The 19" NEC MultiSync EA192M, an LED-backlit, eco-conscious LCD desktop monitor, enhances your desktop computing with increased productivity, energy savings and enjoyment. Compared to previous generation NEC LCDs, this model's LED backlighting allows it to consume less power overall, radiate less heat, use less packaging, weigh less, utilize recycled plastics in its production and make it free of hazardous materials such as mercury and arsenic. These advantages, combined with wide connectivity, an ergonomic design and a high contrast ratio, make this model ideal for enterprise environments.
Very Poor Viewing Range Black is not Black
Pros: There is almost nothing good about this monitor aside from the fact that it works.
Cons: It has a very poor vertical and a limited horizontal viewing range. Anything that is dark is almost unviewable. A black screen is a very bright blueish/purple black. I am comparing this to the NEC MultiSync LCD 2470WNX which I own two of.
Other Thoughts: Might be acceptbale to somebody who is not very discerning but if having exact colors (e.g. web development/design) or if you plan on viewing it regularly it in a manner that is not within it's normal limiting range then i recommend passing.

Pros: Environmentally friendly. Stand works very nicely, including pivot (many monitors don't have a pivot mode). Controls are easy to use, especially with the NaViSet software.
Cons: Screen brightness isn't uniform, and brightness and color vary greatly depending on viewing angle (even at +/- 20 degrees). I contacted NEC tech support about this and was told that this was normal for this TN panel technology. To get better uniformity, I would have to get a more expensive monitor with PVA panel technology. However, this monitor isn't as good as a Samsung and a Dell that I have with TN panel technology.
Other Thoughts: I returned the monitor. It wasn't acceptable for the photography work I do.

Pros: HDCP compliant LED backlit LCD monitor, 1280 x 1024 which is perfect for vertically stacking documents - keeping one visible while working on another. I don't have the monitor speakers connected so I cannot comment on the sound quality. Setup controls nicely designed - I particularly like the toggle button with 4 direction control. Uniform bright illumination, very authentic colors with sRGB color scheme. The sturdy stand enables swivel, tilt and height adjustment.
Other Thoughts: I used a wall mounted articlating arm instead of the supplied monitor stand, so I don't have any personal experience using this particular stand. That said, the stand seems very sturdy. I like this monitor, the first LED backlit monitor I've purchased, and I predict this technology will replace fluorescent backlighting.
