4 out of 5 eggsLook great!

Pros: Look sharp and are thin as can be! I bought two of them

Cons: When I plugged in the second monitor, there was a 1 inch border around the usable area that was black. Really annoying, but thankfully I was able to find an answer on google, and it looks like many others on here have had the same problem.

Other Thoughts: Solution to above problem:

Right click desktop and select Catalyst Control Center
Select "My digital flat panels"
Select "Scaling Options"
Set overscan options to "0%
Click apply.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat if discounted

Pros: The picture is really great and I love the sleek design.

Cons: Pretty much everything that has been mentioned before:
- The base design is very wobbly. It's very noticeable and I get a little nervous whenever I bump my desk.
- No DVI cable included...I bought a new one online before realizing I had one all along. Not LG's fault, but it still left a bad taste in my mouth.

Something strange that I noticed:
A stuck pixel appears only on my desktop and only when I use it on the highest/native resolution using a DVI cable. The pixel is fine on webpages, video, or any other application. It only appears on my desktop. The pixel is also OK when it is on other (read: worse) resolutions with DVI. I initially tested for dead pixels using HDMI and that is fine.

Other Thoughts: As of this writing, the normal retail price is $220 but I bought this when Newegg had it on special for $140.

The reviews for it were average (3/5 stars), but it was worth the risk to me. Otherwise, I probably would have bought an Acer that consistently gets 5-star reviews.

4 out of 5 eggsGood picture

Pros: Gives an excellent picture, it really compliments my gpu well. Gaming is A++

Cons: If I had to complain about anything it would be the stand. Shakes a little bit if you bump your desk. Not bad though. Was a great buy

Other Thoughts: Shipping was fast

4 out of 5 eggsBeautiful monitor, but...

Pros: - Great color
- lightweight and very thin

Cons: - Does NOT come with DVI cable

Other Thoughts: Had to run to Best Buy to pickup a DVI cable, so there went the $25 I saved when it was on sale... who would buy a beautiful 23" monitor and use a VGA?

5 out of 5 eggsNice monitor at a great price

Pros: Got this thing with a coupon for the price of a refurbished model. I like the base design, and like that it sits higher then some other monitors that I have used. It is really light! Might not matter to most, but I like the LED on the power button. It does not glare in your face, it reflects on the desk. Headphone out built into the monitor so you can plug a pair in (assuming you are using HDMI of course.) No dead pixels as some others have reported, mine is flawless as far as I can tell.

Cons: As much as I like the design the base is still wobbly. This is actually the first LED monitor I have used with the problem. I don't care for the writing on the front of it. They really didn't need to label every button function. The pixels look fuzzy at 1080p. I'm not sure if it has something to do with the monitor or my graphics card, but my last 23 inch monitor looked perfect. I also had to use the over scan function with my graphics card. Out of the box the display was really tiny, even set to 1080p, never happened to me before.

It came with an extended warranty as a free combo. Not sure if that is a good or bad thing, time will tell I suppose.

Other Thoughts: If you use the super energy save mode it has a tendency to was the colors out really bad. I'm sure this has to do with the reduction in brightness to save power. Not worth the minimal savings in my opinion, LEDs already sip power as it is. This is a fantastic price point for HDMI, which seems to be non existant unless you spend a ton of money.

Would had been nice if they included a DVI cable in the box as I had planned for there to be one in it. All you get is a VGA cable.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat value

Pros: This monitor is amazing. Very bright display, and decent viewing angles. The design is also very slim and modern.

Cons: Somewhat flimsy feeling tilt, but that is just nitpicking.

Other Thoughts: New model, great value. Don't put too much attention to all the negative reviews; this LED monitor is a great purchase.

1 out of 5 eggsMonitor with Green Racing Stripe

Pros: Out of the box the monitor's image was spectacular.

Setup was easy.

Cons: 31 days after purchase the monitor developed a green line approximately 1 pixel wide that ran from the bottom to the top of the monitor.

A quick call to LG was all it took arrangea return. Since I had thrown away the original packing it costs $16 to repack the unit plus about two hours to get it to FedEx.

LG replaced the original E2342V-BN with a reconditioned discontinued E2341V-BN. Replacement time was two weeks from the time the original unit was delivered for to FedEx.

Unfortunately the reconditioned E2341V-BN was shipped with and incompatible base requiring a follow-up call to LG. LG indicated that a replacement base could take up to an additional five business days for delivery.

Follow-up calls to LG supervisors resulted in the recognition that theory placement base scheduled for shipping was incompatible with the reconditioned E2341V-BN. Supervisor expedited delivery of correct replacement.

Other Thoughts: Overall I've lost a half day of working with LG trying to resolve issues with the defective E2342V-BN.

Upon further investigation determined that I could have purchased a new E2341V-BN for $50 less than I spent on the original E2342V-BN.

Go figure

Manufacturer Response:

Sorry about the mix-up. we'll correct the problem. Our call center is going to call you if they can find your number based on the info here. If you don't here from them in a day, please call in. 800-243-0000.

3 out of 5 eggsHorrible Viewing Angle so the color is off

Pros: Bright crisp picture. The stand is decent. No dead pixels.

Cons: The view angle is terrible, purple visted links on Google look almost black. Took me 4 hours to fine tune the monitor but the top 25% is the worst color shift I have ever seen in a TN panel.

Other Thoughts: I am not going to return it, but am not so pleased I am stuck with it either.

1 out of 5 eggsMonitor with Green Racing Stripe

Pros: Out of the box monitor image was spectacular. The LG E2342V was paired with a LG Flatron W2353V and of the two 2342 spectacular.

The dual monitors are attached to an NVIDIA Quatro FX580 graphics card

Setup was easy.

Cons: 31 days after purchase the monitor developed green line approximately 1 pixel wide that ran from the bottom and top of the monitor.

A quick call to LG was all it took arrange a return. However, packaging and delivering unit to FedEx is waste my time.

In comparison to the W2353V unit the E2342 is flimsy. Not a problem unless you plan on moving the unit around.

Manufacturer Response:

We are sorry for your inconvenience. Of course we will fix any defects promptly. We pay shipping both ways, but sorry we don’t pick it up. We choose not to use the pick-up service due to the cost versus the cost of the product. But in addition to FedEx shipping centers, you can drop it off at any Kinko’s or Fed-Ex authorized 3rd party shipping center.
