The NEC V260X is designed to provide higher brightness for meeting and conference rooms that have heavy ambient light but require a small projector. These lightweight mobile models are 3D Ready and include a 7W speaker, closed captioning and NEC’s Virtual Remote control software. Their VIDI technology, a Philips innovation designed to work in conjunction with the color wheel, uses a brilliant pulse to increase the brightness of the image and a dark pulse to increase the contrast ratio. Enhanced connectivity, including HDMI, dual computer inputs and RJ45, are clearly color-coded and labeled on the panel.

  • newegg Brilliant Color Technology and 3D Ready BrilliantColor, including a 6-segment color wheel, provides accurate color reproduction. Advanced video processing from Texas Instruments delivers exceptional picture management control for both progressive and interlaced sources, while making images more vibrant, colors more realistic and blacks richer with detail. Combined with active shutter glasses (NP01GL), The NEC V260X uses DLP Link technology, developed by Texas Instruments, to create 3D images.
  • newegg Eco Mode With ECO mode, the NEC V260X’s extended lamp increases lamp life up to 5000 hours, lowers audible noise and reduces total cost of ownership. Carbon savings meter calculates the positive effects of operating the projector in ECO Mode, which is encouraged by an optional message at startup. A green ECO Mode button on the remote control makes the switch easy. You can power on the projector as soon as it is plugged into a power outlet. Startup within 3 to 4 seconds and immediate power off with no cooling required after shutdown ensure efficient energy usage.
  • newegg Crestron Roomview Crestron roomview provides unified management, including the ability to switch the power on and off for multiple projectors connected to a network.
  • newegg AutoSense AutoSense intuitively syncs with most computer signals and features one-touch image optimization.
  • newegg Built-in Closed Captioning The built-in closed captioning enables decoding and display of text information from a video.
  • newegg Dual Computer Inputs The dual computer inputs ensure quick switching between presentations.

5 out of 5 eggsA whole lot of value

Pros: I bought this to finally take a go at projectors. I've sold tvs for years and been into video formats since forever LD Blu ray hd dvd dvd beta etc.. So i'd use a projector once before and it was lovely the issue was its cost was a ton. This was finally a chance to take a stab at something at a reasonable price. I'll try to make a simple list.

* High enough resolution(1024x768) with support to handle resolutions that arent native very well. HD content like blu rays and any 1080p/720p content looks crystal clear and sharp.

* HDMI port.

* 2 VGA ports so a pc and a gaming system like a 360 can be hooked up.

* Svideo is becoming harder and harder to find on tvs however its pretty much the absolute best quality you'll find for old analog things like Laserdisc players or old video game consoles.

* Has plenty of image cleaning filters that are highly adjustable.

Cons: No component port. This can become a issue with certain devices that you'd normally use in HD via component.

Not enough ports. Since there is no component and only 1 port you're gonna be either switching cord a lot for you HD devices. If you're hooking a blu ray player and want a Xbox 360 hooked up. Hook the 360 up via the VGA adapter to save a slot.

*Like any low end projector its pretty much useless if there is any presents of light at all. This must be used as it was designed for. If you need something that works in high light you're gonna pay high dollars.

* The speakers are useless. You'll instantly use a receive or run decent speakers to analog or digital out for audio. I bought a $100 pc pair of logitech speakers and couldnt be happier.

Other Thoughts: For its money its simply great. Know what you're buying and know how you need to use it. It has cons but to me they didnt matter as they where no factors. If you've got a lot of analog devices (RED YELLOW WHITE Composite) this isnt great. Know how to hook up your devices and how they can out.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy Must have

Pros: i bought this thinking oh my goodness what have i done, but, im really surprised how great it works the colors are VIBRANT even in a moderately lit room, the internal speaker sounds okay for its size like when your outside or in a small room close to the projector, the only thing i found bothersome is there is no dust filter, so pethair gets sucked in past the lamp and gets traped, also it seems as if you did accidently drop it the cabinet would crack really easily, but other than that it was worth the money tho i paid less that 500$, but i think if you really need a mobile projector this is right for the average-joe-sumer, AND this is neat it supports up to 1920x1080, tho you dont get the full size of the projected image, i find a comfortable resolution is around 1280x1024, and 1600x1200, the use the whole projected space,

Cons: there is no dust filter will need to make one for the device

Other Thoughts: i think nec couldove made some improvements on the packaging, instead of the seemingly generic "PROJECTOR" written on the side they could detail it some more,

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Projector

Pros: Just got this projector yesterday to replace the television in my apartment. Being mounted on the wall about 9.5 ft it casts an great picture around 88 inches (Corner to corner).

Looks fantastic, but reviewing a bit premature at the moment. Very light, even with all the lights on in my living room, dining room, and kitchen, the color has very little washout and can watch with ease, clarity and beautiful colors.

Eco mode changes almost nothing in terms of brightness which is fantastic.

HDMI, RCA, 2 computer hookups, S-Video, Audio IN and OUT. Everything you need.

Contrast - I figured the contrast would show the blacks being more of a grey color during dark scenes, although this projector pulls off a very nice contrast with the high brightness. I'm not sure how, though it looks fantastic for sure.

Will keep you updated as time progresses.
Highly recommended!

Cons: Zoom is limited, though that is fairly common.
