3 out of 5 eggsSettings

Pros: Picture is great; no problems in that realm.

Cons: Settings interaction is a multi-function "joystick",on the bottom of the monitor, not unlike a PS controller. It works badly. I really wish not to deal, or have to touch it. It really does not recognize what position it's in, or acknowledge a click. I just hope that I don't have to touch it again for functionality's sake.

Other Thoughts: Samsung, you would have a 5 star; we don't mind buttons. Do them.

4 out of 5 eggsmore than expected

Pros: Very good resolution. Keeps up with my fps for gaming (arma 3). Easy to use settings/adjustments.

Cons: Audio output on rear is very distorted I assume due to the em field, I would not recommend using it.

Other Thoughts: My gear Samsung C350 27" screen, Thermaltake chaser MK-1, gigabyte g1 sniper Z87, Intel i7-4770k (LGA 1150), Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo, EVGA GeForce GTX 770, Intel 530 series SSD, Corsair HX850

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It's big!

Cons: Power button is actually a menu toggle stick and not a true power button. Meaning you have to press the stick and chose "Power" to turn it off. So you better be careful with what you watch and someone walks in on you, there will be no turning it off fast enough to not let them see that kitty video you are watching.

4 out of 5 eggsFabulous no-frills monitor

Pros: None of the pixels are dead or malfunctioning. Slim monitor design (which is why I picked this one). Excellent colour representation. Full brightness is quite bright. I have it positioned 3-1/2' away and all the fonts and graphics are still easy to see because of the large screen. It's perfect for watching a movie or TV show, even from 8'-9' away. The high quality that you may expect from Samsung is built into this monitor. Only two minor issues.

Cons: The monitor menu is a somewhat difficult to manage. It's navigated with a button that can click up and on four sides (kind of like a joystick) but that isn't the problem. The issue is that it requires a click, a back click, and then another click just to get to the main menu. From there you have to do a side click and then you're finally in the Picture settings. This won't be an issue if you get used to it.
Only brightness, contrast, and volume are quickly accessible but I don't like to manually adjust the brightness, and the volume is only useful if you use the screen's auxiliary out. I prefer MagicBright to be on the quick access menu.
The "Cinema" MagicBright setting makes skin tones too red on the screen. Audrey Hepburn from Breakfast at Tiffany's suddenly looks tan in Cinema mode. In a different movie, with people who where already tan, the skin tone changed to sunburnt. I won't be using the Cinema mode.

Other Thoughts: I "upgraded" to this 27" monitor from a two-year-old 21.5" monitor that was also from Samsung. This monitor lacks some features that a smaller Samsung monitor might have such as more options in the menu, quick and easy touch-sensitive menu navigation, and a denser amount of pixels. With this monitor, it comes down to whether you want a large screen or certain extras. Also the Cinema setting colour issue that I mentioned in the cons was not present on the other monitor.
