4 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitors

Pros: Running a dual setup and these things are huge. You really can't beat the quality for the price. Picture is outstanding. Zero dead pixels.

Cons: Horrible stand, just terrible. Wobbles constantly at just the slightest touch of my desk. Could be because they are so big I'm just noticing it more than my previous Samsung's 22" and 24"

Other Thoughts: Great monitors at a great price mounted on a terrible stand. They need some major improvements or better yet just add a VESA mount. Currently debating trying to place shims on either side of the stand neck to try to stabilize.

4 out of 5 eggsbest bang for your buck

Pros: This is a lot of monitor for $230 straight up, without the rebate mess. Text is sharp. Colors are excellent. No dead pixels. It's a matte screen. The description is confusing. When it says high gloss, it's referring to the base and bezel.

Cons: -only 1080p, but you know this going in
-only 60hz, but you know this too
-no speakers
-the glossy parts attract dust, fingerprints, and scratches easily
-touch buttons aren't the greatest
-unsure of what the input lag is (not Samsung's fault, just wish it was a more reported spec)

Other Thoughts: 1080p gaming at 60fps is the sweet spot for budget / casual gamers right now. I wanted a gaming monitor and was deciding between this and the Asus VX279Q and Asus MX279H.

The MX279H has been rated as having low input lag. I'm guessing the VX279Q uses the same panel so it should have low lag as well.

There are no professional reviews of this Samsung S27D390H for input lag yet since it was just released. I took a chance anyway since this was $50-$80 cheaper at the time. If the Asus models are cheaper, buy those instead if you care about gaming and low input lag.

If it turns out that this Samsung does have low input lag, similar to the Asus models, and is still cheaper, this is a 5 egg, no brainer! As Jim Cramer would say, "Buy, Buy, Buy!"

4 out of 5 eggsGreat buy

Pros: I bought this monitor with no reviews which I rarely do but I'm so glad I did. This monitor picture looks fantastic when playing games and watching movies. I haven't put it in game mode since I feel there's no need too.

Cons: The reason why I didn't give this monitor five stars is because the buttons on the monitor are horrible. Touch buttons are hard to work with. You press it once and the response time is so slow and it hard to see which button you are pressing. I would've liked to have physical button or the buttons to light up when you touched it

Other Thoughts: Overall this monitor is great

5 out of 5 eggsPLS is awesome!

Pros: -Fantastic view angles, really impressed by the PLS/IPS display.
-Color Out of the box is stunning, and didn't warrant me messing calibrating the colors.
-Butter smooth and I didn't detect the slightest bit of ghosting.
-Virtually Zero Black light bleeding, only saw a tiny tiny bit bottom center, but its barely noticeable and I had to max brightness to even notice it.
-No Dead/stuck Pixels Woot!

Cons: The only real con here is the pixel density, but thats a con that you should be aware of going in to buy a 27" 1080p monitor, yes the pixels are bigger, however everything is perfectly legible and readable with cleartype fonts.

Other Thoughts: I was realllllyyy worried about pixel density of this display when I ordered it, to the point of almost yhinking I should to deny the shipment from UPS while I was waiting for it and get a 23.6" instead. However I'm glad I didn't! (and at the end of the day your really only dropping 10 ppi to go with a 27 versus a 24)! This monitor is fantastic, and with a viewing distance of 2.5-3 feet everything looks really good (so just make sure you have a large desk). And the size? I could even see this being a great little stand in TV in my guest room/computer room, 27" is really huge for a monitor!

Only minor adjustment I had to do was to lower the brightness from 100% to about 50% because its just wayyyy too bright at first. But almost every monitor is setup like that, and my eyes are a bit more sensitive light than the average person.

Also Just to disclose, this review is coming from someone with 20/20 vision.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor!

Pros: I must say I was hesitant on buying this monitor since there were no reviews on here, but I'm glad I did! For a relatively inexpensive 27" monitor I couldn't ask for a better look! HDMI input is a plus and so far I have no complaints - no dead pixels or anything! Samsung usually doesn't disappoint with their monitors and this is another perfect example of that!

Cons: None really, I mean it didn't come with an HDMI cable (but I mean what equipment comes ready with HDMI cables? None that I've purchased at least, so not worth removing an egg for that)

Other Thoughts: Newegg, as always, doesn't disappoint on their shipping services. Ordered this on a Thursday morning EST and got it the next day. Will always shop at Newegg for my electronic needs!
