1 out of 5 eggsVery poor black level.

Pros: Sharp picture. Multiple inputs and audio output via headphone jack.

Cons: It doesn't have the ability to display black. At best it can display a medium gray, but not black. There is no backlight control that could be used to adjust the black level.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor

Pros: Great picture, very slim and attractive. Excellent monitor for bright areas.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have owned this now for about 6 months and am looking to get another one for duel displays. I run this through duel Nvidia 260's and just looks amazing. This is back lit so you get a much better display in a bright room or setting. The slim design allows for the power source one the cord so you don't get the heat buildup around the screen, thus allowing for a longer lifespan. I have a number of different high-end monitors and this is by far my fav. If you purchase this product, you won't be dissappointsd !!!

3 out of 5 eggsIt didn't last that long.

Pros: It's a pretty slick looking monitor, has a high contrast ratio, very thin and is the entry level LED 23". Despite the color issues, the picture is otherwise gorgeous, and there is no clouding on this monitor. The auto dimmer is also a pretty neat feature and the menu system is pretty decent. It's an alright gaming monitor and I only noticed UE3 games tearing the screen without v-sync. It also has a 3 year warranty, which can be nice and increase your confidence in the product.

Cons: The headphone jack is in the rear of the monitor, I also couldn't get it to work with the HDMI audio out from my graphics card. The HDMI doesn't look that good and is kind of blurry when compared to the DVI whether it is coming from my video card or my cable box.

You will never be able to set the color just right. I'm color blind and I could still notice the color difference, I could get it to do-able but not anywhere near close enough for graphics work.

Sometimes when I move my eyes I would notice the individual pixels, I don't know a better way to describe it, but it can be mildly distracting.

And the worst, I've had mine less than a month and it just died on me. This is quite frustrating. First the monitor would quit responding in the middle of my session, usually while gaming, and I would have to reboot. Now I cant' turn it on at all.

Other Thoughts: I bought this over the Samsung PX2370 because it was $40 less, because I didn't think I would notice much of a difference or that it wouldn't be worth the extra $40. This monitor is priced perfectly against the competition, because while I second guessed my decision I was ultimately happy with my choice, until the monitor died. Now, the combination of small flaws, and the monitor dying after only a month of use has diminished my confidence in this monitor.
It's still a good monitor, but a few small changes and it would've have been great.

5 out of 5 eggsAMAZING

Pros: Not much of a monitor tech guy, but definitely can say that this screen is amazing, light, thin, amazing picture quality when playing movies...still getting used to tweaking the settings

Cons: only comes with a VGA cable...might be a little bit too bright for some people other then that not really much cons

Other Thoughts: When I first ordered the monitor...it got stolen from the front of my house, but thanks new egg for the excellent customer service and quick review of the claim, shipped me a new one w/in 2 weeks

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful Picture

Pros: DVI-D, VGA and HDMI inputs give a wide variety of choices. 1080p resolution with the HDMI makes for a great TV monitor as well. The controls are very easy to use and no buttons! Response time is the basic 5ms you see these days. I've noticed no ghosting or sluggish performance at all. The power supply is external! This is great! That means less to go wrong inside the monitor! If the power supply dies, you simply get a new one instead of sending your monitor out for repair.

Cons: Doesn't come with a DVI cable, only a VGA cable.

Other Thoughts: Just remember that you will notice subtle color differences between a LED and regular LCD monitor. LED monitors will give you a truer color instead of an "enhanced" color that regular LCD's give you. I put this monitor side by side with an Acer 22" WS LCD and the pictures were definitely different. The LG LED monitor made the pictures look real.. the color differences and shades were so much more detailed.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Display...BUT....

Pros: Extremely pleasing to the eye. RIch vivid color, as others has said, sometimes either the blue or the red can seem a little overpowering, but nothing you cannot adjust out.
I have this one next to a LG W2340V-PN in Dual Mon which brings me to the cons.....

Cons: Price. LG W2340V-PN is only 209 and is a better unit. Blacker blacks, more balanced reds and blues without tweaking.

The software that comes with all these monitors is limp at best. Don't bother installing it. Use the management software included in your nVidia or other drivers/vid card setup.

