The NEC V260 is designed to provide higher brightness for meeting and conference rooms that have heavy ambient light but require a small projector. These lightweight mobile models are 3D Ready and include a 7W speaker, closed captioning and NEC’s Virtual Remote control software. Their VIDI technology, a Philips innovation designed to work in conjunction with the color wheel, uses a brilliant pulse to increase the brightness of the image and a dark pulse to increase the contrast ratio.

BrilliantColor BrilliantColor, including a 6-segment color wheel, provides accurate color reproduction. Advanced video processing from Texas Instruments delivers exceptional picture management control for both progressive and interlaced sources, while making images more vibrant, colors more realistic and blacks richer with detail.
3D Ready When combined with active shutter glasses (NP01GL), this projector uses DLP Link technology, developed by Texas Instruments, to create 3D images.
Eco mode ECO mode extends lamp life up to 5000 hours, lowers audible noise and reduces total cost of ownership. Carbon savings meter calculates the positive effects of operating the projector in ECO Mode, which is encouraged by an optional message at startup. A green ECO Mode button on the remote control makes the switch easy. You can power on the projector as soon as it is plugged into a power outlet. Startup within 3 to 4 seconds and immediate power off with no cooling required after shutdown ensure efficient energy usage.
AutoSense AutoSense intuitively syncs with most computer signals and features one-touch image optimization.
Built-in closed captioning and wall color correction Built-in closed captioning enables decoding and display of text information from a video while Wall Color Correction allows for adaptive color tone correction to display properly on non-white surfaces.

Good bright light quality and nice image quality. Been using it for projection mapping and watching movies. Can scale up from native resolution well without looking like doo-doo; for instance I use it to mirror my Macbook Pro 15" at 1440x900. Sturdy too, brought it on tour with us to Europe packed in a carry-on. Held up through a 2 month trip! Like most modern projectors it also has a composite and S-video input. Cons: No DVI, HDMI, or component video. Replacement lamp is half the cost of the projector. Other Thoughts: Only wish I would have bought two of them when they were on sale. It's fast and easy to set up. Focus, zoom, and keystone controls are especially easy, and it even has a rear levelng foot in case the surface it's sitting on isn't quite level. It is a little bulky, but is a great value at this price point. It even has a built-in speaker that's much louder than laptop speakers.
