2 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor -- But died in 2 months

Pros: Great display, great price, and I've always trusted Samsung's products.

Cons: Stand is somewhat restrictive. Died after 2 months! *update* died again just before 2 year mark, see "Other"

Other Thoughts: Getting a warranty repair/replacement... hopefully this won't happen again, but I can't give it a full 5 stars due to the screen dying.
*update*
Monitor died again just under 2 years after purchase. Monitor gets no power at all, and tried replacing the power adapter. I now have to get an out of warranty repair for what I'm assuming will be a huge portion of the cost of the monitor itself. These should last longer than 2 years.

2 out of 5 eggsPoor Design Choice

Pros: The picture was beautiful. The colors were amazing. The resolution was what I wanted and I got it at the price I wanted it at.

Cons: Instead of a button they used a swipe detector for a power switch. We started having problems within 3 months of buying the monitor. It would go through periods where it would just not recognize us trying to turn it on. You would rub it 7 or 8 times before it acknowledged and turned on.

For a year we were able to get around this buy just leaving the monitor on and allowing Windows to cut it off when it went to sleep. This was annoying but you take the good with the bad I supposed. About 3 weeks ago it just stopped all together.

Other Thoughts: While it worked this was a great monitor. If asked 6 months ago it was a solid 4 stars for us and I would have recommended it.

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful and Affordable

Pros: Great on-screen setup, beautiful screen and affordable. I've had this monitor for a while now and I'm very happy with it. Solid, quality monitor.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I did have one go out on me within a few months, and had to use Samsung's warranty repair. It was actually not a bad experience.

2 out of 5 eggsSwing and a miss for Samsung

Pros: Good picture, bright and very clear.

Cons: Everyone says wobbly stand, but really the main problem is light bleed and viewing angle. Gaming or watching dark movies are very distracting at normal desk position - the edges are very gray and the blacks aren't black. If you sit back or stand past 5ft, it goes away and looks fantastic, but that distance is not useful for a monitor.

Other Thoughts: Returning it.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great monitor! sleek and matches my case. Stand is sturdy but shakes when bumped, so just don't bump it.

Cons: 5ms delay, but really it's the best monitor I have ever had so I wouldn't know the difference

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Looks gorgeous, great picture. The game mode really makes colors shine. No dead pixels.

Cons: The biggest con by far is the stand. This things wobbles back and fourth at the slightest movement of your computer desk. So if intense gaming is your thing, this may not be for you. I have two large speakers I have to push up against the sides of the monitor the help stabilize it better, but I still get some wobble. If you are not using some sort of high quality, solid wood desk, expect the monitor to wobble. No DVI either (which I knew before buying, but still). Another thing I did not expect was that when your PC is turned off and the monitor is sleeping, the blue power light blinks.

Other Thoughts: As far as picture goes, I am impressed. It's more of the physical structure of the monitor that has really turned me off.

5 out of 5 eggsWoW Player Blown Away

Pros: - Unless you desk is a wobbly you have to really slam into your desk to make it wobble. The stand is beautiful and perfectly functional.
- Very bright, I had to turn it down but wow this would be great even in a bright room.
- Non-gloss screen. I really do not like all the reflections on glossy screens. This thing is amazing and everything is very sharp and clear.
- Colors are fantastic.
- The game mode setting is amazing for World of Warcraft, the only game I really play. Turning on game mode immediately makes everything in the game pop it is amazing. If I tried to explain just how amazing it is it would be a book. It was a little bit of a shock the first time I did it but once you let your eyes adjust it is unbelievable. Some kind of black magic is at work...
- Menu layout seems perfectly fine to me
- If you had not noticed it is gorgeous and amazingly enough it works as well as it looks.
- I am using the HDMI input and find it great
- My little girls think it is the best aquarium they have ever seen.

Cons: - The "touch" menu buttons are hard to identify when playing in a low light room because you can't see the words and there is not button to feel. Sometimes I have to touch all around till the menu pops up. Then the popup menu points to where all the buttons are so it is good to go then. One little bump where the main menu button would have been perfect.
- I wish the plugs did not stick straight out of the back of the monitor. If they pointed down and maybe were recessed or covered it would be ridiculously sexy from all angles, I will be getting a white 90 degree hdmi adapter and trying to figure out how to do the same for the power cable.
- Wish the power cable had a 90- degree plug end and was white to blend into the back of the monitor - seems a shame to have done so much to make it sexy and stopped short of a more aesthetic cable solution

Other Thoughts: I absolutely love this monitor, it is beautiful and extremely functional.

I do not notice any light bleed as others have mentioned. It may have been a defect or maybe I don't know what to look for. It just always looks amazing to me.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: The color quality is way beyond my expectations. I've owned numerous monitors in the past and now, but this surpasses anything in its range of quality. The brightness is also excellent.

I was worried that the white color of the monitor may be of a color that is not fitting on my desk, but I was really surprised by its look. It gives a clean and fresh feel to the desk and I absolutely love it. The thin bezel is excellent too.

I also love that the menu access is just by touch. Minimal "power on" led in the bottom right that is not overpoewring like some other monitors.

The monitor is very thin as well.

Cons: It only allows one HDMI and one VGA cable connections, but I knew that before purchasing it. This might turn down some customers. As long as it has minimum of one connection, I am fine.

If there were speakers on this monitor, it would have been awesome.

I paid 200 dollars for this monitor during sale. It was a steal. 200 dollars for this quality monitor is absolutely a steal. Some people may think that it is too expensive though, especially compared to some of those ASUS or Acer monitors going on sale right now. I guarantee you, however, that the quality of this monitor surpasses any of those.

Other Thoughts: I got this monitor along with the 29UB65, an LG ultra wide screen, for 275 dollars during the sale. Initially I was to use the ultra wide screen and give this to my sister, but the plan went backwards. I loved this monitor so much that I even gave up the quality 29UB65 monitor! I am sure that you will like it!

4 out of 5 eggsPretty solid, with a few hitches

Pros: Nice design: Pleasing to look at. I was worried that the white with teal accents was going to be distracting, but it turned out not to be.
Good color reproduction: I'm a graphic designer, and have used a number of IPS panels over the years. This is my first PLS screen, though (I hear that it's just Samsung's version of the Technology) The colors are not perfect, but there are tools to tweak them, and plenty of brightness to play with. I would not use this product if color accuracy was a must, but it should work fine for some low impact design work. I primarily use this to play games, and I must say that Dragon Age: Inquisition looks spectacular on this. Game mode does actually make a difference (in a good way) even though I usually steer clear of presets like that.

Cons: It gets you about 80% there, but is missing the overall polish of a really great product. The screen, while crisp and vibrant has some really atrocious light bleed on the corners during dark scenes. Was really noticeable while playing Alien: Isolation. Viewing angles also seemed limited during darker scenes. Menus are a pain to navigate. Only two inputs. I guess you do get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: This was a pretty inexpensive screen when I bought it, and I have owned a few other Samsung screens in the past. Overall, I am pretty pleased with the monitor (I can't go back to gaming on anything less than 27" now :) ) but there are some definite deficiencies with this product. If I was going to use this screen to watch movies, I would probably be disappointed, but for some light design work and video games, it should work out just fine.