Other Thoughts: I love this monitor and would put it against any other competitor even at a higher cost. However, I love the LG W2340V-PN even more and strongly suggest it. Only worth taking one star away though and that is from being anally picky about display quality. Most of you will flat love either of these.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice

Pros: Great picture and it looks nice too

Cons: Convenience sacrificed slightly for aesthetics.

Other Thoughts: It looks vdery nice, both the picture and the physical device. I am not an expert but the colors look great to me.

I don't doubt that this monitor might make people squint. If it is too much for your eyes, turn the brightness down. It came delivered at maximum brightness; 100. I turned the brightness down then noticed I was squinting, so I kept turning the broightness down until I got to minimum brightness; 0. I am able to use it at that setting and I expect to be able to continue to use it at that setting but I wish I could set the brightness down even more.

Also, when you first get this monitor, be sure to have plenty of light in the room. The power switch is hard to find; you cannot feel it. There is nothing saying the power switch is the power switch and I could not find anything in the instructions saying where the power switch is.

5 out of 5 eggsA great LG product

Pros: I use this system for my macbook pro. The display is gorgeous and displays games and code great. I use this mostly for writing code and its helped a lot. The large contrast ratio and sharp display are great. The removal stand is great so that the monitor is at my eye level on my desktop. Also the headphone jack on the back for the HDMI audio is great too. As well as light, and thin.

Cons: Only vga cable, not a big deal for me but can be if the user doesnt have dvi or hdmi cables to spare.

Other Thoughts: I got another one for my windows desktop. Also LG support is great, they will have someone to fix it for you and often ships parts to dealers next day.

5 out of 5 eggsI Love it

Pros: EXTREMELY thin, I switched to this monitor from the a hannsg 28" and the room I have now is amazing.

PIXEL pitch, the resolution to this screen looks great on the beautiful 23" LED monitor

Colors, when you get the monitor just find a simple calibration picture and set it up accordingly, i also have mine set to the Movie preset (makes everything look very vibrant) it just blows my mind

The blacks are ok, if you turn on the movie preset they are phenomenal

Cons: More connection options maybe....
thats about it i guess
im VERY pleased with this monitor

Other Thoughts: I owned a 28" Hannsg for about a year and was tired of going into caves and dark places in games like fallout and getting the "negative" effect when there where very black blacks.

on the hannsg i had to turn the brightness in games all the way up to be able to distinguish the different black

with the this monitor i can literally turn the brightness on the games all the way down and still see the difference in blacks - simply amazing

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible backlighting diffusion

Pros: Bright and High contrast, simple interface and an ok menu system. Sharp.

Cons: Apparently LG is skimping on the diffusion plate because I swear I can see the LED's through the display. This is not a manufacturing defect, it's a design flaw.

I literally start to feel dizzy as my eyes tire from focussing on the backlight, the rendered content, and the screen surface.

Other Thoughts: I used to work in pre-press. I have handled numerous monitors on numerous platforms and have never had such a visceral response as I have to this LG.

It is extremely unfortunate that Newegg does not have any sort of short customer satisfaction consideration with regards to monitors. I have been reminded that monitors should never be purchased sight unseen.

Pros: Nice monitor, looks very nice.

Cons: DVI cable not included, no mention on box of contents

Other Thoughts: Initially color was too blue, adjusted it according to Xer0daze's review, now the color is great.

blue: 40

4 out of 5 eggsGreat product, touch system is flaky

Pros: GREAT picture, contrast is a little too high for my business (HD content) but you can always dial it down and in; i bought 2 to replace a pair of 19" 1440x900 L196WTQ widescreen (5000:1 contrast 2ms response time 16.2m colors) monitors and i love em, EXCEPT one died about 24 hours after installation; wouldnt turn on again, i believe the touch screen power system failed; power unit and HDMI out all checked out, and other (identical) monitor worked just fine. i had it replaced and the new one is perfect (so far) so no real complaints.

Cons: one died 24hrs after install; kind of a pain to get keyed in; but thats why you use CRT's for color checks. For general purpose (and by that i mean casual user or hardcore gamer alike) they are great. will never replace my 32" CRT sony monitor for serious business however.

