2 out of 5 eggsgood monitor with quirks

Pros: good color and refresh rate, i liked the price

Cons: The monitor "flickers" I tried to RMA and call tech support when i noticed it happening and this is not considered a "problem".

The screen will shake occasionally sometimes worse than others. There is no reason pattern. Happens in videos, games and just sitting on the desktop. I have switched video cards, tried DVI, HDMI and VGA all with the same result. I think this is my first bad LG product.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent TN panel

Pros: Fast response time
Beautiful display for a TN Panel

Cons: Flimsy stand
Does not come with speakers (I don't like monitor speakers anyways)

Other Thoughts: I can speak very highly of this monitor. I have had this monitor for over four years now and it still looks brand new. No stuck or dead pixels. Color configuration is acceptable and no ghosting. Great monitor for everyday use.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor

Pros: 1080p, widescreen, HDMI port, had everything I really wanted

Cons: no speakers, but there is a volume option in the menus?

Other Thoughts: Got this mostly as a monitor I could play my Xbox on. After I started using it, I noticed that my Xbox-VGA cable actually produced a double image. Luckily, I was able to go buy a $5 HDMI cable and continue playing.
After about a year of usage, it still works great. I don't have to shut it off after powering anything down, does it on it's own (though a small red light does glow a bit, not very bright though). Definitely a good buy

4 out of 5 eggsgreat gaming/Blu-ray monitor!

Pros: -1080p
-HDMI & DVI inputs
-Great picture quality

Cons: -No optical out (which would be handy if you have a device connected to the monitor that passes audio through HDMI, luckily for me, my Xbox 360 also has an optical out, so I run an HDMI cable to the monitor and an optical cable to my receiver).
-Buttons can be annoying (press once to activate touch-sensitive buttons, press again to do the button's action, take too long and you have to press it again to reactivate the buttons)
-Connectors are designed to plug in and never be touched again (It's hard to plug and unplug cables into the monitor, without flipping the monitor over (which is hard to do with a messy desk))

Other Thoughts: This monitor has great picture quality! I play games and blu-ray movies on it all the time!

I have my computer connected to this monitor using a DVI cable, my Xbox 360 using an HDMI cable, and whatever computer I'm working on at the time (I'm a PC Tech) using the VGA input. As you can probably tell, I switch inputs quite a bit and I find the touch sensitive buttons annoying (see Cons for why)

I also hate when I'm watching a BD movie, and I pause it and switch inputs to some other computer I'm working on, when I switch the input back to my PC that the BD movie is playing on, the software crashes because it loses the HDCP connection. That could be the software's fault, not sure.

Overall, I am happy with my purchase. I do love this monitor, it has really good quality. These Cons are just nit-pick issues and while I do get frustrated with them at times, I typically look at the overall quality of the monitor and I'm still glad I bought it.

5 out of 5 eggsbeautiful

Pros: Just about everything, it looks sleek and very pretty, the red lights on the front match the rest of my system, and its a great size for gaming and watching movies without being too big to close too. Plus with the HDMI port i even hooked my playstation up to it and got a perfect picture, and blu rays rays are gorgeous! great picture, and great looking, what more could you want?

Cons: none so far. ill update if i find any.

Other Thoughts: the touch buttons(like most) don't work all that well, kind of frustrating for first time set up but since you wont need them after that it's not worth taking off an egg.

1 out of 5 eggsVery poor Quality

Pros: It didn't explode.

Cons: poor workmanship/quality. defective menu access buttons. poor documentation. just overall a very bad buy.

Other Thoughts: Very seldom do I see such a poor quality item from newegg and I've got two me/ips monitors from LG and they are very well built.

5 out of 5 eggsGamers Dream, at a Realistic Price

Pros: Full 1080p resolution and a low response time make for excellent gaming. Got it to replace an older model, touch buttons were a fun and interesting surprise. After the initial shock, the touch buttons were very easy to learn, just like PS3. Love the light sensor, like the ones on most smart-phones, it saves my eyes and power. You'll want to turn it off if your doing any photo editing or graphic design type work however, as it will throw off your colours. Also, of note is the ability to use all of the inputs on this monitor at once. I think that having the ability to switch sources on a basic monitor is unique. This ability may make for a good console (HDMI) and computer (DVI) combo.

Cons: Stand is hard to adjust (Stiff) which makes changing this monitors angle on the fly a pain. No DVI cable. Doesn't make me a sandwich.

Other Thoughts: Glow of the red power on/off light may be distracting but can be turned off in menu, so not a con. As with any glossy surface, the frame is a dust/fingerprint magnet, but it comes with a cloth, and you should be keeping it clean anyway. I hooked up my receiver to it when it got here, just to check it out on various video sources, and this beast did not disappoint. Bottom line it handled TV, 360, and PS3 feeds through HDMI and they looked and functioned great. It now is serving its intended purpose as my gaming rigs monitor, and all I can think is, "I need another one of these to put next to it." One day....

3 out of 5 eggsIt's big, it's pretty, but

Pros: * Large screen.
* Sleek design.
* Glossy black finish.
* All the inputs you could ever want or need.
* The screen tilts forward/backward.
* Low power consumption.
* It's bright with very good contrast and color control

Cons: Where to start? The screen has this anti-glare coating which looks like dust. You can't see it until windows boots, and then you can't help but 'not' see it from that point on. It makes so-called high-def look like compressed garbage.

The touch sensitive controls are HORRIBLE! There is no tactile feel, nor confirmation that a so-called button was pressed. Sure the led's light up when you touch a button, but nothing happens. So one tends to stand there looking all re-tarded just waiting for something to happen. You get tired of waiting, so you push so-called button again, and again, and again, and then FINALLY a state change occurs. This is truly pathetic! I can't believe this stuff makes it through quality control.

The base is cheap plastic basic garbage. It tilts, but it does not swivel. It feels like you'll break it off when tilting the monitor. There's just no weight, and therefor, no quality.

No HDMI or DVI cable included....

Other Thoughts: This monitor is quite less then special, I have half a mind to return it and the other half doesn't want to deal with the hassle. But both halves agree, don't purchase this monitor again!

5 out of 5 eggsLooks great! Little dusty.

Pros: Weight is lighter than I expected, looks spectacular! Very happy with this monitor.

Cons: First one was DOA - looked like a VHS with bad tracking...real bad. So I paid the $20 to ship it back to Newegg.

Glossy bevel gets a bit dusty, but I guess that's ok.

Touch buttons on the front are kind of awkward to use, but I just don't use them.
