SAMSUNG E2420L Black 23.6" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 DC 70,000:1 (1,000:1)

Pros: Beautiful screen, great colors, bright and vibrant while blacks are black. Once you install the Samsung app, you do adjust the screen with your mouse! Going from a 19" LCD that ran 1440 x 900, so am very much enjoying 1900 x 1080. Love the extra real estate in SC2!

Cons: As another reviewer said, buttons on the bottom of the bezel, which does make it difficult to used them. Installing the software negates this, though. One other demerit: does not include a DVI cable. For the money paid for this monitor, I almost want to deduct an egg for that one.

Other Thoughts: Sorry NewEgg. I almost exclusively source from you, but I had to have a monitor right away and didn't want to pay $44 for overnight shipping. Got it at a local brick and mortar for $159.99 plus tax.

Pros: 300 cd/m2 brightness is the huge advantage of this screen. I have not seen much monitors at this price range with this brightness. Everything has been really good so far. Their are multiple default settings that you can choose. Good monitor :)

Cons: I hate to get rid of an egg for this one just because how the body is constructed... The base is kinda cheap with plastic material (Why...Samsung... why...). Setting buttons are located on the bottom of the screen, and these floating graphics are also black make it really hard to use these buttons ( there are only 5 buttons so you it's not hard to get used to it ).

Other Thoughts: Other than cheap material and hard to navigate buttons, this is a great-to-buy monitor. One-of-a-kind in this price range.

Pros: Amazing quality! I had an old monitor that messed up the colors immensely, this one is spot on, and looks great! 1080p support over DVI is awesome too!

Pros: This screen has great color, contrast, and probably the best viewing angle I've ever seen. Got it on sale for the wife's computer and she loves the widescreen ratio. Very nice screen, I'd definitely recommend it. Personally, I prefer 16x10 ratio, but my wife does a lot of side-by-side work as a teacher so this works perfectly for her.

Pros: It's a pretty great monitor. The picture quality is excellent.

Cons: The stand is complete garbage. This stand wobbles so much that its unbearable. As I am typing this now, the screen is wobbling. I'm not slamming my fingers into the keyboard either. I am typing as softly as i can, but the way this stand connects to the back of the monitor is so poorly designed that any movement seems to be amplified. The connection of the base to the monitor is shoddy at best. It's incredibly loose. I have gone over the instructions several times and had a friend look at it, JUST to make sure I wasn't missing a step putting it together...
My frustrations are multiplied by these annoying "touch sensitive" buttons. They are hardly sensitive and since the stand is so loose, I feel like im gonna knock my monitor over everytime I try to adjust a setting.

I am going to try to get this replaced on the off chance I got an oddball that's not up to spec, but I have heard rumblings from others about the quality of samsung stands.

Other Thoughts: Overall I wouldn't recommend this, unless you have a special use case where you won't be using the stand.

Samsung missed the mark.

Pros: This LCD is great for the price. It seems to have a fast enough refresh rate to keep up with my gaming. It comes with both DVI and VGA inputs.

Cons: A con is it only comes with a VGA cable and not a DVI cable so you'll need to buy one separately if you don't have one. The base is a little cheap, but what do you expect at this price point.

Other Thoughts: Overall its a great screen at this price point.

Other Thoughts: Overall very pleased with this purchase. Got this model while it was on sale for $130 and couldn't be happier. A vast improvement over an older HP widescreen LCD. The picture is beautiful, the response is crisp, colors vivid and blacks nice and deep. My only downside is that the stand only adjusts on a swivel hinge, so no adjusting the screen up or down, just the angle. Otherwise it is sturdy and the setup was easy, just plug and play. Also, no dead pixels!

Pros: Very big screen size, bright, and easy to change settings.

My last LCD Samsung has lasted over 7 years and is still working. I highly recommend this product.

Other Thoughts: LCD has a longer life span then LED or plasma.

Pros: VERY NICE AND WIDE SCREEN! auto detection from analog to digital.

Cons: no HDMI but oh well.

Other Thoughts: I bought this on a black friday sale and glad I did!