Other Thoughts: I use these on a Hackintosh and a Windows based system, works great on twin 9800GTX+ cards or ATI 5770 cards. While LCD will NEVER replace CRT for serious applications, these are a great alternative for the average user or i would assume gamer/movie watcher etc. Aside from the 1 dead monitor, i rather like them so far. I use the 19" old school LCD's for my home quad core hackintosh now; they never quite color balanced right. these do, easily and were barely off color cals from eachother. best general purpose monitors ive had yet.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat monitor

Pros: great monitor replaces my old veiwsonic 2035vm which had nothing but problems this monitor is by far the clearest and best monitor I've owned

Cons: Did not come with an dvi Cable? Just vga, i understand not coming with the hdmi cable but not the dvi. my old cheap veiwsonic came with a vga and dvi cable when i bought it. ended up buying a cable from newegg.

the cinema mode is hard to understand how to use i've not figured it out yet.

Other Thoughts: Great for the price. I'm sorry newegg for not buying it from you but i needed one right away. Despite having to buy a dvi cable this is by far they best monitor I've ever bought and would recomend it to anyone

5 out of 5 eggsGood monitor for the price

Pros: This monitor carries some good features for the price point and is a good execution of LED-LCD technology. I haven't been able to notice any bleeding and the colors are very vibrant and bright. 1080 is gorgeous and connects to my PC via HDMI flawlessly. There is also a 3 year warranty. It seems it has an input selector, although I haven't tried using multiple inputs and switching through them. This monitor is thin!

Cons: There is nothing about this monitor which would justify removing an egg/star. One potential gripe is that this monitor doesn't have any mounting ability like VESA mounting standards.

Other Thoughts: 5ms is a mediocre response time and it would have been nice to include a TV-tuner. The stand is about on par with everything else at this price range. The buttons look nice but have no tactile feel and can be hard to find in the dark (if you're turning the monitor on).

5 out of 5 eggsGreat upgrade from my last LG monitor

Pros: This is a very nice upgrade from my last LG monitor which was a full 23" widescreen full HD LCD monitor (W2361V). I've noticed a lot of major differences in picture with both games and blu-ray movies. Colors are rich and crisp and I have not noticed any bleeding on top or bottom of the screen. The monitor was easy to put together, holds well, and the design is steady.

Cons: As of now, I do not have any cons

Other Thoughts: I run my monitor with a Sapphire Toxic Radeon HD 5850 Vapor-X (1GB DDR5) card.

4 out of 5 eggsGood, not perfect

Pros: Large, BRIGHT display. Reasonable price. Quality brand. Slim design. LED Technology for long life , good response time, and insane contrast ratio. HDMI.

Cons: Colors are off a little bit. Blue seems overpowering when using any of the presets. I've had to set color managment to 'user controlled' and lower the blue down to about 40, green at 52, red at 60. This is still not quite accurate when compared to the four other monitors I am testing against (one Viewsonic, one Acer, one Samsung, one Dell, all LCD). It is by far the brightest of all the monitors, and carries the smallest footprint, but the color seems to mimic the 'cool' color preset on my Samsung (as opposed to the 'warm' preset option, which I prefer).

Other Thoughts: Seems like good quality, and nice and bright... but it will take some time before I get used to the 'cool' color of this display. Perhaps LED displays just look a little different (?)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor at a Great Price

Pros: Very High Contrast 5,000,00:1, 1080P, 1920x1080 Native Resolution, 32 bit Coloring, LCD/LED Back-lit.

Cons: Absolutely none so far...The only thing that would have sent this monitor into the insane category would have been 3D support with 120Hz refresh rate. I was kind of shocked its max refresh rate was 60Hz, but not really a con just would have been a plus.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this monitor without knowing much about it. Usually I do a lot of homework before a purchase like this however with many of the 2009's on the way out and 2010's coming in this purchase was completely blind, so to speak. But I was not disappointed in the least and neither will you. This monitor has such deep, rich and bright colors. Blu-Rays look awesome. This monitor is so good I am think about getting another.
The contrast is very high, although, i do think they are stretching it a bit with the manufactures claim of 5,000,000:1 ratio.
