5 out of 5 eggsAMAZING!

Pros: GIGANTIC monitor almost too much...nice quality as you can expect from Samsung. Great price. Contrary to that guy saying you only have three settings to adjust ...non-sense you actually get several controls plus modes. The headphone holder is AWESOME!

Cons: Stand is a bit flimsy, how the heck do you remove the base if you ever need to put it back in the box to transport?

4 out of 5 eggsvery, very pleased

Pros: bright, bright monitor, no dead pixels. the 5ms gtg had me concerned but if there is any ghosting i cant tell, and i play shooters. great fov from about 20" back. headphone hanger is a cute gimmick, although why they didn't put two more holes in the back to allow left side placement is odd.

Cons: lost an egg for the utterly ridiculous lack of control options. i mean really, why would you put 3 preset gamma choices rather than a slider? and, because there is only one input button, where you do have sliders (cont and bt), if you want to change something from 75% to 76% you have to hold the stupid button down until it scrolls all the way around. not too much of a biggie, i just set one of the factory presets and fixed it with my video card software.

Other Thoughts: a personal beef of mine is peeps complaining about stuff that is spelled out in the specs. no there is no VESA or HDMI, yes that is clearly stated in the specs, its not a con. do be aware that if you watch alot of blu-ray stuff this DVI-only monitor will not be able to handle HDCP encoded disks, you need HDMI or display port for that. as far a quality of picture however, DVI and HDMI are identical: 0's and 1's is 0's and 1's kids.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Looks great, great price

Cons: Terrible ghosting after a few months.

Other Thoughts: After swearing off any Dell monitors I decided to try this one. Another bad experience. Wonder if Samsung makes the Dell Monitors ? Either way...stay away.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat on desktop.

Pros: - Bright
- Crisp
- Large
- No dead pixels
- Price

Cons: - Only two buttons in the corner for menu access
- not a lot of variety in the menu options
- As usual with desktop monitors straight on is always the ideal viewing angle.

Other Thoughts: Without any benchmark, IMO I have an acceptable picture out of box. Still, a little more customization of the image would be nice. This has your standard-by-now Samsung Magic Bright settings for predefined brightness and contrast, but it isn't robust as previous Samsung monitors I've used. I find 27" from the screen to be a comfortable distance to sit, as it happens. If it were in my budget I'd get a high refresh rate monitor for 3D instead. This will make a good primary monitor for now and a great secondary monitor later.

1 out of 5 eggsIt broke

Pros: Worked for 3 months

Cons: Worked for 3 months, shows white screen

Other Thoughts: Pretty disappointing, I was able to get video back by smacking the back of the monitor, I'm not sure how long that will last though.
The only monitors that have failed on me were Samsung.

4 out of 5 eggsGood monitor for the price

Pros: 1920x1080 is still a good sweet spot if you aren't crazy about dropping $500 on a monitor to get the mega resolutions. I use this monitor for both office tasks and gaming and it is adequate for either (especially gaming). The monitor is very lightweight and easy to setup just about anywhere you have room for it. The frame is very low profile for such a large screen but it is still very sturdy. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this monitor.

Cons: My primary complaint with this monitor is that it uses an external AC converter. I understand that samsung wanted to keep the prifile slim, and they accomplished this very well, but it still means that I can't just pull out one of my standard three prong AC power cords if I ever loose track of the AC converter. Also, if anything happens to that AC converter I'll be looking for another one online...
One last thing, I haven't played with it enough to say this is a conclusive con but it seems to me whenever I lean back in my office chair the screen will dim out, like when you lean too far to the side of the monitor. I don't know if I have the backlight too low or the contrast set wrong (I like to turn things down) but it seems that the virtical view angle is a bit more accute than some of my other monitors.

Other Thoughts: I bought this monitor on sale and it is still definately worth the money. Its utilitarian, economical, and could fit into any environment.

1 out of 5 eggsBroke after 3 months

Pros: Average monitor for the size.

Cons: The screen scrambles pretty often. Without a long warranty the monitor cost us over $200 for a little over 3 months of work.

Manufacturer Response:

Anonymous:

If you purchased this monitor brand-new, then you have a 3-year warranty.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent large monitor

Pros: Quick shipping as always. Monitor is sharp and bright and BIG! This is my first 27 inch monitor. Very impressed with this monitor with sub $200 price tag. Great basic monitor for casual computing!

Cons: No HDMI or Display port.

Other Thoughts: Very basic functionality but I bought it for size. Looks good with DVI hookup but I wish it had HDMI.
