2 out of 5 eggsDisappointing Brightness

Pros: The projector has a good set of inputs and a good UI design.
The physical design of the unit is pretty well thought out, no major oversights.
Plays videos off of a USB drive.

Cons: Brightness is not what they claim at all. My friend owns a competitor unit to this and his is rated at less brightness than this one is, yet his is far brighter than mine when put side by side.

Contrast ratio is another issue, low light scenes tend to just disappear using this unit, and dark shades are near impossible to see.

Other Thoughts: There is an online video demonstrating this with a similar LG Projector, they compared it to a competitor's unit, and the competitor demolished the LG.

If you want to see that, go on Youtube and search for "LG LED Pico projector (PG63 / PB70) versus AAXA LED Showtime"

3 out of 5 eggsGreat product with one flaw

Pros: Does visuals well, interface is decent enough, I don't see any rainbow effects, durable.

Cons: The audio from HDMI input clips, causing all kinds of audio distortion on the internal speaker and the audio-out. The only resolution is to bypass the audio and run it from a separate amplifier or receiver.

5 out of 5 eggsre-review

Pros: Just wanted to throw another review out there - i have owned this for almost a year now - i thought for sure more would have been sold by now - i use this projector at home and also take it with me camping AWESOME - i use a $20 piece of backing fabric for a 100" screen - this thing is so portable and the picture is great (in dim lighting)

Cons: need a fairly dim setting - without sound add on it is hardly audible = the resolution could be better but hooked up to a decent reciever the picture has no complaints from me

Other Thoughts: with the new numerous wireless speakers out there the low sound output is no longer a problem -i most certainly will not be buying any new flat screen tvs in the future - at less than 500 - maybe a projector with resolution upgrade

5 out of 5 eggsThis projector rocks!

Pros: Nice big picture, great color, energy efficient, no bulbs to replace.

Cons: None to think of except it could be more quiet..... but it is not loud enough to hear over a sound system.

Other Thoughts: I'm glad I bought this LG HX300G projector instead of a HDTV. It uses less watts and gives a great movie experience when used with a surround sound system.

4 out of 5 eggsHX300G

Pros: Long lasting backlight, small footprint, produces good colors and sharp picture. Brightness really isn't much of a problem despite seeming so low in comparison to traditional lamps.

Cons: Black level detail is quite lacking. Minor rainbow effect but I might just be ultra sensitive. Projector shoots the image at 30 degree or so angle up so you need to put something under the projector to angle it down if you want to project straight forward.

Other Thoughts: $500 isn't a bad price for this, wish it was of higher resolution though.
Overall the projector is great for slide shows and presentations with no worry of bulbs burning out but the projector isn't really the best suited to home media use do to its' poor black level detail (why I took an egg off). A decent first projector.

4 out of 5 eggslg hx300g

Pros: compact, lightweight, price, led long lasting bulb - good picture on a flat white wall - better when i get my screen (60x80 and electric for 61.00 after 30 off for credit card sign up) i hope - this will save you some surfing FAVI 4:3/100-Inch Electric Projector Screen (P-100)
its now 82.00 i believe

Cons: 100 inch max screen with good viewing - it aint 1080p - the web site says 3 year warranty but when i got the projector lg says its 2 years

Other Thoughts: i noticed a small scratch on the lens - hopefully it won't be noticed on screen - and I don't feel like going through the hassel of returning it.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Little Projector

Pros: * Very portable
* Comes with its own carrying case
* Good selection of inputs (and accepts 1080p)
* Remote control
* Good menu / OSD
* Rated for 30k hours of use
* Plays video/music from USB drive

Cons: - Limited to 1024x768
- Black level not super
- Ghosting/blur during high-motion video (tested with Transformers DotM and Avatar), and with animated shows (Family Guy, Simpsons)
- Cannot use in mid- or high-level lighting
- On-board speakers under-perform
- Will not accept 720p input from Acer a500 tablet over HDMI

Other Thoughts: This a fantastic little projector. While you won't get top of the line 1080p video, you shouldn't expect that. If you want an easy to use, portable, great looking projector, look no further.
I have this set up for use in both my bedroom and living room - it is just that easy to move from room to room, and setup takes only a few minutes. I tested it with my PS3 and it recreates a theatre experience almost perfectly.
I cannot, unfortunately, use it to watch the Big Game on Sundays because no rooms get dark enough mid-day.
Games also look great (tested with Super Street Fighter 4, GoW Collection, and GTA4).
In the end, take a serious look at this projector if you want something small, easy to use, gives you a great image, and will [seemingly] last you a long, long time.

4 out of 5 eggsLove this thing

Pros: Great colors. Great menu. Great input options. Really really small. LED!

Cons: Just wish it was full HD. Not bright enough to view in daylight (duh).

Other Thoughts: If you don't need a full HD projector, or daylight viewing, then this is the right choice.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: - 1024x768 resolution is the highest for current LED projectors.

- Actually usable as a computer monitor when driving at the native resolution with digital keystone correction off; text is very sharp.

- Fan is reasonably quiet with LED set to "economic" mode, and not annoyingly loud in brighter modes--pitch of the fan is not too high.

- Has 4 screw holes for a standard ceiling mount and a tripod mount.

Cons: - 1024x768 is still a bit on the low side

- Its more expensive than non-LED projectors that have the same or higher resolution. For only 1 to 2 hundred more, you could get 1080p. However, this projector uses less electricity and won't ever need a bulb replacement, so total cost of ownership should be lower.

- Its very hard to get a perfectly rectangular image. This isn't a problem with a single projector, but I'm planning on setting up a triple projector gaming system and am worried it will be difficult to align the edges seamlessly.

Other Thoughts: Colors are oversaturated and contrast is too high out of the box. But I'm mostly happy with the picture after making some adjustments.

Rainbow effect from the DLP is not super noticeable in this projector. I've seen it only a few times. I previously owned an 858x600 LED/DLP projector that wasn't as bright as this, and it was rainbow city, especially in dark scenes. This projector is much better.

4 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: I own an Optoma HD65 and no way is it comparable in terms of resolution. Color and usability wins hands down with this extremely tiny projector. Others have complained that it is obnoxiously loud and it is NOT trust me. Most of us aren't bothered by the fan unless you're just using it to read =.= Who does that really.

I am using it to play games and watch a lot of online videos (400p, 720p and 1080i/p) stuff are fine. If you can survive with the jagged stuff, you'll live. If you watch a lot of YouTube, and DVD you're fine too. It plays nice with Bluray especially with Avatar.

Not to mention 30,000 hours is a long long time. If you don't believe the manufacturer, heck slash it in half and it's still going to last you YEARS. By then a new projector will come out with higher resolution. Even then YouTube, Hulu, Megavideo, etc... quality will still suck. Your usage will vary in what you need it for.

Cons: -1024x768 is really limiting....
-No Zoom

Other Thoughts: Oh forgot to mention that it is workable with ambient lights and realllllly pulling it with bright lights (like the sun).

When it is dark, everything pops out like a regular ole projector :) To me the black is black so you will love the high contrast LED supports.

Be sure you grab yourself a camera tripod, it comes in handy as the projector doesn't any zoom capability. Just adjust the tripod if you like to travel alot like me.
