2 out of 5 eggsLess than 3 years

Pros: Nice color and sharpness

Cons: It was on a lot, but lasted less than 3 years. The other matching one I bought elsewhere lasted about 26 months. Replaced with Viewsonic, which I hope goes more than 36 months.

1 out of 5 eggsDied 5 minutes ago

Pros: Worked very well for 3 years and 5 months.

Cons: The LG monitor just died 5 minutes ago. It worked well during the 3 year warranty period. Continued on for another 5 months and then died. I will never buy another product from LG.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing to say the least.

Pros: Awesome blacks, Vibrant whites and no bleed through along the edges. Has a nice glossy look to make the colors really pop. Haven't seen any noticeable banding on the gradients. This is one of the best monitors I have ever owned. Used to use the HPw2207 and I would take this LG over that any day! Comes with a little swivel stand which is also a nice feature of you spin your monitor around a lot.

Cons: I havn't had any as of yet. Quite satisfied with this product.

5 out of 5 eggsUnbeatable Value

Pros: The packaging it came with was nice and snug, no dead/stuck pixels or discoloration. I've tested pretty much every color that you would normally encounter in regular use or as close to regular as you would expect from someone that watches tons of pure HD videos. Gaming response time is excellent. Required very little calibration to get to the appropriate settings, even considering my settings were butchered due to the last monitor I had.
It detected right away what the monitor was even prior to installing the drivers, and adjusts it's settings accordingly upon start up which truly did minimize the effort to calibrate it which is something that should be respectively noted since most of these such systems end up sucking or making it worse.
The power button's light is able to be turned off with about 30 seconds of navigation through the monitor's controls. No more atrocious blue led power button while watching movies in the dark or post-it note to cover it!

Cons: Came with a VGA, but a quick trip down to the local store and about 15-20 bucks will fix that for most (DVI-D fwiw which also means that you get the awesomeness of HDCP programing namely linking devices to be commanded by one device and the digital encoding abilities assuming they were done properly, and unfortunately also the not so awesomeness of the garbage programing that comes in the form of most HDCP programing or the utter fail that they call HDCP programming).
The stand has a gimpy swivel/Lazy Susan on the bottom that I couldn't care less about even if I tried. The screen has a really strong glossy coating on it, so plan accordingly in respect to windows and glare.

Other Thoughts: This is a monitor, namely with fast response time and being oriented for multi-purpose including fast paced gaming. It is nothing but pure win on every aspect in respect for what it was designed to do and it gives respectable rivalry to CRTs for FPS game response times.
It's by no means so accurate that it would make a colorimeter cry in envy, but neither is your eye's capacity which negates the entire point of that argument. If you want a conversational piece monitor that can fart every color wavelength in the complete color spectrum, look at a 1k$+ NEC bundled with a professional calibrator or the likes.

If you want a monitor that delivers exactly what it is designed to, gives one of the best if not the best refresh rate among LCDs and delivers with beyond expectations performance at a very good price, this is the monitor you're looking for.

5 out of 5 eggsPERFECT

Pros: Beautiful monitor. I have it hooked to a mac mini via DVI and after a month + I cannot get over how great the picture is.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: If your debating buying this monitor you will NOT be disappointed.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome LG warranty replacement

Pros: Really clear text and graphics even with VGA connection. The LCD has a piano black finish and it is beautiful.

Cons: Some glare in room with sun, but even with the glare everything is still legible.

Other Thoughts: My original LG L222WT LCD died after 18 months into the standard LG LCD 3-year warranty. I called customer support and they said they would replace it with a refurbished like model unit or better...I got this better model and it is much much better. I received a free FedEx return shipping via email and the LCD arrived in 4 days. I packed the old monitor in the shipping box and took it to FedEx/Kinko. The ease of the LG warranty return process was a true delight!!! You can feel secure with the LG 3-year warranty, whereas most other makers are only 1 year.

I also own the LG W2353V and it was purchased from Newegg. Very fast shipping from Newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsWow

Pros: Looks incredible, 2ms response time, beautiful colors, sleek, black design and easily navigable menus.

Cons: I'm not sure if this is a problem with my graphics card or if it is some type of auto-configuration to compensate for really dark areas in games, but the monitor gets brighter or dimmer, and flickers occasionally (all in a game)

Other Thoughts: Still an excellent buy. L227WTG is pretty close to L337WTF. Which I take as a sign this monitor is ridiculous.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great for me

Pros: Very bright and crisp, high resolution, wide screen.

Cons: I'm not wild about the high-gloss finish on the bezel and on the screen itself. I think this tend to cause more glare and reflections than I would like.

Other Thoughts: Newegg delivered quickly and absolutely NO DEAD PIXELS (so far). This monitor is replacing an older, smaller LG flat panel that went bad after 4 years or so.

I am using this monitor on ubuntu for daily work and for watching movies. I had to load the proprietary drivers from nvidia to get the resolution up to 1680x1050 where it needs to be. The non-proprietary ubuntu drivers would not go that high.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor

Pros: Works great! No dead pixels, nice resolution, an excellent monitor.

Cons: As others have mentioned, a little light leaks through the top and bottom but it isn't very noticeable, even when on a black screen. The screen itself is also can get some pretty strong glare, but the right setup should be able to avoid that.

Other Thoughts: The blue LED power button matches the lights on my computer case... an unexpected plus!
