1 out of 5 eggsDied at 31 days old

Pros: Inexpensive and comes with vertical tilt.

Cons: When I first fired it up, it immediately looked like old tech. Hard to describe exactly, but it had a subdued grainy and yellowish overall image, like flat panels of olden yore. I looked it up and this model's heyday was the Win XP generation.

Well, it just barely does not qualify for Newegg RMA (which would have been 30 days). Arg.

From what I'm reading here, attempting to get warranty service with Samsung will be an effort in futility. I guess this is just a bad model line, but you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: I have have not had bad luck with Samsung. I have several of their monitors and they have always performed perfectly. But those were all brand new. This one is a refurb, one that prolly made it's way back to the mfg because of the faulty tech that everyone here is complaining about. No doubt juiced just enough to last the 30 days. I so rarely buy refurbs for this kind of reason, but I had to learn the lesson again anyway.

5 out of 5 eggsMine is perfect

Pros: Nice display, decent color, adjustable height.

Cons: Bad power cord

Other Thoughts: I almost ordered two of these, and I wish I had. With how nice mine is, I was surprised to see the only comments were for DOA and bad pixel units.

Having no idea how many were sold, it's hard to say which is a better representation.

Oddly, I did have a problem with the power cord. The standard IEC power cord that came with mine wouldn't fit properly in the socket. Power would flicker off and on. I replaced it with one of the many spares that I have floating about, and it was rock-solid. I might remove half an egg for that.

1 out of 5 eggsYou guys were LUCKY!!!

Pros: Price and size

Cons: DOA

Other Thoughts: Bad pixels??? I WISH!!!

3 years ago, after my 3rd Samsung TV in a row, and 3 monitors dying with bad caps....I swore that I would NEVER buy Samsung again. Last year I received notice of a Samsung lawsuit and settlement "Bad Capacitors" . I received 3 claim forms and sent them in. 2 Years later and after several inquiries I get NO REPLY from the settlement administrator.

I then SWORE up and down that I would NEVER buy another Samsung again.

Well....I broke my own rules 2 weeks ago, and low and behold I get my great "deal"...what I thought would be a perfect monitor for my home files server, and of course the G o d s are now laughing at me for going against my own rules.

Now 12$ to return this Samsung trash, and probably get more trash back as a replacment.

Samsung...your reputation was ONCE second to none, but your bean counters desire to save a few pennies per monitor to purchase cheap inferior capacitors will/has destroyed your reputation.

I have purchased 4 new large TVs for the home...bypassing the LOWER prices on Samsung TVs. NONE of those TVs have the name Samsung on at least I stuck to my word on the TV side.

1 out of 5 eggsmany dead pixels

Pros: cheap and you pay for what you got.

Cons: many dead pixels.
waste of energy and money. I won't ship this again.

Other Thoughts: dead pixels in the midle of the screen are annoying. I may have to keep it and salvage it because of return policy.

get something else unless you like dead pixels

2 out of 5 eggsExcellent monitor is not for the dead pixels

Pros: I have couple of these monitors that I bought back in 2006. Excellent monitor for simple programming. This refurb has dead pixels.

Cons: dead pixels in the center!

Other Thoughts: If the dead pixels were on the edges then I wouldn't care. But these dead pixels are close to the center. Quite annoying when editing.
