2 out of 5 eggsVery very disappointed.

Pros: It's big. 1920 x 1200 is nice.

Cons: Don't be fooled by a low price tag, this thing is CHEAP in the worst sense of the word. It's not IPS. Viewing angles STINK and this thing color shifts.

NEC usually has top-of-the-line stuff, but this one misses the boat.

Other Thoughts: For the same money, you can get a different branch with much better specs.

5 out of 5 eggsNo DEAD PIXELS

Pros: Good price for a GOOD 24" 1920 x 1200 TN panel. This is NOT a Professional IPS true color monitor. I use this for gaming 90% of the time and we watch DVD and Blu Rays 5% and I do normal stuff the other 5%. DVD/BR video is excellent with a monitor menu tweak. I need 1920 x 1200 for gaming because my first NEC is 1920 x 1200 and the only other panel that I considered was the $am$ung which make great panels but I've had a few dead pixels with the 2 $am$ungs that I've owned and with the 2 NEC 24" monitors that I've had I have had NO DEAD PIXELS. SOLD! This is the 2nd monitor of a 3 monitor Nvidia Surround View setup. I'm buying a 3rd NEC 24" 1920 x 1200 as soon as my credit card drops a littlle. THREE SCREEN GAMING...w00T!

Cons: The color on this monitor will NOT match an older flourescent back lit monitor very well. I wish all monitors were $1.00...with free shipping.

Other Thoughts: Q6600 @ 3.0, 8 Gig OCZ SLi RAM, 1,000 watt OCZ Gold Series PSU, 2-GTX 580 (in and out of SLi), Win 7, Win 8 Cust Preview, Ubuntu 12.04 triple boot, 2,260,000 pts. folding@home.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat office productivity monitors

Pros: Relatively high resolution, nice large size for a desktop monitor. Relatively narrow bezel around edge. 4 USB ports. Touch sensitive controls that are located on front of bezel (not on the side). "Human Sensor" motion / presence detection allows for great power savings (can turn off 60 seconds after you walk away from the desk) while LED back lighting allows for rapid display from sleep.

Cons: Minor con is that I have two of them side-by-side, and it is nearly impossible to manually adjust them so that they look the same in terms of brightness, color, etc. Even if the settings are set identically, the displays are slightly different.

They are close enough for my purposes, but you can tell that the colors aren't quite the same.

Other Thoughts: Fantastic monitors--exactly what I was looking for, and the highest resolution for the size. Excellent for office productivity tasks: Browsing, email, software development, and watching streamed video.

These are not intended for serious photo or video work. These are budget office productivity monitors, not pro displays. Do not expect a ~$400 monitor to be a great photo monitor.

I mounted two of these on desktop monitor arm mounts, so I can't comment on the included monitor stands.

5 out of 5 eggsMonitor, Gaming

Pros: See prior post.

Cons: See prior post.

Other Thoughts: HueyPro color calibration: Really fine grained shades of grey. Much more than a cold cathode. LED is a good tech.

1 out of 5 eggsNO VGA text - XP & Linux problems

Pros: - No bad pixels.

- Lots of features, plus sRBG color.

Cons: - The 24" 1920x1200 resolution model does not support 720x400 VGA text mode. This mode is required for Linux boot, XP setup CD, "F8 to enter Safe Mode", recovery console, and stand-alone restore utilities.

- Human Sensor is nice, but flaky when you get 2+ feet from the monitor. Leaning back (it's a big screen!) wouldn't enter save mode, though setup said it knew where I was and that I was far enough away to trigger.

- Slight brightness gradient, darker on the RHS.

Other Thoughts: 80 degree right-left viewing angle is fine for horizontal screen. But if you rotate the screen to portrait, it becomes the UP-down angle and is too small for the tall screen.

Apparently, to add 1920x1200, they had to drop one resolution, and they picked the wrong one! For the price, they shouldn't have dropped any.

The setup "Input Resolution Mode" is a misnomer. It actually tells the monitor what sync polarity the graphics card will use to indicate hi-res mode.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Great Monitor

Pros: I I'm very happy to say that I'm glad that I purchased this monitor. For a 24" monitor this thing comes fully loaded with the input slots, and the fact that its 1920x1200 is very great. I really recommend that anybody looking for a 24" monitor with all the trimmings this is it. Its really also great on the eyes, so no eye strain at all thanks to the LED support. Gaming is also great on this monitor as well. Thank You NEC/ New Egg for this monitor.

Cons: None that I can see.

Other Thoughts: This monitor is very good at pivoting and height adjusting, so those of you that like those two things I recommend this monitor. It also came shipped already put together, and the price was very great. Once again Thank You NEC and New Egg.

5 out of 5 eggsMonitor, Gaming

Pros: Meets or exceeds required specifications: <6ms, 1920 x 1200, LED, 24"

Cons: does not have a built-in card reader. Not a deal breaker but the Dell had one.

Other Thoughts: I bought the 'NEC EA243WM-BK' to replace a 'DELL UltraSharp 2407WFP' (circa Feb, 2007) for gaming. I'm a BF3 Colonel serv-star 10. I wanted specs that met or exceeded the Dell.

Out of box: 2012 03 16 0852A
Setup on 'Garage Test'. Dead pixel test (DPT). Passed. set brightness to 50% from 80%. Moved to RaptorGamer, Done, will do color later. I'll edit this over time, ~ month. So far I'm pleased.
