There must be a minimum of 8 dead pixels to declare an LCD display defective and eligible for return.
View your video games, digital movies and images in a whole new way with this LG 21.5-inch LCD monitor!
Movie enthusiasts will love the widescreen display since most films are presented in a similar aspect ratio. With this LG monitor, there's no need to sacrifice visual real estate for black bars! Video gamers will also love the widescreen layout for increased field of view during intense first person shooters. Finally, the wider view helps increase productivity when you can open documents side by side for comparisons.
Whatever you view will look fantastic, thanks to the 30000:1 contrast ratio and over 16 million display colors. When you upgrade to an LG monitor, it's like viewing your computer screen with a new set of eyes.
Pros: High native resolution - very sharp picture. Has menu option for 4:3 ration for older games and such that don't work well under 16:9
Cons: I purchased two of these for a dual-monitor setup. One of the two had about 100 "dancing red pixels" that would randomly appear at various places on the screen.
Returned that one for a replacement. The picture is good on the replacement. HOWEVER, the button to select the onscreen menu options does not work - doesn't click when pushed - doesn't do anything - so no way to get into the menus.
So, out of 3 brand new ones - 2 (66%) were defective. Will probably return both and look for something with a better history and reviews.
Other Thoughts: LG didn't even include a DVI cable. Who buys a 22" wide-screen digital monitor to use with analog input?

Good screen with a few small annoyances

Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: -Great size -No unnecessary built-in speakers -Looks sharp (1080p, so what did I expect?) -No dead/stuck pixels that I've seen.
Cons: -No DVI cable -Don't like that wave-shaped power button. It goes well with the design, but the red light seems a little tacky. It also sometimes doen't respond well if you hit it slightly off-center. Would have preferred a solid round button. -Pretty useless "fun" button. It can set the aspect ratio (which would have been fine in the regular menu), and do some "photo effects."
Other Thoughts: Good screen overall, I'm happy with it. No HDMI but doesn't really need it. No major cons as far as picture quality go, and that's what I bought it for afterall.

Pros: 1) It's beautiful and ironically almost matches my 37 inch widescreen TV. 2) User interface on the monitor itself. 3) Real estate usage is exceptional. 4) PLUG AND PLAY without the need to install drivers. 5) Nice packaging. They show they care... 6) The resolution is outstanding. 7) The clarity is great! 8) Price!
Cons: Doesn't come with a VGA - DVI adapter, not that I would have expected it to.
Other Thoughts: Havent tested it on Mac OSX yet but hope it works just the same. Would recommend this to anyone. I bought it to work on other peoples desktops when they drop it off for repair. Perfect choice.

Pros: Simple, no fuss setup. Control method A LOT more intuitive than my previous asus 19; actually a breeze. The 21.5" 1080P is a sweet spot, W/R to resolution, and desktop real estate. My 19 asus widescreen worked quite well as an ota HD telly, but it did not quite pass muster as a day-to-day monitor. The VGA looks great, which is quite a feat. up to now my eyes had rebelled at the roughness of VGA. no suggestion of funny pixels!!! No wall brick required! very straightforward shiny-black bezel; didn't even notice it after 5 min. Nice and light-weight. Either a better video card or my win-7 rig using DVI should get higher resolution, and I'll be happy to see what an upconverting DVD looks like on HDMI Now running 1600X900 VGA but it looks GOOOD.
Cons: This has no audio, so the desk clutter will rise. (I use the computer as a telephone) 2-dvi+D-sub, and a Vesa mount is my ideal combo, but this is verrrrry inexpensive in exchange for those being missing. Can't figure out what "fun" (on controls) is
Other Thoughts: Great-looking stand obtained from an old hard-plastic wastebasket, cut down to 2.5-3" tall. Do it *carefully* on a table saw. (Set blade lower than the actual cut for safety.) use a (borrowed?) router to cut a piece of 3/4 MDF to just the right diameter to slip in, set in with urethane glue or urethane setting caulk, finish with bondo & a good deal of sanding, plus a can of spray paint.
