Jeff Z 9/27/2012 10:52:56 AM Tech Level: 4/5 Ownership: 2/5 Verified Owner	Rating: 5/5High quality monitor Pros: Great display Solid build materials Pivots into portrait view Includes DVI-D cable and USB cable PVA panel is great for reading text Cons: Displayport cable not included VA panels, while EXCELLENT for text, tend to have a slow response time, so this isn't a great monitor for action movies or gaming. For anyone else, the response time is a non-issue; you'll never notice it. Other Thoughts:* I had a display issue connecting it to my Mac Mini (mid-2011) and I'll share the fix. The Mini comes with an HDMI to DVI adapter, so initially I connected the monitor to the Mini via the adapter and the included DVI cable. The issue: about a 1/4" to 1/2" black band around the screen (the entire image was shrunk to about 22" instead of the full 23" screen). There was no problem if I selected "Analog" from the DVI selection menu and restarted the Mini, but why would I want such a great monitor only to have the equivalent of a VGA signal coming to it? NEC customer service is great. They speak english as their first language (that's a huge plus) and they get on the phone right away, no long waits for the next available technician. Long story short (too late), the fix to get a full digital signal from the Mini to the monitor is to use the thunderbolt (mini Displayport) to Displayport cable. Cons: May not be the best choice for FPS games. Other Thoughts: I bought this monitor for a guest bedroom, but I actually like it better than my IPS displays that cost over 2X.
