3 out of 5 eggsDead Pixels after 2 years

Pros: Bought in 8/2011. It is a beautiful monitor. The color is outstanding. I don't know what a previous reviewer was talking about with the back light. It is fine on mine. I have used this as a secondary monitor to my docked laptop for months. IPS monitors are amazingly colored.

Cons: In October of 2013 it developed a vertical line of dead pixels top to bottom. I was very sad. I can use this on my workbench, but I would be unhappy for a customer.

Other Thoughts: It only had a one year warranty. While it did outlast the warranty, I would have expected it to go 3 to 5 years. I will however continue to buy LG IPS monitors. I will simply look for ones with 3 year warranties.

1 out of 5 eggsdead pixels after 2 years

Pros: its a beautiful monitor and light weight with great viewing angles

Cons: unfortunately after 2 years mine developed dead vertical pixel lines. 3 of them! i have trashed it now because it is not usable with these pink and blue solid lines running down the middle of the screen. also 2 years is outside of the dead pixel warranty so i cant do anything about it... my money and monitor are gone.

Other Thoughts: need a longer warranty to cover dead pixels

1 out of 5 eggsnot in it for the long haul

Pros: IPS
Inexpensive

Cons: Ocd would lock me out.
Need to unplug the monitor and plug it back in to wake it up.
It only lasts a year. It just died on me.

My lg phone is acting up too. I sense a pattern. Will update if things change

Other Thoughts: Acer, viewsonic, dell...

5 out of 5 eggsWhy all the negative reviews??

Pros: I've had for over a year, and I've never even turned them off once (though they hibernate when desktop is off) And not a single issue!!

IPS is to monitors as mechanical is to keyboards; you dont know what you're missing until you get them.

Cons: -This is where the low price comes in. They dont have much flexibility when it comes to tilt, wall mount etc. But the screen totally compensates that.
-base is large (and doesn't stop the wobbling), but never worried when I bump against my desk.

Other Thoughts: Bought 2 of them, and you should too!

1 out of 5 eggs7 months after buying....

Pros: For the price I paid, a pretty good monitor...until

Cons: Seven months in, with no apparent catalyst, this monitor started exhibiting "black flashes", where the screen would entirely black out (no light, as if off), and come back on after 1-5 seconds. Over about an hour, these "flashes progressed worse - more frequent and longer lasting, until I finally grew frustrated and shoved it aside...fortunately I had two...

This is completely unacceptable after such a short lifespan. My aunt's monitors are from the late 90's / early 00's and ALL still running! (She has four in all)

I don't look forward to dealing with LG's notoriously weak customer support.

Other Thoughts: I bought TWO. One stayed in it's box until only last month, when I finally got around to assembling my second arm mount.
I only wish I knew whether the one causing problems now is the "old" or the "new" one.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent panel for the price

Pros: Cheaper IPS panel
LED backlit
Has both HDMI and DVI
Even though it's not the best IPS panel, better than the TN panel it replaced

Cons: No physical buttons
Took some fiddling with the settings because it came with the brighness turned waaay down and contrast turned up high
External power brick
Stand gets some funny looks

3 out of 5 eggsBack Light Leakage

Pros: Nice colors and very nice text, very clear images.

Cons: Back light leakage all over, I notice if you just gently twist the frame it changes. I'm guessing its the frame on this monitor thats causing the back light trouble.

Other Thoughts: If back light leakage doesn't bother you this is great monitor.

3 out of 5 eggsnice monitor with but's

Pros: IPS technology really makes a difference

Cons: Included stand sucks -- be forewarned. It lacks key adjustments (vertical) and tilt makes you feel like you're going to break the monitor. Also, it sticks out to far in the front getting in the way of your keyboard.

Other Thoughts: Still love the monitor, but I bought a dual arm stand and used the VESA mount in the back.

4 out of 5 eggsNice monitor with a fatal flaw

Pros: Color, large, fast

Cons: crashes

Other Thoughts: After the computer goes into hibernate mode, the monitor attempts to wake up into a frequency it doesn't support. This results in a black screen and need for a hard reboot. It seems to work better if I let it warm up after a hibernate without trying to do anything such as web surfing.

2 out of 5 eggsTerrible Backlight Bleeding

Pros: The price was right, I was able to successfully configure Eyefinity with three of these screens.

Cons: All three displays I received had terrible backlight bleeding.
No height adjust

Other Thoughts: I couldn't get used to the 21.5 screens
