The P241W-BK-SV is a 24” widescreen monitor that is ideal for web graphics and photography applications. This model utilizes an e-IPS panel for great imaging performance. Offering 96.7% coverage of sRGB color gamut and 71.4% of NTSC, the P241W-BK-SV provides professional-grade benefits, such as an internal 14-bit 3D programmable lookup tables (LUTs), DisplayPort connectivity and built-in USB hub, at a budget-friendly price. It includes the award-winning SpectraViewII calibration software to attain unparalleled color performance.

Superior performance Best-in-class 8-bit active matrix IPS panel with 96.7% coverage of AdobeRGB color space and 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angle, complete with 1,000:1 contrast ratio, 1920 x 1200 native resolution, 360 cd/m2 brightness, the NEC P241W-BK-SV delivers super sharp images and incredibly bright, life-like pictures. Partnered with 8ms fast response time, motion images are clearer and more precise without blur, judder or ghosting.
14-bit 3D LUTs Internal 14-bit programmable 3D lookup tables (LUTs) allow the display of 1.07 billion colors out of a palette of 4.3 trillion (with 10-bit DisplayPort input) for accurate color, smooth images and hardware calibration.
AmbiBright AmbiBright ambient light sensor automatically adjusts the backlight depending on the brightness of ambient lighting conditions. It also tells the monitor to enter power saving mode whenever the ambient lighting falls below a predetermined value (like when lights are shut off at the end of the day), which can significantly reduce energy consumption.
Ambix & USB Hub Ambix allows up to two inputs (VGA and DVI-I) to be connected to a single monitor and for each of the three signals to be displayed with the press of a button. Built-in USB hub with DisplaySync Pro controls two computers with only one keyboard and mouse.
Digital Uniformity Compensation Reduces screen uniformity errors and compensates for differences in color/grayscale and luminance using new signal processing circuitry.

There are some VERY detailed reviews at TFT Central that discuss both of these monitors and I couldn't decide which one I wanted more so I ordered both. The NEC is a little bit more stable than the Dell, and the NEC offers a color calibration device. Because I am not super concerned with color accuracy I opted for the cheaper Dell. Pros: Beautiful monitor, solid construction, color calibration.

Cons: Expensive, heavy, somewhat poor aesthetics.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this monitor and the Dell U2412M at the same time. Both monitors are incredible, but the Dell is 1/3rd the price. There are some VERY detailed reviews at TFT Central that discuss both of these monitors and I couldn't decide which one I wanted more so I ordered both.

The NEC is a little bit more stable than the Dell, and the NEC offers a color calibration device. Because I am not super concerned with color accuracy I opted for the cheaper Dell.
