5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Display

Pros: Looks great!!! Excellent contrast and color reproduction. Response time is perfect for high-FPS gaming. Low power consumption.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: LED back light means no high-voltage inverter circuit, which means no EM noise. This was an issue for me with my previous monitor, an Acer X263w. The noise would interfere with the control panel for my Logitech Z5500.

The base measures 7.75" deep and 10.25" wide. Given how thin and light this monitor is, I think it could be made a bit slimmer; at least in depth. Maybe I just need a bigger desk...

5 out of 5 eggsNice Monitor (23.6'')

Pros: Great overall Monitor, picture, resolution, LED, HDMI,
I got a great deal for $160 around black Friday
It's a perfect fit for my desk

Cons: A little unstable, super sensitive to vibration

Other Thoughts: I like the power/ options/ display button. My previous Dell Monitor power button fell off after years of use. I highly recommend this monitor, especially for the price I bought it at

5 out of 5 eggsReview of Two side-by-side monitors

Pros: Great monitor, actually bought two for my home office.

Packaging was straightforward easy to unbox

Resolution is great! This sounds corny, but I'll sometimes just stare at the wallpaper because of the density/high res on it. That good.

Great customer service (had a hiccup as seen on Cons section below). Felt very "VIP" which made up for the small hassle.

Very sleek stand with the see-thru "neck". also, nice backing which is great since my desk faces out to the study entrance, always gets compliments for being a monitor.

Cons: Unfortunately one of my monitors had a 3 pixel cluster issue (dead pixels). It was very hard to spot really, I showed my friends and my wife, and they couldn't see what I was seeing. But I verified it with a white wallpaper and was more noticeable. Thankfully the Samsung customer team was incredibly responsive. I filled out the registration form on the Samsung site, then filed for RMA on the same Samsung site. Received a call in a couple of hours, got the help of getting an advanced exchange so I wouldn't be without my second monitor. Received what seemed to be a brand new monitor, so that was a plus. I felt "VIP" because they would constantly email me and call me leaving voicemail in each phase of the RMA, that was pretty cool.

The other con I would say is the vivid colors aren't as bold with VGA input, but I fixed it by using HDMI. Still, the colors were much bolder than my old dual Sony monitors I had (SDM-HS75).

makes it harder to look at other monitors after this.

Other Thoughts: Just a heads up the button is at the bottom of the monitor, its a joystick-type of button/setup. Took about 1 full minute to get used to though.

5 out of 5 eggsGood picture

Pros: Great price, samsung quality picture, adjustable base

Cons: No dvi input

Other Thoughts: For the 150 bucks or so that this cost me over black friday/cyber monday weekend, just couldnt go wrong. Samsung quality, 27 inch monitor.

5 out of 5 eggsWow

Pros: Easy, easy, easy to setup with a super thin screen.
LCD and LED backlit with a very decent 5 ms GTG
HDMI ready, and once you get the colors to where you want them your work is done.

Cons: Some people have noted the control button is somewhat odd, but it takes about 30 secs to understand the configuration. I like it because of the massive funcionality of the setup and how many ways you have to refine the picture. I think the problem is most people are used to that seperate power button, and I still go to turn the screen off like i used too; however, the monitor is power efficient and there is no vibrant light blinking to bug you so..eh go along and you get along.

Other Thoughts: I have been searching and selecting monitors for three months on this site. I was using an older 19" Samsung syncmaster LCD active matrix so it looked great, but no 1080p. Right before buying this I had moved to the pre order stage on a 27" that was on sale, and thank goodness I caught that it was a TN panel. Then three days later I see this on sale for $169 and I am somewhat excited but ready for the letdown upon finding something about it not right. It was perfect, I ordered on a sunday and even though it came with free shipping I paid the $3 for 2-3 day. It came on Monday! My son was right. After buying a EVGA SC GTX 760 and a FX-8350 from Newegg he said the biggest difference would come form the monitor. Wow, how much simpler can I say it? I play Final Fantasy XIV and transition to 1080p was amazing. I wish I had room for three screens because I would absolutely buy two more of these, and be in MMO heaven.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Screen

Pros: Purchased with a new computer build. First LED TV Monitor. I have had a Samsung LCD for 4 years and loved it with no issues. The LED is lightweight can place anywhere. The screen sets on a pedastal with no screws necessary. Connected to computer with HDMI cable and screen detail is amazing. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a HD monitor for their computer.

Cons: None at all.

5 out of 5 eggsSince There No Comments...

Pros: To Neil...
On your first point, any monitor I've ever seen underscans when connected via HDMI. I'm not sure if it's a Windows or driver "feature" but this was done because they assume HDMI means you're connecting to a TV, not a monitor, and possibly even cloning a display that's on a regular monitor. Set the scan to 100% and you're good.

For your second point, go to a store that sells board-level electronic components and look at how bulky a DVI connector is. If I was engineering such a product, I'd make the same choice. My computer also doesn't have a floppy drive or RS232 ports. Whoopee.

For your third point, keeping electronic gear on standby rather than off can actually help longevity... the sub-one-watt standby power will keep the insides just a teeny bit warmer than the surrounding air and will prevent condensation. Back in the day, I was the Maintenance Engineer at an analog (tape-based) recording studio and we kept everything on 24/7 for that reason. And with most modern equipment, "off" is really standby anyway. If it's a "soft" button, like on an ATX case, it's only truly off if it's unplugged or switched off at the power strip.

Cons: My current monitor can't be opened without destroying, and it's got a "singing" cap in the inverter (fluorescent back-lighting), but my wife won't let me replace it until either it dies altogether or my Preferred Card is completely paid off. :...-<)

Other Thoughts: I know this review is more of a " Replies to existing customer reviews; please do not attempt to initiate discussions here." violation, but there were mistakes made in that review that I felt should be pointed out.
