market for a nice monitor, don't hesitate to pick this up, very good investment.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: Easy to config! With magictune (included) you can set the contrast/brightness and everything else with the software and it syncs with your monitor. So you don't have to move your monitor out to make any adjustments. Nice and bright, awesome colors, looks great for gaming or watching movies. I highly recommend buying this if your a hardcore gamer.

Cons: Not adjustable stand but I knew this going in. It sits just a littler higher then I'd like but I'm getting used to it. The stand itself is sturdy I can't knock it over and I'm trying! Pricey but as with most things in life, you get what you pay for!

Other Thoughts: The calibration software included didn't do the trick for me. Luckily I found some free software that set everything perfectly. It's called "Monitor Calibration Wizard" and I referenced these setting to the pictures on All contrast and colors are great!

1 out of 5 eggsSamsung should be ashamed

Pros: Bright colors, looks nice but that's it

Cons: Backlight bleed along bottom distorts color tint and dark area at the top. Terrible! I returned two of these to Samsung. They just kept sending another with the same problem. Huge QC issue. Finally just gave up.

Other Thoughts: How could CNET get it so wrong? Are the happy reviewers just not paying attention to this? I have had a Samsung LCD monitor before and currently own a Samsung LCD HD TV. Very pleased with the quality on both of those but now I am not sure I want to buy from Samsung again. What happened to Samsung quality?

5 out of 5 eggsVery Happy!

Pros: Great quality, intuitive menu, easy setup and for a non-VESA base mount, surprisingly sturdy. Looks pretty too. No dead pixels, and fonts look crystal clear out of the box. Thought I had an issue with interference but turned out I accidentally set the signal to 30hz (durrrp!) so can't fault Samsung for my stupidity. No noticeable ghosting in native resolution on GTA IV, Portal 2, Half-Life 2, CoD:MW2 and DNF. Su-freaking-perb.

Cons: Tilt does not go down past 90 degrees so you can't angle downward. Angling up is fine though.

Other Thoughts: Replaced my Viewsonic G220fb which served me very well for 11 years. This new monitor is way more efficient, easier to lift (by like 30 pounds) and the brightness and picture quality is great. I am very satisfied with my purchase. GET THIS.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat panel....

Pros: I purchased this monitor for gaming (which I have been doing since 1991) and home office use. I am blown away at the quality of the picture and the response time. I have invested heavily in the past to get the best monitor that I can and this puts all of them to shame. Get it.....calibrate it with MagicTune and won't spend your money any more wisely for a display.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: A few thoughts:

People have mentioned the stand and I guess it could be more substantial but the stand is a non issue.

Finally, on the MagicTune calibration, I am going to add this in hopes that it helps folks get the most out of their monitor because I had to look long and hard to find a simple explanation of the calibration tool in MagicTune.....When you get to the calibration section and hit 'Launch' there will be a series of screens with small horizontal lines across the entire screen. In the center will be a "box" where the lines have been removed and a smaller box inside there. Along the bottom of the screen there is a slider with several reference boxes. Now, look to the top right or left and focus on the corner of the moitor where you can see the "box" only with your periphreal vision. Then, move the slider until the box is no longer visible in your periphreal vision. Hit 'next' and do the same for the remaining screens. Hope this helps!

5 out of 5 eggsSamsung PX2370

Pros: I upgraded from an old Samsung Syncmaster 214T. Immediatley I noticed the defference in picture quality as well as much more vibrant colors on the PX2370. The response time has been excellent after testing it with Battefield Bad Company 2 and also Dawn of War 2 Retribution, everything looks much sharper. Cosmetically it is very thin which is a nice change from the bulkier 214T I upgraded from. The monitor does move ever so slightly if I bump my computer desk over my old one mainly because there is not a ton of weight to it like the other, but have not found any fault with the base portion of the monitor like others have but I guess it really depends on the stability of your computer desk. I played with the calibration options and looked up some other forums about what people thought looked the best but I was happy with the settings out of the box ultimately. I also tested the monitor with a xbox 360 via HDMI but the colors did not seem as vibrant, and a little dark.

Cons: The monitor that I received had a vertical white line appear on the right hand side after about 15 minutes of use, so I had to return the monitor to newegg for a new one. I am not too concerned about this, every once and a while a product has a defect; no big deal. There was a review on here that said they had to pay to ship the monitor back, this is not true. Just request a shipping label from newegg, they send one for UPS to your email and then just slap it on the package with the RMA barcode and you are good to go.

Other Thoughts: I cant wait to get this monitor back and start playing with it again, I am sure Battlefield 3 will look great on it when it comes out this fall. Great monitor for the price!
