5 out of 5 eggsWorth It

Pros: The output is beautiful, bright, clear, crisp & great black levels. Backlight bleeding is average and very acceptable (minimal at the top/bottom/sides). Backlight bleeding is simply a fact of LCD at the mid price level. I cannot speak for the $1200+ monitors. LG is the only LCD maker that I can be happy with the black levels. I have tried another top name brand and felt very gray. But not with LG.

The shear size difference between this and my old 22" is a bit overwhelming at first when gaming. There is so much more screen/information for your eyes to take in. It took me almost a week to adjust the distance from me & height to get comfortable. When gaming, it is like going from a regular camera to an almost panoramic one. So much more real estate.

Cons: The touch controls are a pain to use and oversensitive. It is very easy to turn the monitor off when trying to move it because of the sensor instead of a push button. But almost everyone is using them now - so get used to it.

Pricey, but worth it imo. This monitor is hard to get. It is often out of stock, few reviews, and offered in limited quantities. I don't know why because it is a great find.

(1) dead pixel 1/4" from the left side. Honestly, who cares- it is black and does not show up noticeably unless you look for it & it is out of the way. Does not bother me and I am picky.

Other Thoughts: I am used to the LG monitor stands. No height adjustment, it is not the most solid, etc. I mean if you shake your whole desk or pound on it - sure the stand is going to wobble. I have my stand on top of 7" of books and unless I try to make it wobble - it does not in day to day use. The monitor base attaches in the middle of this stand as opposed to the very back of the stand in previous LG stands. This should offer more stability in all directions instead of just forward.

4 out of 5 eggsNice monitor

Pros: I have two of these Monitors and I find them to be very good quality. I went from 4 22" Acers to these and it was a great productivity increase.

Cons: On the two monitors I bought I have a dead pixel on each, -1 egg.

4 out of 5 eggsUpgrade from a blown 24in Viewsonic

Pros: 1. Screen size is massive.
2. Matte finish on the screen - hardly any glare, easy to clean and soft colors.
3. On screen or through the computer settings (see cons).
4. Solid monitor for the value.
5. Soft red lights for controls and power (able to be turned off). Panel lights only active when hovered over / being used.

Cons: 1. No DVI/HDMI cable included.
2. Not all onscreen settings all are accessible through the software.
3. One dead pixel (enough to be sad about, but not to send it back). It's neon green ><.
4. Panel labels aren't backlit when being used.

Other Thoughts: My old 24in had a 1920x1200 native display resolution so I've been reluctant to upgrade to a larger screen because most of the natives seem to be 1920x1080 (like this one). Sadly, my viewsonic blew a capacitor after 4.5 years of use and is sitting in my basement awaiting surgery.

It'll take some getting used to, but I'm pretty happy with this right now.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor

Pros: It's a great monitor. Excellent color quality and depth. Given the size the response time is amazing too even if it spouts 2ms. Great for TV, games, movies. Has different Modes as well as custom mode settings.

Cons: Only trouble I had was finding the correct driver off of the LG website. The one on the disc was outdated and made everything a pinkish-red. Almost took it back but all is well with now. Not worth an egg.

Other Thoughts: Wish the it could switch between HDMI and DVI without having to disconnect either cords from the monitor.
