Pros: This is an excellent quality monitor, and it's built like a tank. The base is very sturdy and heavy, unlike some monitors. The monitor body itself is also quite sturdy and solid. There is nothing "cheap" and shoddy about this thing. The picture quality is unbelievably good for any price. I formerly owned only Viewsonic monitors, but their quality has slipped terribly in the last few years. This is my first NEC, and I'm a customer for life now. I can't recommend this monitor highly enough. One thing that I find to be a tremendous benefit is that the monitor adjusts in myriad ways, including height and tilt, and the entire screen actually rotates 90 degrees! Also, the biggest plus for me is that the monitor is a 16:10 ratio instead of the annoying 16:9 widescreen. This monitor's native resolution is 1680 x 1050. If you're looking for an excellent 16:10 LCD monitor which doesn't have the annoying washed out brightness of an LED monitor, buy this thing. You'll be very happy with it.

Cons: None come to mind.

Other Thoughts: There was only one stuck pixel when I first turned on the monitor, but that happens, and it has nothing to do with the quality. The stuck pixel was at the very bottom edge of the screen, and it was easily fixed by applying gentle pressure several times with the rounded edge of a ball point pen cap. It hasn't occurred again. Actually, I blame UPS more for that problem, since, once again, UPS made receiving a package an absolute nightmare, as they usually do. After a week of UPS slamming the monitor package around, and refusing to deliver it to me (!), I'm surprised the thing worked at all. I really wish Newegg would stop using UPS for shipping. However, again, that has nothing to do specifically with Newegg or the monitor itself.

Pros: I bought this monitor to do a lot of vertical type work and reading on and as an addition to a Samsung 19" LCD monitor. Base and stand are sturdy and the ability to tilt, pivot, and swivel are as advertised. Resolution on the monitor is nice and the colors are pretty good.

Cons: The main complaint I have is the colors on the monitor. Compared to my older monitor and the monitor on my laptop, there is a weird "dullness" to it. I've adjusted everything and spent quite a bit of time perfecting the "match" to my Samsung. It's almost 85% perfect, but some colors will still be off. Lastly, the control panel for the monitor is unwieldy and difficult to use precisely.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking to do a multiple monitor set up, just follow everyone's advice and order the same monitor. As an addition, this monitor is nearly perfect and functions exactly as I hoped.

Pros: Good monitor for DVI inputs ONLY!!! Nice stand. New Egg shipping.

Cons: Bought this to use as a secondary monitor on a laptop with the exact same resolution as this monitor. Laptop only has VGA output and this monitor has VGA input; so far so good. When connected through VGA monitor WILL NOT SYNC with video signal from laptop; result wasted $200.00!!!!!!

Other Thoughts: Guess I'll put thuis on my son's computer to replace his HP display which has both DVI and VGA input which WILL SYNC with the laptop and suffer the lower resolution-BUMMER! My son will like it for the increased resolution; BUMMER fo me yet good for him.

Pros: Swivel, pivot, tilt, up/down...can there be any more??? I bought 5 of these for a multi-monitor setup. Heavy base. Very solid feeling.

Saved me the price of getting an expensive monitor stand and the mfg stand will adjust every way you can imagine.

Clarity is great, brightness too. Eco modes to save energy.

No regrets, ROCK solid.

Cons: 1680x1050 vs 1920x1080, but that is not much of a biggie.

Pros: -swivel, pivot, tilt, AND height adjustment!?
-great build quality, feels rock solid
-lots of energy saving features (not that i care but it's great to have)
-vibrant colors
-very bright, make sure you lower it so your eyes don't bleed!
-not 16:9 ratio
-NOT GLOSSY!!!

Cons: -button for browsing the menu is a bit weird, annoying at first but not that big of a deal once you get used to it

Other Thoughts: I got this monitor because the quality of the big name competitors have gone down A LOT over the years.
I mainly use this just for SC2 and watching movies. I'm pretty amazed that you can adjust the height, pivot, tilt and swivel, most monitors nowadays can only do one or the other. If I decide to dual screen I will be sure to come back and buy this one. I highly recommend this monitor to anyone looking for a good replacement whether it be for gaming, reading, or a cheap alternative for photoshop as opposed to the expensive IPS panels (NEC also has the best IPS monitors).

I enjoy looking at this nice monitor. It has power saving options to "reduce your carbon footprint", a navigation button as opposed to using other buttons to go UP/DOWN, LEFT/RIGHT. If you like to view a LONG web page or if you need to view tall images without zooming in, this is great because in 1050x1680 portrait mode it views long photos and a lot of web space at once.

Cons: Native color settings felt too blue, took a lot of tweaking to become close to my other, also NEC, monitor. And I still can't get the images the same. The navigation button can be an utter annoyance because when you want to go down it goes left and you go right it switches settings, etc. Unlike my other NEC monitor this one doesn't have a button to switch between display modes (standard, text, movie, etc.)

Other Thoughts: On a realistic standpoint the portrait mode is barely useful if you've been using a landscape monitor for a while and do not NEED a portrait monitor. I have two monitors set up and use this as my secondary and it's not exactly enjoyable to look all the way up above the main on the view the address bar on the second. The only negatives I can state do not degrade the daily enjoyment I get out of this monitor. 5 / 5 from me.
