5 out of 5 eggsA very good gaming and work monitor

Pros: I bought the monitor specifically for the 16:10 aspect ratio, which is rare (16:9 becoming the "HD Standard"). No regrets for shelling out the extra money.

The "eco" function which detects ambient light and adjusts the brightness accordingly has three sensitivity settings. I keep my sensitivity on the lowest, and it works marvelously at adjusting anywhere from bright daytime sunlight to no light at all at night.

When I use it for gaming, the colors are rich and vibrant. When I use it for work, the text is sharp and clear and contributes very little to eye fatigue.

There is a bulky power supply, but there's a spot behind the monitor where you can mount the power supply so it is out of the way. All you have to manage is a power cord.

The bezel around the monitor is very well made, without any flex or "flimsy" feeling to it. It's not aluminum or "glass" like some of the more higher end monitors, but the matte black fits in nicely with the rest of my desktop.

Cons: I dislike how flimsy the buttons feels. However, once you get the initial setup out of the way, you hardly ever have to touch the buttons again (I just leave my monitor on, in standby mode, when I am not using it).

The menu itself could use a proper human-machine interface specialist to look at it. You have to dig through more than one layer to get at some of the more "popular" options. However, again, once you get through the initial setup, you won't hardly have to touch it.

Other Thoughts: For an LED PLS monitor, this is a fantastic value. I use it for both work and play, and it does a marvelous job of it. The base is sturdy and the monitor will not wobble.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat 24" Monitor

Pros: I just ordered my second one of these to replace a different, older monitor. The first one I bought over a year ago and absolutely loved, so when one of my others died, naturally I went and bought a second one of these Samsungs. It's 1920x1200 16:10 with vivid colors and fast response time, and the screen technology works well for everything I throw at it (games, web, videos). The monitors support DVI and Displayport inputs, but no HDMI so keep that in mind. The USB 3.0 hubs built into the back are very convenient; I didn't expect to care about or use them, but my first one's USB ports are almost always full.
The stand it comes with has a wide range of motion you can use to set it up just how you want, which is wonderful.

Cons: The stand is pretty easy to adjust on accident, which can be annoying if you accidentally bump the monitor.

Other Thoughts: I've read people saying that the monitor has issues with light bleed, but for me personally, I haven't seen anything of the sort on either of the two I now own of this model. Still, worth considering before purchasing.
The other thing to remember is that USB 3.0 uses a pretty hefty amount of data bandwidth, so having the 4 ports on the monitor in use can potentially affect the USB ports on the back of the computer, or vice versa.

5 out of 5 eggsThe Best 24" Monitor as of The Beginning of 2013

Pros: This thing is nicer than the 24" Dell ultrasharps. ultrasharps are LCD this one is LED. I'm not going to list all the advantages of LED, if you need to know google will tell you. Anyway it's a PLS witch is samsungs version of IPS (feel free to look into it). It's a 1920x1200 16x10" monitor. It's plenty bright, has very vivid colors, crystal clear, and all of the hookups you need. It has a 2m response time, the ultrasharp has a 6m (lower is better). Also it's the same price as the ultrasharp. This monitor has the ultrasharp beaten in almost every aspect, and mached in the ones it doesn't. You should really consider getting one of these if your looking for the best, and willing to pay the money.

PS- I don't work for samsung or anything if that's what your thinking, I'm just a little on the picky side incase you couldn't tell.

Cons: The only thing I would change is I would make it a little stiffer to raise, lower, and turn on its side. I'm OCD and if you bump it you can shift it to where it's not level too easily.

Other Thoughts: Newegg has this monitor listed as a 16x9 1920x1080 display, but it's actually a 16x10 1920x1200 display. Good thing I did my research before buying or I wouldn't have bought this monitor.

Here is the link If you want the actual specs on this monitor. SKU numbers are the same, and I purchased mine from newegg so I can confirm it's a 1200p 16x10.
